Katja never planned to have twins—but then, she hadn’t planned to raise them as a single mother either. Life has a funny way of seeing how far it can push you.

Pepper and Magnus were born into a flat in Richmond, London, a long way from Katja’s native Denmark, to a mother stretched to breaking point. Kat’s flower shop, a business she’d raised from the ground herself, was

A Rubber Face with a Stripper's Name by Katja Berg is a heartfelt account of a single mother and her struggles to just be part of the game of life(though the title is little misleading but you will understand when you read the book).Though she has a good support system of her loving parents and a few loyal friends she still has to struggle to always justify herself and just live on. With the society and people always judging, its always a struggle to always to go on with a smile just for the kid ...more

"Believe me, these individuals wouldn’t judge you from behind their raised eyebrows if they knew what single mums went through every day of the week."

A rubber face with a stripper's name is a memoir of a single mother raising twins and a successful business. This is the story of Katja Berg and how she survived; her childhood; messy separation of her parents; her first heartbreak; setting up a successful business; falling in love; being pregnant with twins and a broken engagement. I just finished reading A Rubber Face With A Stripper's Name by Katja Berg and I must say the title is quiet a catch,I wasn't ready for what was in it. It is a story of the struggles of a single mother, the strength of a woman and how disappointing some men can be. We live in a society where people judge without knowing what one goes through,it's sad how people don't care, they don't ask yet they're quick to label one as negligent towards their duty. People say the word "bitter" often in connectio ...more

it is my first review and I just want to say when I started reading this book someone inside me said how much time I will spend inside this book ? I said two weeks or maybe more

I just started reading the first chapter What is this life?
I began imagining myself how can I be instead of Katja and I have such a life?
What will I do? how will I think?
And how will I face it all? It was really hard
And now I would like to congratulate you on
your courage, strength and your ability to build something fr

Katja Berg is your average, every-day, solo-mum who has gone through the trials and tribulations of falling in love with the wrong person and being left saddled with two children and a mountain of debts by her wastrel partner. A Rubber Face with a Stripper’s Name is her poignant story of her struggle to cope with the pressures of everyday life that being left in that situation can put on you. Born and raised in Denmark, Katja emigrated to Britain

The title of the book got my attention and also that the author has twins. I was not expecting what this book has to offer. Raw and true human nature. Reality. I have been reading memoirs lately, but this one is by far exceptional. Katja Berg, the author, poured her heart out and was not hiding details.

The book is written in chronological order, from her childhood until she found herself. She takes us on quite a journey, from a loner teen to a single woman starting her own business to falling i

"Everyone has a story; it's how you allow it to be told that will shape your future." This is quoted from the book and I think it highlighted the whole book in general. This book is another one of those books where you'll find the struggle of becoming a woman. From a daughter, to a wife and a mother. Once you've read it, you'll instantly see the journey of a woman who faught for her rights, building her future on her own and most importantly, becoming ''a single mother'' who would do anything to ...more

A Rubber Face With A Stripper Name by Katja Berg is a story of what a single Danish mum had gone through with the hardships of life in single parenthood.

Society tends to be harsher towards single mother especially a divorcee. In this book, the author tells us of how some of her so-called friends showing their true colors when all she needed was their support and a shoulder to cry on.

I like this book because it inspired me of how we should cherish the present and moved on to a better tomorrow an

for everyone. I loved how the writing was raw and unfiltered. The hardships that Katja has been through is so frustrating and draining. I just want to get inside the story and give her some hug and slap some sense to Casper! I have experienced taking care of a child, and I have to say it's exhausting that's why I'm amazed at Katja, to think that she had twins! Plus an irresponsible partner! Ugh! You can feel my frustration!

Overall, this book is definitely a five stars! I highly recommend reading

I initially chose this novel to read because I always judge a book by its cover, and this title was so enticing! For starters, that was one of the best decisions I've made all Summer! This novel is Katja Berg's memoir, and her story is beautifully written and painfully sincere. Some parts were so outlandish and just outright unbelievable that I was in denial that all of these things could have happened to the author, but just WOW! What an amazing woman, mother, and writer! I am so glad that she ...more

This book is
a memoir of a woman who is a parent. A single parent of two kids who struggled to stay afloat. She felt all alone and broken with no one to help her figure out her own thoughts. Yes, she had friends but they didn't really understand her struggles as a single mother. Katja would feel left out of dinner parties because she had no date. She would always let her pride and conscious get the best of her. Which all mothers endure being a mother is hard work and if you don't have a support s

After exams, the only thing a bibliophile want is a cozy bed and a friendly book that can take one to their own world. I picked up this book since I had to review it & boy thankfully didn’t disappoint me at all! A rubber face with a stripper’s name is the ride of roller coaster journey & is filled with many ups and down moments. This book taught me a very important lesson & that is when life throws an unexpected blow on you, open your arms and ACCEPT them happily. Because that’s the only way you ...more

I decided to read this book because of the catchy title. The story of her resilience gives a lot of credence to the “Men are Scum” movement, nevertheless, lots of praise for her doggedness and determination. It is a different thing to have a good story and quite another to tell it brilliantly. This story was well written and the courage to put the story into writing is well applauded. A memoir on the stark reality of single parenthood with low finances. Good read.

I don't read a lot of nonfiction, but I really enjoyed this book. It was a very easy read. I think the book hit me in a place that I had kept suppressed. The author's experience with a narcissist and the gaslighting, just really brought me back to my own experience. Her writing style makes you feel like you are part of the inner circle and you go through her journey as she relays it.

If you are a single mom, experienced the loss of friends, or dealt with a narcissist this book is for you.

Very candid, true but sad story of what single mothers have to go through on a regular basis.Grateful to hear that she was on a quest to be better for hersel first, not anybody else. What I didn't understand is why she didn't think to take out the children's nursery fees and put them on a different bank account inaccessible to Casper. That one really boggled, since she knew how heartless the man was.
My favourite people in her life, besides her family, were Polly and Kirsten.

A Rubber Face with a Stripper's Name is a memoir written by Katja Berg. One of the opening chapters in Berg’s memoir is titled “Dancing on the Edge” and she uses that metaphor to describe how life is for a single parent. Berg came from a relatively dysfunctional family, but she worked through the craziness and built a little business for herself. She fell in love quickly and easily with flowers and floral arrangements, and quickly became the go-to flo

Writing your autobiography must be daunting. Objectively revealing your problems without blaming other people takes fortitude. Katja Berg has shared her life in depth. It isn’t a fairytale. She is busy building a business when she becomes pregnant...with twins. Her partner seems to be supportive until she discovers the depth of his self centered life. He is an artful liar with no fatherly instincts.

Katja doesn’t shy away from detailing how hard it is raising twins. As a single mom she wants her

I just finished reading A Rubber Face with a Stripper's Name quite bizarre, at first glance the title I thought is all about the strippers (literally, lol). When I read the synopsis, I expect to read a story purely about motherhood, but right at the beginning I'm wrong.

A Rubber Face With A Stripper's Name told us a story about Katja Bergーas the authorー a woman who has been through so much hardships, where along the way she has lost herself then fought to find and build it again bit by bit. The author told almost vividly what kind of life, problems, and emotions she had faced to be able to write down this memoirs and shared it with us.
