Megan glanced at the patient chart in her hand, squinting at the tiny type. Dan Evans. Crotchety grandpa it was. A man looked up from where he sat on the exam table. But this was no grandpa.

He’ll never be free…
Out on early parole, Dan Evans returns to the Triple H with one thing on his mind: paying back the debt he owes to the Hales. He has no room for distractions, not even pretty ones like the new doctor in town.
She’s starting over…
After a family tragedy, Megan Fuller traded her job as an ER doctor for the small-town family medicine practice. She needs to find a way to connect with the niece and nephew that she’s now responsible for. But does it have to be riding lessons? There are so many things that can go wrong…
It doesn’t take long for Dan to fall for the pretty, intelligent doctor. But what would someone like Megan ever see in him…?
Lacy Williams wishes her writing career was more like what you see on Hallmark movies: dreamy brainstorming from a French chateau or a few minutes at the computer in a million-dollar New York City penthouse. In reality, she’s up before the sun, putting words on the page before her kids wake up for the day. Those early-morning and late-night writing sessions add up, and Lacy has published fifty books in almost a decade, first with a big five publisher and then as an indie author. When she needs to refill the well, you can find Lacy birdwatching, gardening, biking with the kiddos, or walking the dog. Short and sweet story about forgiveness and taking responsibility for your actions. My heart broke for the H. He was a good guy and I’m glad he found happiness with the h. A solid short story.
Good read. I wish there was a little more to each book. Each book is only about 10 chapters or a little more than 100 pages long. So you get a good story, but I was hoping for a little more on back stories, or maybe future? But I really did like Dan's gumption to be better!

Lacy Williams is a new author for me and I have to say I will read her work again. I enjoyed this clean, contemporary, romantic story about an ex-felon ranch hand and small town doctor with two kids who are not her own. For a shorter story, several themes are covered here; not judging a person by their past, overcoming grief, dealing with guilt, recurring addiction, fear and forgiveness. Ms. Williams handles them well and makes them believable. This story is part of a series, but was easily read as a stand-alone.
Dan just got out of prison, and the family he stole from hires him back on their ranch. Megan was an ER Dr. but when her sister and husband were killed in an accident she took in their 2 kids. So, to have more time with them she moved to a small town and the family practice. Dan and Megan meet, and he ends up giving her and the kids riding lessons. He learns about forgiveness and she realizes that she’s doing ok with the kids, in spite of her misgivings. A really good book.
10. Book 10: Melting Megan: 4 stars I purchased a copy of the novella Melting Megan: Megan and Dan in the Cowboy Fairytales books 1-10 boxset by Lacy Williams and this review was given freely. Interesting characters and a bit of drama. Former Triple H ranch hand and reformed gambler Dan Evans receives early parole, is welcomed back to the ranch, struggles with his sense of self worth and need to pay the Hale’s back while falling in love with single guardian Dr. Megan Fuller.
Dan is an ex- con having stolen 10K from the triple H ranch and is now being released. The Hale brothers are waiting for him when he's released. Dan is changed but he knows he owes the Hale brothers. Dan is surprised when they offer him a job and a ride to the ranch. A year plus he's still working hard but rarely goes into town until he needs stitches from the new doctor who has 2 children. The kids are Megan's nephew and niece but needs help
What an amazing story of restoration!!! Dan made a big mistake and paid for it. But he learned from it, eventually!!! It took a little while. But, finally he allowed forgiveness to come to him. Fantastic!!!!!
The lesson of this book is on forgiveness and how it can ease your life. To often we forget about asking for forgiveness. Read this book and get a blessing as I have. This is a very good series.
A cowboy succumbed to gambling, hoping for some luck. He'd paid a price & was working to kick the desire & earn enough to pay back his debt. A good story of character restoration.
Dan and Lady Luck have had a bad go at things. But when he gets injured on the Triple H and meets the new doctor in town and injury and just maybe his past might get a chance at healing.
The characters in this book. The author gives enough background and personal issues to overcome that you can relate to them. I plan to read another one of her books.
What a great book to end the 10 books Cowboy Fairy Tales Series. A tale of redemption and true love. Isn't it marvelous what a gift love is in this life and how healing it is.
