This book was a lot of talking about the same thing without really going into meaningful detail. The bulk of content was preparing for the 7 steps. It felt, to me, like this would have been more helpful to read in a blog post as opposed to a book. Otherwise, the concepts and ideas about accepting emotions and tuning into sensations was really wonderful content.

Dear Readers,

Please do not read this book if you just started your healing journey from trauma, mental illness, or addiction. I am quite well into my own healing journey but I found myself frowning and shaking my head to many of Ms. Boyle's statements. It kind of irks me how privileged people like her write these sort of books with complete disregard to social class, gender, race, etc. In a perfect world, we all would honor our emotions and not kill each other spiritually with our words and acti

7 Steps to release toxicity and energize joy... I don't know what I expected from a book with this title, but it lived up to it.

Basically a waste of time to read. The concept of the emotional detox is useful, but this could be an article on buzzfeed, not a full book. Not a fan of the C.L.E.A.N.S.E. method either though perhaps the delivery in book form just doesn't do it justice.

I'll pass on this book.

Everyone is looking for the self help book that will help them find a balance in their crazy life. Emotional Detox isn't anything new with its concepts. The author however is able to make readers see the simplicity of the stop and smell the roses. Sherianna Boyle uses a 7 step process that if readers truly want to change their lives this can be a great recourse for them to use. Sherianna Boyle writes with wordy and excessively redundant offerings. I did find elements of the book helpful and practical, but I also thought that a two page summary would have been more clear and impactful. Her compassion and goodwill for the successful emotional recovery of others is evident in her direct and personable presentation of the seven steps presented in this book. First off, it's clear that I may not be Professor Boyle's target audience. They being said, I suppose ultimately I was let down by the content of this book. What I was looking for was more empirical data presentation of how to rid oneself of negative, or overproduced emotion. When I got was more like an episode of Dr. Oz.

That's not to say that nothing within Boyle's book was worthwhile. However, that being said, the content that was scientifically proven, was not original to her body of work.

A book I have read recently is Emotional Detox Sherianna Boyle. A self help book meant to guide readers through a spiritual cleanse when they find themselves unable to process their negative emotions and toxicity in their life. This book was a high 3.5 star for me.
However some may not enjoy this book as it relates to Jesus/God now one could change the faith or or to their own beliefs.
I also felt there were many tips or information I am already aware of and doing.
The information that was giving to me that I didn't know or wasn't aware of has been helpful.

I think the book was good overall. There are things that I didn't like, especially in the first part where it felt that the author was trying too hard to advertise her CLEANSE program and prove that it works. I think that anyone who bought this book in the first place, was because they were either curious or interested in the "emotional detox" per se, so no need to advertise it more. Really great book that can help you!
When I saw it on the bookshelf I thought it looked really pretty, but it also sounded like exactly what I needed at the time as well. I also just remember in that moment feeling emotionally blocked, heavy, and stuck. Even though I didn’t necessarily apply the seven steps as I was reading, I think just understanding where things are potentially coming from and how to be self-aware is insightful. I didnt even get through the first chapter. The author seemed overly hung up on discussing her husband's affair and it ended up sounding more like a sales pitch. The author and her husband worked through their difficulties and the "infidelity" and that's wonderful. I could never trust again. Once you make that choice "bye".

I had high expectations from reading the reading the book summary. I got a few things out of the book but nothing as I hoped to gain. Some of it o didn't fully understand (ex. Third eye) and others parts talked in general but didn't go in depth more or describe step how to digest emotions, not react, etc.

I didn’t love the book, similarly to other readers I felt like she spent more time building and selling why you should do the cleanse than focusing on the actual steps. More than 1/2 of the book felt redundant. It’s almost as if her editor kept telling her to add more filler. I was starting to feel overwhelmed with unprocessed emotions & was able to recognize my past traumas that I didn’t know were subconsciously affecting me so greatly. The entire first quarter of the book reads like a script for a lengthy advertisement for the author’s therapy services. It has good information, but it spent so many pages introducing the book, and what it would talk about, that it took a lot of willpower to continue reading to get through it. Worth reading, for sure, but the beginning reads incredibly slow in my opinion.
Awesome....As I listened to this book I learned so much. I checked out this audio book from the library, that I've decided to purchase the book for myself. This will help go through the process slowly in order to take it all in.

Much of the references were already said and noted. I was hoping for something more relatable, authentic- less "fortune cookie" general. Eventually, I needed to switch from the cliché audio-book yogi "breathe in- breathe out" tone towards a hardcopy in order to finish it

Interesting people feel so divided about this book. I really enjoyed it. For me when a book hits a nerve I know it’s because it’s something I need to look at. This book definitely provided me that opportunity. 🙏🏼

It felt more like the author wrote this as self talk for themselves than as a useful book than can be transferred into anyone’s life, only gave 1 star cause only 1/5th of it is somewhat useful but even then it’s still questionable

I’ve read a lot of self-help books & spiritually based books over the past several years. As much as I gained from them, I felt there was something missing that I had to find on my own outside the book. This is not one of those books. Throughout the book, not only does Sheriana Boyle use her personal grief/experiences, she also give clear & simple instructions on how to incorporate the CLEANSE method into your daily life. Great method. I will say some of the language felt repetitive, but the method itself is unique and extremely helpful. I was thinking throughout, “I hope there’s a bite size summary of each step right at the end so I can take those bullet points with me when I’m next in need of the steps, but may not have the book handy.” Lo and behold, right at the end. Perfect bite.
