Glad to see they're making a vegan cookbook (especially with information in the beginning about why a vegan diet is the best for your health and the planet) but only one recipe appealed to me. Vegan food is delicious, but these recipes don't seem very appetizing to me.
Uses Recipes use a lot of purchased vegan mayonnaises, cheeses, yogurts. And a ton of oil. I think I found only 4 or 5 that I'm interested in making. Meh.
I like the effort but the recipes are not for me. Not on the healthy side and not my kind of flavors. I like the fact that a vegan book was made. It just doesn't motivate me to cook many of the recipes.
wish it had more pictures... gonna test the recipes this week. not really impressed by any; I mean, they don't exactly scream appetizing from the sounds of them, but I will soon find out if that is in fact a truth, like the recipes aren't appetizing, or will the text truly deliver on its promise of good eats?
This wasn't really what I was looking for. The recipes seemed to use a lot of vegan margarines, cheeses, etc. I was looking for more of a whole food approach. I was also a little shocked by the amounts of some things. One soup started out with 12 tablespoons of vegan butter.
