I love it when I am pleasantly surprised by a book. Hayley Faiman is a new to me author so I had no idea what to expect but I really enjoyed this one.

Jessa grew up in the tiny town of Grant Nebraska, so when she gets a scholarship to The University of Nebraska it's a big deal. Jessa has had a rough start to life raised by a single mum who didn't really care about her, at 15 she comes home from school to find her mother has just up and left her. Jessa's has a boyfrie
I'm totally in the minority with my review! This was such a struggle for me I don't even know where to start. I struggled with this book, in particular the OTT way the characters were caricatured. They were either very, very bad or very, very good - no normal, balanced people here, it was a circus or like being at the panto it got so ridiculous.

Let's break this down ...
- Jessa is an angelic, long suffering doormat extraordinaire to Trent, the mutha of all tools.
- Trent is abusive, controlling

Sissy's Romance Book Review
Personal Foul by Hayley Faiman is the First book in the Forbidden Love series. This is the story of Jessa and Cole. Jessa mother up and left her when she was a teenager and her boyfriends parents took her in at the age of 14. Trent never let Jessa forget it and was abusive to him. When Trent went off to college she had to go to the same College. There Trent became worse and as a up and coming football player he wanted to be in the in crowd and started to put pressure on her to be more open to hi ...more

I think this story is a bit far out of my comfort zone after Faiman's mafia series. The age difference between the hero and heroine is too much for me also. I think if the two factors were not such a buzz kill for me, I could like this story.

Please consider other reviews if on the fence regarding purchase. This review is my PERSONAL OPINION of this story only. My opinion should have ZERO influence on your experience with Personal Foul. Consider reading the story for yourself.

I really struggled with this book. Not only was it over the top, but very cringe worthy. I could not stand the way they all called each other lovey dovey names straight away or how they just shoved their hands down each other's pants as soon as they saw each other.
I personally could not wait for it to be finished.
I have read other reviews and it looks like I am in a minority with not liking it. Oh well each to their own!

So this is my first Hayley Faiman book and I have to say I loved it. Personal Foul brought out a hard issue when it comes to teenage and college-age relationships with men and woman being forced into things they have no idea how to get out of. In this case, it is Jessa and her relationship with Trent, someone she has been with since the age of 14 and felt that she owed him her love and body. Trent being this man that thought he is owed everything including Jessa's body and soul for nothing made ...more

I have been a fan of Hayley Faiman’s books for a while now, and Personal Foul is just another addition to the books I like/love by her. Personal Foul is emotional, it is filled with chemistry, it has some drama and it has characters that pull you into the story so deeply that you can’t help but not want to put it down. Jessa and Cole and dare I say it even Trent will have you wanting to scream, shout for joy and will have your feelings on overdrive. The connection and chemistry between Jessa and ...more

this wasn't at all what I expected, I loved this book. Jessa is a sweet , naive girl who loves hard but doesn't know how to say no or live for herself, being stuck in a relationship she knows is toxic but he's done so much for her and his family as well but when she meets Cole and how he treats her she begins to become stronger and stand up for herself and what she wants and needs. Cole knows his feelings for Jessa aren't conventional but he can't help it, and he knows that Jessa is his forever ...more

This book is great! I loved it so much, and could not put it down.

I always love a good sports romance, and Personal Foul was no exception. It was a wonderful read, addicting too!

I loved the book. It was dramatic, and it drew me in. It seemed action packed from the very beginning and the emotion in the story had my heart filling full of emotion.

I loved this book so much. Five stars!

The characters stories drew me in and Jessa and Cole were perfect characters. I loved her shyness, and it worked w

Woof. Couldn't do it.
too much time is spent with the heroine, and her young boyfriend. I just didn't care, and she just seems way too stupid.

I loved this book. I was skeptical at first because there is cheating in this book, a big age difference between characters and it takes place at a college. All three things are normally turn offs for me and not something I read, but I love every book that Hailey has written so of course I gAve it a chance. This book was sooo good. I understood the cheating and why the character did it. May not make it right, but I get it. The age difference kinda bothered me, but I got past it real quick once I ...more

“Personal Foul” is my first read of Hayley Faiman’s. I was so, incredibly impressed, and I will be buying more of her work, without a single hesitation. Honestly, even after only reading the first few chapters, I wanted to contact the author to tell her how much I LOVED this book.

The characters were amazing! I felt these characters; some good and some not good at all. I found myself wanting, desiring, talking to, enamored with and hoping for the characters. I took a very protective stance with

Jessa Peterson was abandoned by her mother when she was 15 years old and she moved into the house of her boyfriend, Trent Keller. Due to that, no matter how bad he treats her, Jessa feels like she owes Trent and can not leave him.

Cole Bronson is 38 and the offensive coach for the football team that Trent plays on. He was in a relationship with Brittany for a year but broke up but they continue to get together for sex for the past year although it means more to Brittany than it does Cole.

Hot OM/YW romance

Some spoilers throughout............

▪️Jess was a great heroine as the story progressed. She was only 18 but she matured well throughout the story dealing with her baggage.

▪️Cole was😍😍😍. A strong possessive hero who takes charge and goes after what he wants. I loved how he talked everything out with Jess so we don’t see many of those dumb misunderstandings that are always thrown into romance these days.

▪️The sex was explosive. Amazing chemistry 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Hayley Faiman is a new author to me, and I'm really glad I stumbled across this little gem.

I truly enjoyed the story and the author's writing style was very easy to follow. But I will say, I struggled emotionally in the beginning. Not because of the story itself, but with how naive the main character, Jessa, was. I got how she ended up with Trent and his family and how she truly felt obligated to them, but I literally wanted to jump into the story and shake the poor girl.

I hated Trent from the

So Mrs. Faiman hits it out of the park with another one. Or maybe I should say kicks it out of the park with this one. I will admit that I'm not a football fan (professional or college) so I tend to stay away from football themed books. But come on I couldn't stay away from this one, because I love all of Mrs. Faiman's books. Also if you're a fan of the hero being older than the heroine than this book is for you.

I have to admit I was quite surprised finding out that Mrs. Faiman her female lead

I like this book. I think it started out really strong. Sweet girl, Jessa, abandoned by her parents moves in with boyfriend, Trent, and his family. He holds that over her head and tells her that she owes him everything because of it. When they go off to college he is playing football and starts to get out of control. He is such a jerk that you really don’t even feel bad when she cheats on him with one of his coaches, Cole. Although he is 20 years older than Jessa, he feels a connection to her th ...more

So I'm surprised I gave this book a 4 star rating, when I first started reading it and it got to when Cole meet Jessa, I was a bit creeped out. I mean, I'm 38 and I don't think I could date someone who is 18. Yes Jessa is mature but still I wasn't sure if I could continue the story or not. I pushed thru and by the end I was a little happier about the book. Jessa and Cole despite the age difference, really are made for each other. Jessa supports him and encourages him to do the right thing. She g ...more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the brilliant Hayley Faiman's writing whether it be baseball, Bratva families, or MC stories, but now she's upped her own ante with her newest story about football! Personal Foul follows the story of Jessa, who stays in a relationship with an abusive boy because she feels like she owes it to his parents, who have been good to her. And Cole, a football coach at the college she attends, who wants more for her. There, that's all I'm saying about that, just read the blurb. In true H ...more

Dont get me wrong I did not agree with what happened in this book. But it was a very good book.I absolutely loved Cole. Okay, so no beating around the bush. Let's just get down to the nitty gritty. I absolutely LOVED the fact that this was a forbidden romance. A college girl and an older man. They just seem to work and can give each other exactly what is needed.

Let's just address the elephant in the room ... Trent is a douche. Oh my gosh. I wanted to throat punch that man on several occasions. The way that he treated Jessa was beyond ridiculous. He used her for his disposal until she realized that this relationsh

Jessa was "saved" by her boyfriends family and Trent never let her forget it, so when he asked her to be with someone other than him she doesn't know what to do. The first time Jessa saw Cole who happens to be Trent's football coach, she felt the connection. Should Jessa stay with her cheating and abusive boyfriend or will she take a chance on something new with Cole? When I first started reading this book and found cheating invol

I really enjoyed this book! A bit of a taboo, a sort of student/professor (college coach) and an age difference. I love reading things that are taboo or sometimes social unexceptable it makes for an interesting element in a  story.
I am usually not one for a book with cheating but in this story I am so happy it happened. Jessa was stuck in a relationship through guilt to a boy who was d#ck in the worst ways. Trent is very high on my list of characters I hate.
Now Cole I really liked him he wanted
