Many mixed feelings about this book and Thoreau himself.
I am thankful for having read Walden for its historical and literary significance. Thoreau’s poetic description, admiration and communion with nature seem over shadowed by his Elitist mentality. His judgement of humanity and self-righteous boasting of himself and philosophies are beyond narcissistic. While I appreciate his naturalism, self-reliance and many of his philosophical thoughts. It's a really nice edition. If you like the book and you like nature art, it's worth getting. I found a copy at Barnes and Noble.
