Short but sweet Christmas tale. Second chance at love.

The Cowboy's Christmas Bride was sweet and easy.

The Gist: Cassidy has come home to hide. Her singing career and life have become one massive disaster and she needs a place to heal and recover. Literally running into her ex and the man she still loves? And finding out he has a baby? Well that's gonna take a whole different kind of healing to recover from.

Cassidy and Ryder were nice characters. Ryder is a single daddy doing his absolute best to give his 5 year old a good life. He's a bit worn dow

I love to read books about Christmas, even when it is not anywhere close to Christmas time. This is one of those books that I will be reading and reading time and time again. There is just something about it that drew me in. Yes it is a romance and yes it is a book based around the holiday season but there is also laughter and just a plain good second chance romance from the heart. There is something about second chance love stories that are extra special and if they include children... all the ...more

I thought I’d give The Cowboy’s Christmas Bride a go because it’s about a down and out country singer, and the hero is an former bull rider with a young daughter. Ryder is Cassidy’s ex, and she broke his heart. I figured with the small town setting, it wouldn’t be long before they were constantly pushed into each other’s company, and I was right.

Cassidy is dealing with quite a bit. Her mother passed away recently, and she’s still grieving her loss. She’s ruined her voice and had to have

Admittedly I’m in love with any Christmas Romance, there is a precious magic about these stories that will always touch my heart. However, there is always a special spot for those series that I’ve followed that include a Christmas tale. Since most of what I read revolves around family and love in one fashion or another, it makes perfect sense that I enjoy visiting with characters I somewhat know over the holiday season. That’s probably why catching up with Cassidy, w

Okay, I did not really like this book. The plot was good, the protagonists were sort of okay, but for me, the telling of the story was just plain awful, sorry to say that.
The reader got to know in the first chapter, more or less, why Cassidy broke up with Ryder all those years ago. The overabundance of repetitive thought processes retelling this in slightly different words did not make the story more interesting, on the contrary.
The dialogues were sort of stilted, and far too scarce; to make up

A heartfelt second chance love story that churned up all the feels yet left me smiling.
There's so much love, loyalty, and sincere caring fit into the story that, like often in a real life, is balanced with the betrayal, fraud, and disappointments.
The chemistry and bond between Cassidy James McCall and Ryder Hadley are amazing. The feelings between them are so tangible, like a visible, additional character in the book. This palpable connection between them is managed to present even though most

This is the first book I read by Ms LeClair, and it certainly won’t be the last. I truly loved it.
The story centers around Cassidy James McCall. A young woman that left the love of her life, in order to pursue a career as a country singer. When she was reaching the stars, life threw her more than one curveball and now she is back home in Honor, TX, hoping to recover her voice and self-worth.
Literally by accident, she crashes into Ryder Hadley . The man she let go and left behind. He is now a wi

Laurie LeClair writes a heartbreaking and uplifting love story. Everything seems impossible in the beginning, then there is a brief moment of hope before a drop into despair. The reader is never sure until the very end if there will be a happy ending for all. I love the writing of Laurie LeClair and the McCall Brothers series is a sure example of pure genius in romance writing. The story of Cassidy and Ryder is a memorable one which will make the reader laugh, cry, and sometimes to do both at th ...more

Such a charming story, well thought out and executed about a second chance at love that surprises the characters involved.

Ryder and Cassidy were once deeply in love until she decided to end it all. Cassidy had a budding country music career that she knew would interfere with Ryder's rodeo goal to earn enough money to help his aging foster parents.

When vocal surgery is coupled with a mess from her manager bring Cassidy back to Honor, TX to recuperate and rest, she literally runs into Ryder and t

My review will not include a description or plot of the book. I believe it has already been done by the publisher. I have enjoyed the forth book in this Cowboy series by Laurie LeClair. She writes other genres but I believe the Western or Cowboy ones are my favorite. This is a great story of second chances for love and romance. We often return home to something familiar when we have lost our way. That is what Cousin Cassidy does returning home to Gramps and family. I enjoy series because I alway ...more

The Cowboy's Christmas Bride (The McCall Brothers Book 4) by Laurie LeClair
This is Cassidy James McCall and Ryder Hadley's story.

Cassidy is going through a lot of difficult situations and is back in town to get away from everything and to have Christmas with her cousins. She is worried about seeing Ryder again since she had pushed him away years ago to pursue her music career. They way they got reacquainted was priceless. It was so funny.

I couldn’t get through it. The first big problem was Ryder’s daughter is supposed to be 3 years old but she speaks like a 12 year old. How many 3 year olds would try to find their father a Christmas bride. Or ask to have posters of a Country music star on their door...she’s 3. The conversation between Ryder and Cassidy was weird. She said “Sometimes I wonder Why” and he answers in some innocuous response so that you really have no idea what that conversation was about. Why did she leave, why did ...more

Oh yes, five stars. Years ago they were very much in love but Cassie left to pursue a career in country music. It deals with Cassie's misery at losing her voice, her doubt, anxiety, fear, hope, and her never-ending love for Ryder. Even though Ryder married, had a daughter and his wife died, he was determined to make Molly (daughter) his whole existence. It is an emotional story. Ryder and Cassie fought what they wanted and tried to do the right thing for Molly. Molly had her own ideas as to what ...more

I loved this story. It's a great second chance story with a rugged cowboy who's a single father and a country music star who is dealing with some tough issues that could put her future in music at risk. Cassidy and Ryder have a history and Ryder knows that he has to be careful or he'll be back under Cassidy's spell and she'll break his heart all over again but his daughter is a big fan so spending time with Cassidy is inevitable. This is a great story as Ryder and Cassidy work through the past w ...more

Sickingly sweet

Kept waiting for her to bust out a good song like Miranda Lambert. But instead the secondary character from previous books who didn't really do anything was a prominent feature. The obstacle was more melodrama than anything else, the noble sacrifice. It would have been better if she was bitter instead of scared and weak. It would have been better if he hated her or felt guilty anything but abbreviated pining. It doesn't feel real when you set your story over days instead of month

Heartwarming, sweet read

Loved the storyline and the characters in this book. Well-written with few grammatical errors to stop the flow of her writing. I think I love family-connected series books the best, regardless the genre. Ms LeClair has a flair for writing. I love the wholesomeness of the book.
I received this book in a multi book giveaway, and I enjoyed it greatly. Thanks for a good read!

What an achingly sweet second chance romance between Cassidy McCall and Ryder Hadley.
And there is an enchanting peek into what a lady Country singer / song writer goes through along the way to becoming a star, and what she sacrifices and gives up,and yet what can still live deep in her heart. Kinda makes you feel you have been let into the most sacred of secrets.
This whole series is wonderful reading, and this book is to be recommend.

Disappointing in several ways

A promising plot line gets lost in inaccuracies. Cassidy is a singer songwriter who has never been a headliner, but she is being hounded by the press? Not likely. There are several other aspects of the plot that are just don`t make sense. Plus, there are numerous errors with word use, or maybe just typos, but it certainly doesn't help. A sweet romance just got lost in the problems with this book.

A nice sweet read. I've decided I like a little more spice in my favorite genre, but this was a good story. My interest wavered when Cassidy didn't seem to like the spotlight even though that was the biggest part of her job. I'm not sure what the purpose of the ex-agent coming to the festival was, and I was hoping there would be a epilogue or something that would show off the studio idea that Ryder had.
