Two things stand in the way of his ambitions: his heroin-addicted brother and his bisexuality. In Morgan’s world, his attraction to men is a death sentence, and he has no desire to pursue it… until he tangl

I’d never heard of the author but I enjoy “biker” stories and have found few that I like in MM. This was an absolute winner! It’s set in Australia, but I guess some aspects of motorcycle clubs are universal. Morgan, at first, appears to be the cliché biker dude, but there’s much more to him, not including the bisexuality he’s kept locked in the closet his whole life. When he rescues Luc from a beating, it’s sets the stage for their doomed love affair. Told in three parts, the first two

I think I came close to overdosing on antacids while reading this book. The angssssssst, Holy Hell. I’ll go ahead and warn you now that there is also angst by separation. I’m not a fan of separation periods in books that I read because if they didn’t stay in relational mourning long enough you get the whole…

Not a fun situation. But, the gritty, harsh reality in this book prevented it from blowing up and becoming an issue.

So, now that I’m coming down off the Tums high, we can talk about Lu

I am a huge fan of the Sons of Anarchy television series so finding a novel focused on a motorcycle club was exciting for me. I really like the way B.D. Roca builds the threat level in Broken Sun. I read the first half of the story on the edge of my seat, concerned not just for the safety of Morgan and Luc as individuals, but also for their relationship. From the beginning of Broken Sun, Roca establishes that Luc is in a precarious situation because he is protect
Hhmm....This was a mixed bag.

The other book in this series was one of my favorite reads last year and I was really excited to get my hands on this one. The first half or so was fantastic and I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between the two guys jumped off the page. The situation they're in is super tough and you feel like it's them against the rest of the world. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what was going to happen and if they were going to make it out alive and together.

I was given a copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads.

This is a dark, gritty and intense read. Morgan and Luc are enmeshed in the same biker gang - Morgan as an ambitious enforcer and Luc as a club member desperate to get out. Theirs is a world of dangerous scheming conflicted loyalties.

I loved both of these men. Luc risks his life for his sister’s safety. He is a talented tattoo artist desperate for a chance to start fresh outside the club. He is gentle and a little naive and he

Gritty Realism and Enduring Love

B.D. Roca is a new author to me, so when she contacted me to review a biker story, I jumped at the opportunity. There’s nothing like a good biker story! What I then proceeded to read was a delight for the senses.

Set in Australia, Luc and Morgan are not the most compatible people. Morgan wants to climb the ranks of the club, and Luc just wants out without dying in the process, which appears less and less likely as each scene passes. The plot was great, and the pa

Review by The Blogger Girls.

I really enjoyed this story about two guys who were members of a biker gang, though each for different reasons. Morgan had been working his way up the ranks, known as a tough guy who gets things done but pretty much sticks to himself. He steps in when he sees fellow member, Luc, about to face off against three other members. Their connection grows from there.

Being gay in the biker world is not a good thing, and Morgan has put those feelings aside for a long time. Luc

James Morgan is an enforcer for the Bastard Legion gang. He owns his own garage and makes a good living, which he is trying to keep quiet. His brother, Steve, deals drugs for the Legions, but is losing his credibility because he is a user. Morgan is controlled, strong, and he intimidates everyone. He also hides a secret.

Luc Sinclair is also a member of the Legions, but he’s had enough. His priority is helping his sister to get away from an abusive ex, who’s a member of the Legions. He’ll do anyt

This is the first book in this series that I have read but I have to be honest in saying that I was blown away with everything that happened in this book. I will definitely be reading the next one when it comes out it'd there is another book on this series. This book was raw and powerful. It had what I would picture if someone was in this situation as a bit of truth on what would happen if they was in a strong biker Gang that does the things this biker gang does. Like I said a very powerful very ...more

Gritty. Brutal. Violence is the order of the day, and weakness will get you killed. So will liking another man, never mind loving him. Set in Melbourne, Australia, this is the story of two members of the Bastard Legion motorcycle club, who discover that survival of the fittest can mean more than one thing. They have very different starting points, their family situation is nothing alike, but they bond over a physical attraction that will not be denied, no matter the danger. Of course it leads to ...more

Life in any biker club isn't as glamorous as some seem to think it is. People have seen Sons of Anarchy and think it's just entertainment. It's supposed to be all fun and games and making money. But they don't realize until it's too late that life in the club is hard and violent and often grizzly. This book, this series, has shown a lot of that impact. It was surprisingly realistic and really good.

Being in the Legion motorcycle club is all Morgan has really ever known. There are strict rules ab

This was an excellent read for me. It's the type of novel I really get into. Dark, violent, emotional on all levels and filled with two very dynamic MC's: Morgan and Luc.

This 2 book series and starts off with the short story, Happy Birthday which actually takes place after this book which is novel length - but it makes sense once you start reading. So yes, read Happy Birthday first, then Broken Sun.

Spoiler: I wish I had realized that the Uncle in Happy Birthday is the MC in Broken Sun, it actually would have made more sense when I started the 2nd book, even though he's pretty despicable, you learn why and, of course, he redeems! I spent too much time confused/gu

B.D. Roca spent her early years in Brisbane, in a series of crumbling old houses laced with the smell of frangipani and surrounded by the hum of cicadas. Her gran raised her on ghost stories, quirky family history, and told her to beat up anyone who gave her attitude. This was not advice she took, although it does make a certain amount of sense. It may also account for her love of tough characters ...more
