Don't believe the books cover. This book is not actually about tatty tales on people, but about a person who use to tatty tale secrets and now she tells herself the tattletale. And the mystery starts in the first chapter, so you do not have to wait for anything.
I had to read a youth mystery for a class I'm taking and this was on my kids' shelf. I was very disappointed with this book. The "mystery" only exists because the adults were acting stupidly. There are plenty of good mysteries out there without resorting to this!
