This the 5th book in the Food Lovers series, set in the Mercantile in Jewel Bay, Montana at Christmas time. I loved reading the other books in the series, and this book was no exception. Erin is getting the Merc ready for Christmas, and she's planning her wedding to Adam at the same time. Unfortunately, she gets involved in a murder investigation that threatens to derail all her holiday plans.

I highly recommend this book. The plot is interesting and I love the characters. Thanks to Midnight INk

I know it seems a little weird to be reading a Christmas book in June but since I enjoy this author’s work, I decided to give this book a shot. As expected, this book does give that holiday vibe that feels very comforting. Erin is in the holiday spirit as well befriending Merrily Thornton, a local girl who has been shunned by her family. When Merrily is found dead, Erin just find out who the killer is before more trouble comes.

I enjoyed this book, but I don’t think this was one of my favorites

It’s almost Christmas and Erin is especially merry this year: she is about to be married. But Christmastime brings out the best and the worst in people. Merrily, a former resident and friend of Erin’s, arrives back in town after a twenty-year estrangement from her parents, but they still reject her. Not even her younger sister can affect a reconciliation. When money goes missing from a local business where Merrily was working, all fingers point to her, until she is found dead. As The Christmas Cookie Crumbles by Leslie Budewitz was a treat to read! This Midnight Ink Cozy Mystery comes out June 8th and is a great read. I was thrilled Net Galley approved my request to review it and even though I am anxious for summer to start, I really felt Christmas Spirit in late may with this one. A complicated mystery, with twists and turns I had not expected. I found it both disturbing and delightful, and ends with a Christmas Eve wedding, a perfect balance. A very good read and a ...more

It’s the holidays in the village and not everything is sugar and spice and everything nice. The mystery is surprising and done in the manner that Leslie Budewitz can only do. I adore this book the most in this series for the holiday theme and I can picture it in Montana and feel at home.

Erin is trying to get the Merc ready for Christmas on Decorating Day (the day when ALL the businesses try and get gussied up for Christmas), she realises though that two boxes have got mixed up and so she (and her mother Fresca) head off to the other shop to swap them over.  When they get there however they end up witnessing an altercation between Tara and her daughter Merrily, Tara has never forgiven Merrily for stealing and being sent to prison ... even though she is well and truly on the stra ...more

The town of Jewel Bay, Montana is the quintessential cozy mystery small town and is the perfect spot for a Food Lover’s Village! I would love to visit the various shops, particularly the Merc that Erin owns and stocks with items (including, of course, food) from local vendors. Shops like that are right up my alley, next in line to independent bookstores, that is. Erin and her family and friends and employees are realistic characters who, in spite of the quirks that go hand-in-hand with cozy myst ...more

This was only the second book written by Leslie Budewitz that I have read - and it won't be the last! Her storyline was great and it kept me wanting to read more and more from the first page. Her characters are wonderfully developed. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

This is probably my favorite in the Food Lovers' Village mysteries, and that's saying something! In As the Christmas Cookie Crumbles, main character Erin is a busy bee. She's running her family's Montana specialty food shop, the Merc, preparing for Christmas, getting settled into her new home, and planning her upcoming wedding. And because of her past experience with helping solve murders, she can't help investigating the latest Jewel Bay mystery. There's a lot going on in this book, though inst ...more

Food Lovers' Village Mystery series is on my list of favorites. I like the town, cast of characters, and all the food, which is why I requested to review this book and subsequently held my breath until I heard back.

I love reading holiday themed books all year round. This one was fun to read as the author makes the town come to life with decorations that make you smile. I would love to visit the Merc and hang out with Erin. She sounds so fun and oh my does she have wonderful things to buy in the store. When Merrily was introduced into the story I instantly liked her. She has had a hard life but I really think she is trying to change things for the better. This latest book in the Food Lovers' Village Mystery series would make a foodie out of anyone!
The main character, Erin Murphy, has piled way too much on her cookie plate. It's almost time for Christmas, she's getting married, and she's sticking her nose into the murder business yet again!
With so many suspects and so little time, Erin has a tough time ferreting out the culprit. As with the previous books in the series, the author keeps you guessing until the very end with engaging characters an

This is only the 2nd book I've read in this series.
I really like the way all the different shops come together to make this a quaint little town.
I've always enjoyed visiting small towns like this, so it's very easy to imagine myself inside the story.

The characters are all colorful and quirky.
This story centers around Christmas and of course, Erin's wedding. Murder puts a damper on the festivities and it's up to Erin to find the answers.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publi

Christmas is my favorite time of year, so I was looking forward to the chance to get into the Christmas spirit a bit early by reading this book. Unfortunately, I was too distracted by nosy heroines, horrible parenting, and alternative medicine pontificating to derive much Christmas cheer from this book.
