A Senator's been shot, his wife severely beaten and in Ice's father's hospital, their adult children are no where to be found, yet both were at dinner around the time of the shooting.
This time it's Harrison who's assigned, He's got a bit of cabin fever with all the couples around him. His job is to find the daughter Zoe and see what she might know.
He doesn't have that much trouble finding her, but their exchange is interesting and fun when he catches up to her.
Now a lot of people want to talk to Zoe, but she's having difficulty understanding she's in danger. Her brother is also missing but they don't get along so it's anyone's guess.
I love Trish (Zoe's Mom), she and Richard at one time had been an item, but she went for the money and power instead of the surgeon. I really hope these two will get together.
Harrison sticks to Zoe like glue and does manage to get her to stay at Richard's at least until they figure everything out.
Plenty of twists and turns, suspense and family drama as Harrison and Zoe slowly become more than just friendly.
I am already starting the next book in this series, I can't seem to stop myself.
Saul's Sweetheart Book 8
Benji, a friend from their old unit needs help. His brother Daniel has gone missing and Levi is sending a team to find out what happened to him. Saul, Merk, Stone and Dakota are the team sent in. What they didn't expect was someone else staking out his apartment.
Rebel's been watching Daniel's apartment looking for any clue she can find about her friend Tammy's disappearance. She was leaving Daniel's and going home promising to call Rebel when she got there. She never called.
Saul is the one to catch up with Rebel and when they all start talking things start coming out that lead the guys to believe something a lot bigger is going on.
Tammy and Daniel were both programmers at the same company as Rebel, although she was in marketing and not privy to what they worked on. She's taken time off to try to find Tammy and the guys are taking all the clues she has to heart.
Bodies start showing up as they get a strange text following that lead and now Saul is staying by her side.
In spite of the conflict of Rebel not liking Daniel and her being more concerned about Tammy, Saul finds himself more than a little attracted.
I love the way the suspense and the romance build in this book, gradually getting hotter until everything bursts into flame.
I can't wait to finish the next book in this series.
Dakota's Delight Book 9
Dakota is running errands for the compound when a women runs out in front of his truck. With rain coming down as it was he was lucky he didn't hit her hard. The surprising thing is she ran away from him refusing help. Dakota if course is having none of that and follows her.
Bailey doesn't want to tell him anything, but when he ends up taking her home she felt safer about not being overheard. What she tells him leads to him taking a closer look at her injuries and he discovers she had indeed been shot. Her stumbling most likely saved her life.
A hospital visit, a word with a detective Ice sends, and a couple more errands later has them arriving at the compound. Ice quickly gets her settled and everyone gets to work while she rests.
Lots of action in this one as the compound once again gets infiltrated. Taking down the man responsible for all this is complicated.
The close confines has Bailey helping Alfred out in the kitchen and making friends with the other women who live there.
Her relationship with Dakota also starts heating up, I do love a great simmer to sizzle.
The next book in this series was actually part of the first Silver SEALs Series and I've already read and reviewed it so the next one up will be Tyson's Treasure.
A great value collection of three books in the Heroes for Hire series.
4* - Harrison's Heart
Ice's father calls the team for help and Harrison steps up to stop himself from going stir crazy and escape all the happy couples in the compound. A senator has been shot, his wife badly beaten and his daughter is now missing. He finds the daughter but she is ex-military, very angry at the world, and would rather look after herself than go anywhere with Harrison. Zoe is definitely on a mission and there is no room in her world for anyone - even heroes like Harrison. However, she has angered the wrong people and they are determined to stop her meddling even if it means ending her. Can Harrison put all of the pieces together before their world is blown apart?
This was a dramatic story with lots of drama and intrigue as Harrison struggled with the complexities of the situation as well as Zoe and all the ways he was starting to feel about her. It was nice to explore the morality of certain acts and behaviours that were involved in the story and a small number of actions that could be done to counter them. Well told and described, this was a good story that I enjoyed reading.
5* - Saul's Sweetheart
Saul is a member of a team searching for SEAL Benji’s missing brother Daniel, but it then it appears that he is involved in something much darker after finding Rebel who is hanging around Daniel's apartment looking for her missing best friend Tammy. As bodies start to pile up Rebel is terrified it will be Tammy next. Saul and the team would prefer it if Rebel left it to them to find them both but there is no way she is going to sit back and so he finds himself protecting her too. Can they find Daniel and Tammy alive and why is Saul so drawn to Rebel?
I loved this story which had the right mixture of a mystery, drama, danger and romance. I enjoyed the way feelings for Rebel just crept up on Saul and as it became more inevitable he switched to being fully committed to it. Well written and very enjoyable.
4* - Dakota's Delight
Bailey is getting over losing her husband and after witnessing a murder she runs into traffic to escape and is almost run over by Dakota. Not knowing if she is hurt or not Dakota has to find her, and then finding out why she was running he persuades her to move into the compound. Bailey feels forced into accepting his help by the circumstances which gives her a problem - he gives her thoughts and feelings she thought she could never have again - can she stay safe and not give away her heart? This was a story containing lots of drama and action interwoven with a touching romantic story. The writing was such that everything was clear and easy to understand. I could feel emotions from the characters and was gunning for them to find a good conclusion to this story. Very enjoyable.
Harrison’s Heart by Dale Mayer Heroes for Hire Series Book Seven Harrison Hamilton was thrilled to be sent on a mission to the West Coast. The compound was turning into the love boat. Everywhere he turned...was a couple. And he was single. So going away was perfect. And what a job it ended up being!
Zoe Branson had to disappear. And she had to figure out what had happened at her parents' house before she could move on. Not that she could move on. She carried too much anger for the injustice she'd lived through and failure to save her friend.
Great suspense along with the romance as they search for the bad guys but there's more than one trail to follow. And Zoe isn't off the hook for what's happened as someone wants her to look guilty. Great story. **Sexual content and language
Saul’s Sweetheart by Dale Mayer Heroes for Hire Series Book Eight Saul Kreschner is heading back to San Diego with three other guys to find Daniel, a SEAL's brother, while Benji is on a mission. Sure enough, Daniel is missing but it turns into a much bigger case when they find out another woman is missing too.
Rebel Matheson has been watching Daniel's apartment in hopes of finding out what happened to her best friend, Tammy. When four really big men show up, she figures it can't be good. Ends up to be very good when the men believe her and add Tammy to their search for Daniel.
The bigger they are...the harder they fall. In this case, in love. And of course, the women are just loving their heroes. **Sexual content and language
Dakota’s Delight by Dale Mayer Heroes for Hire Series Book Nine Dakota Languor is fairly new to the Legendary family. In the few months he's been here, it's become home. So many of the team are finding their mates—even his best friend, Saul, who he came to Texas with. Dakota would like a family, but isn't in a hurry.
Bailey Hoskins hasn't been living since her husband died. A part of her died with him. And then—she saw something she wasn't supposed to and now someone is trying to kill her. Funny, but having someone trying to kill her has made her want to live.
The compound they live in is filled with interesting men and women. Ex-military folks who have found a new home and purpose...Legendary Security. Great story and characters. **Sexual content https://justjudysjumbles.blogspot.com...
I bought the book back in 2017 and am now reading it. Harrison has been asked to find out what happened to a friend of Ice's father who had been shot. When he runs into the ex-military daughter who has a big chip on her shoulder. But when she comes under attack. Zoe has gone undercover to find out why her father's house. She is the main suspect. The two clashed until they ended up working together to find out who was the killer. Saul has been tasked to find Benji's brother who disappeared. Benji is being deployed. But it is not cut and dried. So when others turn up missing or dead things take a dark turn. Saul keeps bumping into a woman who was missing after going to Daniels home. Rebel is the one looking for her missing friend. Just like her name she won't back down till her missing friend is found. They end up teaming up together. He is out to keep her safe from the kidnappers. Dakota hits a woman with his car. She is running from something. He ends up helping her when he finds out that she witnessed a murder. And the bad guys come after her. Those at the compound are now under threat. So its all hands on deck to keep her and others safe.
HARRISON Harrison wanted out of the compound, too many couples Couldn’t understand what happened to his team members He saw.Zoe and instantly smitten with her, guilty or not he was hooked Repetitive I thought of her home life, and that tragic night Overall a good compact plot, of who was had that much money To hire people to kill them Lead couple was good in their remarks to one another. SAUL Helping a friend, Saul got and found so much more Rebel looking for her friend Tammy. The one Saul was checking on was Daniel. Are they together, same department at work. More they uncover the stakes on their lives became high. Saul wanted her safe, she didn’t want to be safe Good tense plot, did he find love also DAKOTA Dakota the new one on the team finding the love nest too much Glad for the assignment and errands in town Till a woman dashes out in front of his truck, she continues He feels responsible she is limping, a meal maybe then she will tell She saw a murder, pictures she could name, but no body Finding she had taken a bullet, taking her to Ice and compound To heal and be safe. Till the compound is compromised Good tense plot of who and how did they know the layout of the compound…..Good series
5 stars for Heroes for Hire: Books 7-9 by Dale Mayer
One of the best ways to read an excellent can't put down series with amazing characters is in a box set. The heroines are amazeballs and kick ass. Love the men too. Lol. Each storyline kept you on the edge of your seat. You needed to keep reading. Harrison and Zoe and Saul and Rebel and Dakota and Bailey are totally deserving of finding love. Can't wait for the next instalment of Heroes for Hire.
I really like this series and this author. Although Saul's story I really really didn't like Rebel. Not one iota. Just seemed to me a not very nice person and just stupid. I had a really hard time reading that story. I made it through and at least ended this book with a good story.
Ok seriously addicted to these books with their honourable sexy men and strong feisty women and their amazing code of conduct plus so want to be sitting at Alfred table can almost smell the food 💖💖💖
Mr. Mayer has done it again. The characters continue to flow through the continuing series and I love them! The action sometimes is predictable but still very gripping. The romance so dreamy softening the expected violence.
Each standalone story is so good, it almost doesn't matter where you start. The characters are all attractive and the storyline grabs your interest. The underlying plot is a balance between fun, excitement, and core values.
I love this series and these three were wonderful. Great storylines, lots of action, Warm characters and people finding out that life doesn't always go as planned!
So glad the books are grouped by threes. As I finished each one, I wanted more. They are so realistic & detailed, I felt like I was in the room with them.
another great set of books in this series. from the heroines who named help but end up being stronger in their own right to the men who help them and find thier one.
Hero's ready to defend defeat, and disable trouble while saving the damsel of their dreams. Unexpected interest flourished during rescues for these hero's of Legendary Security. Every hero is willing to defend to the death.
