Reggie Swann spent 10 years in prison for a murder she didn't commit. Thanks to her mother, a lawyer who didn't quit and new forensic tests, she was released. Not a story that's different .. except Reggie was a Homicide Detective. Placed in general population, she learned how much of a survivor she was. Now that she's out, what she wants most to find the man who framed her all those years ago.

A man who fought to prove her innocent offers her a job ... a murder has occurred in her mother's small

Excellent thriller! I really enjoyed this tale of a police officer gone bad, kind of a police procedural mixed with an excellent story of redemption. Reggie Swann, a homicide detective, was found guilty of murder, spending 10 years in prison for a crime she continued to say she did not commit. She found herself immediately shunned by her squad, even her husband turns his back on her, getting divorced and remarried while she remains in jail. Being a cop in jail brought it's own problems, as other ...more

Wow !! Just Wow !! I loved the plot ! I loved the characters !

The book began intriguing and ended on a high note.

So, we have Reggie, a straight cop who has been jailed for murder, which she has not done. But the evidences say otherwise. So a 8-year prison term has cost her everything.. her marriage, her name, her image not to mention the violent behavior she has to face in the prison because of being an ex-cop. But Reggie is one bad-ass survivor and she's held her own in the prison. It was fa

In spite of her proclaimed innocence, her murder conviction quickly changed all that as she now resides in prison, fighting to survive in the special hell reserved for incarcerated former cops who are hated by inmates and guards alike. Kerr has articulated the inside scoop on the former homicide detective Reggie Swann now serving time for murder. Dubbed the “Black Swan” since her trial she now wore orange like the other prison inmates. The difference was that she was hated by both them and the prison guards who were once considered her fellow comrades of the law.

It had been almost ten years since she was incarcerated and after many failed attempts at being released, she had lost hope. Her disinterest in the new trial except to

Framed (Black Swann Investigations Book 1) by author Wayne Kerr Is an interesting murder thriller which may have you looking over your shoulder or watching your back after you finish reading! A very good plot in which the author writes how easily the villain planted evidence against others to take the fall for his murders.
Reggie Swann had been a homicide detective in Toronto when she was accused of murder and sent to prison. She had served 10 years when her mother's friend, Robert Walters, was a

Reggie is the Black Swann. How she got that name is an interesting fact, as is that she spent prison time for a murder that Reggie says she didn't do. All criminals say that, but was she FRAMED?

A hearing finds, on some technicalities, that there is enough doubt that Reggie did commit the murder. She is sent back out into the world. Returning home, the Black Swann, an ex-detective, is asked to investigate a murder/disappear

I was sent this book to review. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

This started off with a bang. The writing and plot were addicting and I could not put it down. This does deal with a an ex-detective being in jail for a crime she did not commit. The drama while she was in jail was intense, and I was hooked. Then the story switched perspectives and I was still loving the story. However;

Book Review originally published here:

Framed is definitely a different kind of thriller. Reggie Swan is a homicide detective who spent the last decade behind bars after being framed for murder. Life in prison for a former cop is anytyhing but easy. Thankfully, after ten years, Reggie’s conviction is overturned, but getting back to her old life isn’t as easy as she hoped it would be.

To most people, she’s still the murderer the media claimed her to be, “Bla

Good start to new series…With the book opening in prison, we get a glimpse of the life that Reggie endured for 8 years. Her first thought is to clear her name and get her life in Toronto back. When she returns instead to her mother's home, Reggie is asked to help clear a husband being held for the disappearance of his wife. Reggie is not totally comfortable with this because she feels like she has gone to the 'dark side' helping a defense attorney. Reggie is a well-drawn character, who is starti ...more

I received a copy of FRAMED from the author, Wayne Kerr, for an honest review. You can see the complete review here:

FRAMED is a solid crime/detective story. Upfront, I enjoyed the story and writing. As a reader, I wanted to follow the story along through to the end. There are points where I find predictability within the story and some readers might stop at this point, but definitely don't. FRAMED deserves to be read to the end. It's a nice introduction to the Black Swann I

Dead Ringers was a well written book that I enjoyed reading. Reggie Swann spent ten years in prison for a crime that she did not commit only to be released and find her old life gone. I really enjoyed the realism behind what occurred to Reggie Swann as it could occur to anyone in prison for ten years for a crime they did not commit.

I now have a new series to read! I really enjoyed this book that I was given for an honest review. No problem I always give an honest review. This book kept my interest from beginning to end. I didn't want to put it down. I did figure out who was the perpetrator however I think Wayne Kerr (a new author to me but it won't be the last I want to read all of the "Black Swann" series) wanted the readers to knows adding more suspense. #Framed by Wayne Kerr

I found it a little difficult in the beginning of the book where it keeps switching point of view. However once you get into the main story it all makes sense. This will be very disappointing if I have already figured out who the killer is - only slightly less than halfway through the book. And I was right in guessing the killer’s identity which is very disappointing when you haven’t even reach the halfway point. I went ahead and finished the book since I have gotten it free
