Kit O'Hare is struggling to prove her abilities to her father and her boss. After an unfortunate accident while playing the Easter Bunny lands her, literally, on top of the mayor's son, she realizes her hopes of keeping her job are over.

Without an event coordinator, Brant Fuller may never get his bar up and running properly. But when luck places him in the right place at the wrong time, he finds the solution to his problem—Kit.

Like rum and Coke, the two mix well. However, Brant is harboring a lie that could ruin them before they begin.

Brant is attracted to Kit the minute he meets her and he hires her to help with the marketing of his new bar. This was a sweet romance and great characters. I fell in love with Kit and Brant. A fun, easy read.

This was a sweet holiday romance! During the town’s Easter party, the Easter bunny is a no show. Kit, the town’s event planner, decides to put on the costume herself and things get trickier from there. Brant, they mayor’s son, goes after her from one of the accidents and their sparks start to fly. He sees how much trouble she’s having and offers Kit a job in hopes to save his bar. Brant and Kit has instant attraction and I loved their interactions. Honestly, I hate the “I have to lie about who I really am” trope and I’m not sure if that’ll ever change. I never understood why this is a good romance tactic when all it does is come back to bite you in the butt and make more unnecessary drama. I am glad that this ended in a HEA and that little problem got resolved.
Ava did a great job with this narration! I loved how she gave each character their own distinct voice, especially her country accent, and how well they flowed together.

The Party Crasher by Erin Bevan is a standalone novella that I listened to on audio narrated by Ava Lucas.

This is the first books of Erin’s that I have read and it definitely won’t be my last. It pulled me in and couldn’t wait to see how it was going to end.

Ava did a great job on the narration. I look forward to listening to more of her work in the future.

This was such a cute story! With two people who need a boost for their own future and with one giant bunny/cake collision, they find that their future and their present have just met their match. They both have the mayor in common but secrets and jobs go hand in hand, right? Well they do for this couple.

Kit is doing her best to make order and a success out of her life by working for the city. Her youth was a bit of a mess because she lived her life fast and crazy. A disapproving father and a wake-up call both serve to help her see that she needs to get on with her life in an adult way. Her job with the city as an event planner is a sure way to make success and approval her own but only if things don't stop going wrong with the annual Easter picnic in the park! One problem after another pile up until she herself piles right into the mayor's son. The fallout isn't pretty and when the handsome victim extends a hand to her she takes it, and runs. Well, they don't get very far because her sense of self-preservation kicks in and she decides that she should go back to her own vehicle instead of the cute stranger. Until she sees the mess she was running from. Responsibility and pride can catch up to her later, she needs a drink. And who should she find in the bar down the road but her knight in cake-covered armor...

Brant is trying to stay out from his father's political shadow and as far from his step-mother as possible. In town to open his new bar he finds that he's short an event planner. Little does he know that one just fell into his lap, literally. And when he finds her at the competing bar attempting to dull the ache of the mess at the park, he's determined not to let her get away a second time. Seeing her distress, he offers her a job. After introducing himself under a false name. Yeah, because that's not going to come back to bite him...

Together they find camaraderie and friendship and even love to go with their instant attraction. With such a short courtship there's not a lot of time to build trust and confidence in their relationship and those two things are put to a serious test on opening night for Betsy's. As they figure out truth from misunderstandings and jealousies we get to see that they're truly good for one another and they're on their way to a truly happy HEA. Their life together sure won't lack for amusement or excitement, that's for sure!

I really enjoyed this short story and was happy to read and review this ARC for the author.

Kit is devastated when the job that she thinks will finally turn her luck around blows up in her face. To top off her humiliation, she meets a man that she hits it off with right away. Brent witnesses a disaster of an event. But he winds up becoming smitten with Kit. Once he finds out her story and that his parents were involved, he decides to withhold who he is from her.

This book is full of predictable tropes. Including the "don't tell her who I really am". I know this is coming out like a bad review, but it's not. Despite all the eye-roll worthy mess of this story, I loved it. I absolutely just adored it. My only criticism is that it wasn't long enough for much of the back story to be built up a little better. It's still a very refreshing read.

The only characters you really get to know fully are Kit and Brent. There are some other characters sprinkled in, but you don't really get too much of them except dialogue. I adored both Kit and Brent, but I'd of loved to see the back story of some of the other characters. Especially Brent's parents. They did a good job for a novella though.

The narrator, Ava Lucas, is just too cute! I love the country accent she has in this book. I will be honestly floored if somebody tells me that her accent is faked. She does such a great job with it. I do have a small critique about her though. There were times that she didn't do tones right for certain characters. It wasn't many times, and it's not really that distracting. I think it happened maybe three times.

I didn't think I'd enjoy this story as much as I did. This was one of my out of my comfort zone picks. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fact that I really enjoyed it. I read over half of it in one sitting. Then, I read the other half in another. I'd of probably read all of it in one sitting if I didn't need sleep and have errands. I fully recommend this for a light and refreshing read.

Great Story & Audible Listen🎧 Sweet & Delightful!

The Party Crasher
A Novella
By: Erin Bevan
Narrated by: Ava Lucas

This is a great story, it is enjoyable and fun with the right amount of heart. Erin Bevan has a wonderful writing style, she fit a lot of story into her novella. The storylines are interesting and captivated me from start to end. The characters are nicely developed, they are realistic and likable. Kit O’Hare is trying to make it on her own, she lands a job as the City Event Coordinator, unfortunately her first event does not go as planned. She gives party crasher a whole new meaning. Brant Fuller is trying to get his new business off the ground, his event coordinator quit on him and he needs to find one in a hurry. Sparks fly when he first meets Kit, she winds up being just what he needed, a new event coordinator and then more. There is only one problem, he never shared with her everything about him. I loved how everything played out for them, how they first met, how kind he was to her and their instant attraction. Then working together and fighting their attraction to finally making it happen. There was a bit of drama and angst, some fun moments and heartfelt ones. All leading to a great romance. Thank you Erin Bevan for this great story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Ava Lucas is a fabulous narrator and voice performer. She brings these characters to life, gives each their own distinct voice and personality. You can hear how much heart she puts into her performance and does a wonderful job relaying the characters emotions. Ava is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

"The Party Crasher" is a manic piece of fluff and all the better for it.
Kit has just organised the most memorable Easter Egg Hunt ever held in Stony Brook, Texas. It's her try-out for a job with the city. Pity it was memorable for all the wrong reasons!
Meanwhile, Brant Fuller, has a problem. His new bar is almost ready to open its doors but, wonder of wonders, his event planner has just quit without notice.
Is it possible that the two will come together, share an instant attraction, and he'll offer her the job? Not just possible, it's a cert.
Romance is, of course, out of the question given their working relationship (does anyone ever believe this?). And there is the small problem that Brant has lied about his surname - it is sure to bite him on the ass at some stage.
Yep, big time!
There are some nicely emotional scenes toward the end but the very end is rushed. And it is amazing how soon Kit makes a full recovery from her bout of stomach flu.
It would have benefited from a better edit (for example, you are not given 'free reign' in your job - well, maybe, if your job is to be a King or Queen).
It is novella length and might have been better if it was half as long again - the story is quite rushed.
It's a 2 Star read, lifted to 2.5 Stars and, what the hell, it was a cheery read - 3 Stars.

Sweet short story with a bit of humor. The narrator does a good job; a solid, clear performance. I’d recommend listening. Kit and Brant have a good connection. Loved that they both felt so strongly for each other. Kit is working as an event planner for the mayor; she’s planning the town Easter Egg Hunt, but things don’t go exactly as planned. Hijinks ensue! But, luckily for her, she meets Brant. After an embarrassing moment at the Egg Hunt, Brant offers her support and luckily for her a job planning the opening of his new business. I liked all the humor, but I do wish Kit had a bit more confidence. She really shouldn’t have taken on such an event as the town egg hunt; she just runs away instead of being mature enough to get things fixed and moving as the event planner. I still liked her though, she has a big heart. Brant is a sweetheart. Both are trying to deal with some family issues. The romance does have some passion, but it’s mainly fade to black. Overall, a sweet, fun, quick read.

Funny, with lots of chemistry, this holiday novella is a wonderful listen. Kit O'Hare is planning the town Easter party. When things go awry, Brant Fuller, the mayor's son helps her out of her awkward situation and from there the story grows. It's full of small town gossip, family tensions and a love story that keeps you rooting for that happy ending. I loved the flow of this book. It's quick witted and has a plot line easy to relate to. We all can understand the problems these two encounter and it makes the listen comfortable and totally enjoyable.

Ava Lucas brings this short to life with her wonderful narration. She has wonderful comedic timing, truly an art for a narrator. She gives Kit that slight lack of self confidence yet you feel her perseverance right through Lucas's portrayal. Lucas will pull you in and make your face smile and your heart warm.

I'm normally a reader who wants all the words. You know those memes and bookmarks that say, "I like big books, and I cannot lie," on them? Yeah, those are made for me. However, this was the perfect story for my afternoon between books.

I normally think shorter books lack the development needed for a good story arc. However, that wasn't the case here. There was the perfect amount of conflict and tension and everything was resolved well with a HEA by the end. The writing didn't feel rushed at all.

I enjoyed these characters and their story. This was my first by both the author and narrator, but I am definitely interested in more! The narration was well done for both the male and female voices. The pacing and tone were both great. I definitely recommend listening!

5 Star review of The Party Crasher by Erin Bevan

Audio Review:

Erin Bevan is a new author to me and I have no idea why that is.  I have listened to several books by Ava Lucas and each one is better than the last.

I fell hard and fast for Kit O'Hare and Brant Fuller, both separately and together.

This fun quick, quirky listen that was sweet, romantic and thoroughly enjoyable to listen too.

Thanks to a series of little white lies, complications arise. What will happen when Kit finally learns the secrets that Brant gas been keeping?

Ava Lucas did a fabulous job of narrating the characters in a variety of voices and this absolutely enhanced my listening enjoyment.

Kit is just trying to make her own way. Brent needs help promoting his new bar. A calamity of events, leads these two together and the fun begins. I enjoyed everything about this couple. Their chemistry, their history and the one thing that can make or break them. This was a quick read, but so much fun. I fell in love with Kit. She is so easy to relate to. It truly seemed liked "Murphy's Law" was in play in this book, and that made it seem so real.

Ava Lucas always delivers a wonderful performance. I enjoyed her narration in this book as well. Ms. Lucas has a sweet voice that brought Kit to life. Ms. Lucas has a smooth transition to a male voice. Her narration of Brent was exactly as I imagined him. All of the laughs were brought to life by Ms. Lucas.

Such a wonderfully sweet romance! Brant quite literally falls for Kit the moment he meets her, and his protective white knight instincts kick in and he offers her a job. He quickly realizes this means that he can't date her, regardless of their dynamic chemistry, but she is exactly what he needed to help get his new bar open and running. Secrets and insecurities threaten to keep these two apart, but their hearts are inexplicably drawn together and the result is a beautiful love story. Great writing, a hilarious first meeting, and a heartwarming HEA make this a must-read for romance lovers everywhere. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Kit works for the city as an event planner, what could possibly go wrong for her first event? The disastrous, messy Easter egg hunt. Brant Fuller needed a new event planner for his new business after his quit. Little did he know that Kit was an event planner. Even after the disastrous Easter Egg calamity, he offered the position to Kit! It was mutual instant attraction. Can their short relationship survive the misunderstandings, jealousy and lies?
Erin Beven story is cute fun, with some family drama.

Title: The Party Crasher
Author: Erin Beval
Format: Audio
Narrator: Ava Lucas
Genre: Romance - Contemporary, Comedy, Office, Novella
Standalone: Yes
Part of a Series: I'm not sure but it could be
POV: Kit and Brant
Steam Level: Slow burn to steamy
4/5

The Party Crasher was a cute novella. It was a quick listen (since it's a novella). It was sweet and funny but entirely too short. I would have liked an epilogue so see more of Kit and Brant's HEA.

I listened to the audible version. Ava Lucas did well with the narration. There were distinguishable voices for most of the characters.

I would like to give the story 3.5 stars. There was a lot of the typical secret-keeping relationship drama/running away from issues/not quite grown up yet stuff. Novellas often feel like teasers for, or continuations of, other stories, but that was not the case with this one. This was a shorter version of a full story. I liked the writing style and would be interested in reading more by Erin Bevan.

I adored this short novella by Erin Bevan. Both Kit and Brent were lovely characters with their own flaws. They made a great team and a combustive couple. I loved the concept of Brent's bar. The story was fun to read. Great romance with only a touch of drama to spice things up. I will definitely read Erin Bevan in the future.

Ava Lucas did a fabulous job with this narration. I loved her voice and pace as well as the quality of the recording.

I really liked this book. Had me laughing at times especially when she fell into him while wearing the bunny suit and then they fell into the cake. But also it was a lot of fun watching them try to keep things professional and not letting the secret of his true identity out before he had a chance to tell her himself.

It was a quick read that I finished in just one day.

Quote, Brant Fuller: She has literally fallen into his world and crashed right in the middle of his life.
This fun, witty, Easter themed romantic novella starts as a calamity of errors, that turns into a little white lie, that of course turns to a confession and finally the best part an HEA.
This sweet story was narrated by Eva Lucas, her voice made the story written by Erin Bevan even more remarkable.

4.5 stars. A funny novella with likable H&h. I enjoyed the quick pace of this story, and finished it in a couple of hours. The ending was a little rushed, so it could have been a little longer or had a epilogue to tie up the HEA. Overall, a very enjoyable novella. * I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Kit is trying to prove that she is good at her job. Then the Easter bunny does not show and she has to put on the too big and too heavy costume. Disaster strikes and she leaves in embarrassment. She is now being helped by Brant, the one she brought down with her. He offers her a job and they develop a relationship. Is this real or will disaster strike her again.

This is a sweet little romance with all the right ingredients. Good character development and an interesting twist on the boiler plate romance plot. Easy to read writing style with only a few editing errors and typos, nothing that distracts from the story. A fun read.
