Although this was an enjoyable read, it was biased to the views of Gwynfor Evans and Plaid Cymru however given that Gwynfor is a politician not a historian this do not come as any surprise. Some of the facts included are a bit skewed however the portrayal of Wales as a historic country is an important one as it moves away from the usual arguements for independance based on economic and cultural reasons but for historic ones. Gwynfor shows Wales to be a proud nation although at times he did come across as 'having a go' at non-Welsh speakers and those Welsh people who are happy with how things are, which would probably alienate some readers. All in all a good read but readers should be aware that it is a biased account of Welsh history and not a definitive history of Wales and her fight for freedom.
