“On the edge of amazing.”

On the Edge of Regret is a beautiful story by Kate Squires. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Squires, so I wasn’t really sure of what to expect going in. I didn’t know if she would be able to deliver on the promise held in the intriguing blurb. But, as I started to read I realised that I needn’t have worried because Ms. Squires delivered everything I had hoped for, and more.

On The Edge of Regret by Kate Squires is a romance, a little mystery and new adult book. I was pretty into it from the beginning. The author did a great job at holding my attention and her character development. Each character was well thought out and it was easy to like them. The lead Characters were Brix and Nash and I found myself rooting for them early on. A lot goes on in this book. A funeral is what brings Brix back into town and with it lots of changes. I don’t want to give away any spoil ...more

Loved the concept. Loved the beginning. Main issue- I felt like he forgave her to fast.... and the ending with the rape came out of nowhere. It all happened to fast.
Andddd no mention of ari in the epilogue?! So sad.

On the edge of regret by Kate Squires a four-star read that will leave you on the edge. Kate Squires is a great author I have loved her other books, I will be honest and admit this wasn’t a favourite of them all, but I think that’s me as I’ve struggled with a couple of books recently from authors I adore. The writing was as usual really great, the characters had great depths to them, they were people not just characters on a page, my only problem was Brix she seemed a little too all over the pla ...more

My first book by Kate Squires almost destroyed me.

Let that sink in for a moment because for a book to completely destroy me, it has to revert me to my childhood habits of hiding underneath my bed sheets for days on end with no lights at the end of the tunnel and that only happened once and i'm still cursing the author for that one. Kate Squires almost brought me back to that state.

On The Edge Of Regret was emotional. Heart wrenching. And hauntingly beautiful because it tells the story of

What happens when you go back to the town you came from, and meet your old life and love again? Will old wounds open, will there be anger? On the Edge of Regret tells the story of Brix, who left her hometown at 15, and now returns after an absence of six years. I’ve enjoyed reading this emotional story very much.

On the Edge of Regret by Kate Squires is a new adult romance story that is about second chances and forgiveness. This is not my first book by this author but is has become my favorite of hers yet. I had a hard time putting this book down. This author's writing style is easy flowing and engaging. Her attention to details made me feel like I was right there with the characters. Her characters are connectable and lovable. They will take you on some twists and turns that you won't see coming but wil ...more

This is my first read by this author and I cannot believe the emotional roller coaster she took me on.
I'm a fan!
Heavy, emotional and heart wrenching story of second chances healing and forgiveness.
I had a hard time reading this book it was so emotional, but I also had a hard time putting it down as I need to discover what would happen next.
The outcome was well worth the read!!
The writing was easy to follow although hard to swallow as this book tugged hard at your emotions.

Heartache. This is the first word that comes to my mind when I think about this lovely small town story. Heartache and then hope and then some more heartache. I just couldn't get a break, neither me nor our main characters. And I cried, a lot, so get your tissues close by because they will be your besties for a while.
Mature characters who had to deal with too much during their youth and even in their "adult" life. I never once believed their were in the twenties. I got frustrated at times with

I give 5 stars to On the edge of regret written by Kate Squires.

This book is a first for me from this author, and what a brilliant recommendation I really enjoyed this book.

Brix Kelley was your typical small town child, covered in mud and scraped knees, and five friends that was until she turned 15 and moved away. Now years later she needs to return home, but is unsure of the response she will receive as she cut all five friend's out of her life.

Nash Cooper is the trouble the still lives in

This is my first book by Kate Squires and I really enjoyed it. Getting to know these characters was fun.

Five school friends getting together for the first time in six years, finding out how they'd changed and grown up and all the secrets that we discover on the way makes for a very emotional and eventful story. I was pulled in to their little world of feelings and mixed up emotions of how Brix left everyone, particularly Nash! Poor sexy Nash, when she just upped and left them suddenly one night

Overall I really liked this love story of second chances and twists and turns. I would have liked to have more clues early on about Brix’s secrets, but by 25% I was hooked! I liked the reminiscing moments and small town vibe. It was a little hard to believe Brix and Hannah still considered each other to be best friends after that much time, but I was glad they had each other. I will definitely keep Kate Squires in mind for future reads.

This is the story of going home again and discovering that for as much as things change, things also remain the same.

This is the story of first love and first friendships and growing up and apart.

This is the story that had me yearning for the group of friends who influenced my life when I was a kid and another group from my 20s.

The story has a nice flow to it and the characters are quickly developed. It was funny and sad and nostalgic all at the same time. There was a bit of suspense that moved

Too much

I loved the fact of the second chance romance between Nash and Brix. I loved the secondary characters, Hannah and Eli. When the secret of why Brix left her friends and young love Nash behind,I was sympathetic and understood. What changed for me in this book was another secret, then a drama situation ending with another secret. It was a little too much. If the book had just focused on the first secret of why Brix left and had not kept adding additional drama it would have been much better

3.5 - 4☆☆☆☆
A story of childhood friends, first loves and second chances. Brix returns 6 years after leaving her small town- we journey thru the struggles of friendship, love, loss and forgiveness. A good mixture of emotions felt thru out. With the secrets we discover along the way - the grief and guilt, trying to find peace, you can't help loving Nash and Brix. An engaging read.
I love second chance romances...who doesn’t!? This book is a cute second chance. Nash and Brix are easy characters to fall in love with. Many secrets are revealed throughout the book that keep you guessing and shocked! There are so many plot twists it’s almost like you’re reading more than one book. Don’t miss this one if you are a fan of second chance romances!

If you crave an angsty New Adult Romance with #AlltheFeels then ON THE EDGE OF REGRET by Kate Squires is going to hit your sweet spot!

On the Edge of regret is a stand-alone novel from author Kate Squires. This is my third read from this author and she just keeps getting better, her characters and incredible storylines continue to captivate and entrance me.I will most definitely be looking for any more of her future books! You are totally transported into this read, and follow the story, characters and their emotions as though you are there right alongside them, and even living it yourself!

Had potential but the execution was poor. Everything-but-the-kitchen-sink, overdone drama. The writer needs to pick one conflict and one twist and stick with them, and refrain from stacking on three or four more bombshells. There was no inkling before another issue was dropped in and they came almost like an afterthought, like the writer thought 'OH! This sounds good! Let's just add it, ' without considering whether it fit. There was no cohesion and it was all very soap-opera-ish, the drama carr ...more

What a wonderfully written book with a storyline that captures you from the beginning and holds you captive till the very end. A story about childhood friends, first loves, secrets and fears. The characters all meet again after Brix has been gone for 6 years, for the funeral of one of their own. Some are welcoming and warm upon her return, one is not so warm. Nash was her first love and she his, then she just up and left town, never to be heard from again until she arrives for Trey's funeral. Th ...more

4 out of 5 stars.

On The Edge Of Regret by Kate Squires was all that I hoped it would be when I read the blurb of this book. A second chance romance story with a mix of mystery will have you engage from the first page till the end. Kate has written a beautiful, heartfelt and emotional story. A story on healing and forgiveness and giving love a second chance. The characters are all well developed and not complicated to follow in the story due to a full cast.

**Received ARC for a fair and honest review**
I've got to say this is probably one of the most difficult books I've read to put a number on for a review, if I have to it's somewhere between a 3 and a 4 and the only reason I say 4 is the ending brought it up. This is a second chance story that had way too many secrets/plot twists come up for my tastes. When you first meet the characters Brix is going back to where she's originally from Ashton Falls for a friends funeral. She moved away when she wa

Oh my!! This is my first book by this author and will definitely not be my last, I've already looked at everything she has available and can't wait to read them all.

On the Edge of Regret was a great 5 star read.
This is my first read from Kate Squires and I was an emotional wreck, crying several times.

Brix is returning home for a friend's funeral. It has been years since she left without a word and she’s not sure how welcoming everyone will be. As soon as she gets there she realizes just how much she has missed the small town feel.

Her aunt is very welcoming however when she runs into someone at the supermarket she gets a glimpse at what she just might see f

On the Edge of Regret is about Brix Kelley who returns to her small town start after having leaving abruptly 7 years earlier at age 15. She never said goodbye to her friends or especially Nash Cooper, her boyfriend. She is back in town for the funeral of their shared friend, Trey. Some are happy to see her, some are not.

My first Kate Squires read was When Love Breaks and it's second part, When Love Walks. Both are exceptional reads, with in-depth character development and a gripping storylin

Kate Squires was born and raised in Ohio where she still resides with her husband and children. She has always loved writing but never, ever thought her life would lead to sitting in front of her laptop for hours on end creating stories other people would read some day. Kate has dabbled in all sorts of odd jobs ranging from dog groomer to dance instructor and even a chicken farmer, but her true pa ...more
