The Chronowarp

Rate this book
The Galactics quarantined Earth. But the last Galactic Guard agent died. Logan found his stealth ship, and now it's his job to protect the Earth from alien predators.
Kazz is a genuine Neanderthal and Philemon is an apish proto-human, two thugs with priceless information to sell to the highest alien bidder. But first they have to get off this backward planet. They hijack Logan & his Guard ship, needing it to crack an ancient alien structure at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean, believing it will provide them the ticket out of here. What they don't know is that the structure holds a terrifying alien prisoner that could doom the human race to eternal servitude--if they did know, they wouldn't care. Kazz and Philemon just want to cash in. It's up to Logan to stop them, but at the moment, he's on the run from humans who want the secrets of the Guard ship.

I was born in Canada and remember as a small boy crawling in my snow-fort. I closed my eyes, and when I tried to open them, they were frozen shut. I didn't panic, but wiped away the ice crystals, unglued my eyes and kept on building my tunnel. Those were great days! I moved to Central California before seventh grade and couldn't believe I lived in a land where oranges grew on trees and you could pick grapes from the vine.

I used to wonder what I wanted to do with my life, what kind of work specifically. I was miserable not knowing and bordering on desperate. Then one day a friend gave me his typewriter. I began working on a novel. A different person told me it was much easier on a computer, so I bought one and began getting up at 4:30 A.M. each morning before work, writing for three hours. My eyes were unglued once again as the pang of misery left my gut. I knew exactly what I wanted to do: write. So now that's what I do, I write, and write, and write, and I love it.

Ebook Review.....The Chronowarp

I have read alot of Vaughn's science fiction and particularly like the sometimes humorous angles that he utilizes. It makes reading his works more relaxing and really....who needs an overly serious plot. I would love to see the series continue.....Logan can use a few upgrades, but that is more within the pervue of the author. Please keep. writing good science fiction Mr. Heppner.....you have helped me through a few boring weekends with your writing. I look forward to seeing more soon. Thanks!

Jumped the Shark

So book 1 was acceptable even with its sketchy technology and magical sci-fi threads. Unfortunately, the narrative fails to deliver in book 2 and instead of a storyline that might be plausible we are given a mishmash of conflicts producing a very high body count from collateral deaths, some most gruesome. The story no longer makes any sense and should be returned to the shelf.

Enjoyed

I really enjoyed the 2 book series. I liked the Characters and humorous and dangerous personalities. I would like to see this series continue. The books were also entertaining, adult, and kept me guessing on how much possibilities the plot contained.

We need to see book 3

I love the way the stories combine, well written, BUT, I am a man that does not tell. So I will not tell anyone what to look for. Just read the series in order, and maybe, just maybe, Mr Heppner will have the next book done.
Well worth the wait. Trust me.

Enjoyed reading it

Most books go downhill after the first book, I was pleasantly surprised that this one did not. It was a pleasant read for a couple of days. Looking forward to the third book, and I will be sure to look for more works of this author

Good but not Vaughn's best.

This was entertaining but it was very drawn out and uninteresting at many points.. I will still read the next one.

OK

You finally got my attention on the second book. Enjoyed the story, but,.. I found the books dis-jointed and some times confusing.

Great book!

Even though it's unlikely that one man could have this much luck it does make for a good read. Hope the series continues!

Oo_galactic guard

I enjoyed this series sort of bond verses aliens. Just an ordinary human against the greedy alien pirates. I look forward to more.

Invaders. Book 2

Pure science fiction. Easy reading, leaves you wanting more. Read Book 1 first, makes it easy to understand. I will now read Book 3.

this book (like the first) lacks some depth of character but it has enough twists in the plot to keep me reading.

Great book BUT

A couple of times I almost put this book down even though it is so well written . Cause the main character is so dumb.. then I remembered he was a Marine.

Good volume

Worthy continuation of the first book. The feel of a 40's gumshoe novel, pre-sapiens hominids, gangsters and government agencies was a hoot. There isn't much by way of plot or heavy character development. He doesn't do that well in any of his books.

He's managed to still avoid the misogyny of some of his other books (that 1940 view of women is almost necessary to fit the gumshoe theme) and the overtly racist dialogue that made me stop reading one of his books.

It's one slapstick scene sliding into the next and they fit logically. It's light and fast, no thought required.
