Finn is not your typical lemon shark. He likes to frolic and have fun in the water. But his brothers’ and sisters’ idea of fun is lying completely still on the ocean floor - BORING! While out searching for new friends, Finn encounters a sea turtle who hides in a rock cave. Clearly, he must want to play hide and seek. Then he comes across some humans who scream, “SHARK!!!” ...more

Cute friendship story for young shark fans. This book is about a lemon shark, Finn, who wants to find a friend but who keeps scaring everyone away.

There’s a page of non-fiction back-matter about lemon sharks at the end of the book.

Kids enjoyed this book.

Finn, a lemon shark, understandably is bored of lying on the bottom of the ocean all day. He wants to play, so all he needs is a friend to play with. It's not easy for a shark to convince others to be his friend, but Finn persists and realizes that if you show others who you truly are, they may just believe you. A very sweet story of persistence and friendship!

What child doesn’t like to play? But who do you play with when everyone is afraid of you? In Grodzicki’s picture book, Finn Finds a Friend, a lemon shark discovers the answer. And sometimes, being nice to others and doing something unexpected to help them is what makes others consider you a friend. Even if you are a shark!

Have you ever felt like you don't belong because you don't like to do the same things that those around you do? What if you decided to branch out to make new friends but it was scary and hard? This is just the problem that Finn faces. He is a Lemon Shark and he doesn't want to lay around on the bottom of the ocean all day. He wants to go swim and play but h

In a blend of fiction and non-fiction, Jenna Grodzicki tells the story of Finn, the playful lemon shark. Finn tries to play with other creatures (lemon sharks, sea turtles, and even people) but has a few challenges finding a play mate. At first it seems no one wants to play with a lemon shark.  In the end, his sharp shark teeth save the day for a friendly dolphin caught in some seaweed, leading to a new friendship and new play opportunities.  Children are introduced to various creatures that swi ...more

Making friends can be difficult, especially if you’re a shark. In this universal tale of friendship and perseverance, Finn struggles to find friends who understand him. This book shows readers how acts of kindness can break down barriers between unlikely friends and help us accept one another. Kids will love reading the back matter and discovering that lemon sharks really do exist. I know I did!

This is my second book baby to enter the world, and I couldn't be prouder. This story was inspired by my favorite place in the whole world, Cape Cod. I hope young readers will love Finn as much as I do!

Finn desperately wants to find a friend to play with. There's one problem...he's a shark! Little shark lovers will especially enjoy this story with little fun facts thrown in. Back matter too.
