Princess Scarlett Marion is broken. Drugs, sex, alcohol—she uses everything possible to numb the pain from her past, but it never seems to help. When Lord Carrick Trudeau pays her dowry, she finds herself in a position she never thought possible. He’s older, darker and seems to know exactly what to do to make her feel amazing, not like the broken little girl she actually is.
Things change quickly when she finds out Carrick isn’t just one of many in line for the throne, he’s going to be the next king. And soon. That means she’s going to be the next queen. When push comes to shove, how is Scarlett supposed to overcome her past and become the leader she’s supposed to be?
Romance writer. Wife. Mother of two. Avid reader. Queen of multitasking.
Originally from the south, Alyson likes to incorporate what she knows into her books. She's lived not only on the east coast, but the west coast and a few places in between. Alyson loves sharing stories about her crazy family to anyone who will listen. Her guilty pleasures consist of coffee, country music, brunch, breaking the rules, and pedicures. And she will always be a daddy's girl.
When Alyson isn't chasing around her two kiddos, she's normally writing. Or reading. Her Kindle library is out of control. Alyson writes mainly contemporary novels and novellas with a bit of new adult mixed in.
Carrick’s uncle is dying and his death will make Carrick King of the country, since he’s the only heir. He needs to find a Queen first and he believes Scarlett is the perfect woman for him. Carrick has always had a crush on Scarlett, so he gladly paid her dowry. He hopes that she feels something for him and he can’t wait to have a future with her.
Scarlett has been drunk or doing drugs a lot lately, until Carrick puts a stop to it. She can’t believe that Carrick wants to marry her. Scarlett has been attracted to him for many years, but never expected that he felt the same way. She is a little hesitant because it’s sudden, but the feelings are too strong.
I loved Scarlett and Carrick. Carrick is an amazing man. He’s strong, determined and protective. He knows what he wants. He’s ready to be King, but he hates to lose his uncle who raised him. Scarlett is sweet, insecure, loving and a little damaged. She’s close to her sister. She loves to go out and meet other people.
I adored Scarlett and Garrick together. There is a big age difference between them, but it didn’t bother them (or me). They are so good to each other. Carrick knows what Scarlett is going through and he gives her the time to get use to the idea of becoming a Queen. Scarlett loves Carrick just like he is and she’s there for him.
Taming the Princess is quick, hot and a little touching. I really liked this book a lot and I can’t wait to read the nex book in this series. For me, there was a little too much push and pull since it’s only about 100 pages long.

What can I say about this girl that I haven't said before? Humm... Let me think... Jeez I'm still thinking... Lol The best thing I can say is that her writing has become even more amazing and intense. She's the bomb. Alyson Reynolds has an intense, beautiful and heartfelt writing that will make you feel things and wish things like that happens to you. I know that I can sound repetitive but I honestly don't care. She's amazing and everyone should be aware of that. Her latest release is called Taming The Princess and jeez Louise... What a book... This book tells the stories of Scarlett and Carrick. Scarlett is a troublemaker with a capital T because between drugs and alcohol she's doomed. But behind this obscure addiction she hides her past but nothing seems to help, well that's until Carrick. Carrick is supposed to be the next king after his uncles passing. But for that to happen he needs a Queen. And who does he think is suitable to that spot? Non other than Scarlett, the broken girl with an obscure pass and a dark present. Can he fulfil his wish? Can she rise from the ashes and be herself and free? I'm free alright... free and happy and so much more. This book... This book is freaking amazing like I suspected it would be. The plot is very well written, with some love, suspense and some hot stuff into the mix. The story progressed in a way that made me read it non stop. I wanted to see if Carrick would be well succeeded or if he would fail. And guess what? He.... You really thought I was gonna tell you? Ah ah.. Dream on. Oh boy Alyson... You nailed it. This book is so different from your other books and I loved every freaking word of it. Just tell me one thing!! When will we have Ava's book? Because I'm dying to find out what she's hiding... I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Carrick is about to be King as his uncle is dying and he needs a Queen. He has pined after Scarlett from afar for awhile so who better, so he pays her dowry. But he wants her to CHOOSE to marry him. Scarlett has had a crush on Carrick for a long time, but she won't be tamed so easily.
A lot of push and pull and yet it keeps it light and fun and overall there is a little drama. This is a short book, about 100 pages, so it can easily be read in one sitting. I love her sister Ava as well, she adds that fun layer as Scarlett's older sister. While Scarlett's past wasn't always roses, there weren't TOO many details but enough for you to understand what he life was like up until that point.
Carrick is quite a bit older then Scarlett, but it doesn't bother them or me, the book flowed nicely and had a nice conclusion.
The blurb for this one intrigued me, with its mix of modern setting with some kind of Royal family's traditions (dowry and clubbing just don't usually go together in my mind). Add in a damaged character struggling to deal with her pain and I was hooked.
This was my first book by this author so I didn't really know what to expect. I liked the characters and thought the author did a great job in the space she had, but I really wanted more. It just felt a little like I got dropped into the middle of the story, as there was a lot of background that was hinted at but we don't get to see. Great if you're looking for a quick, hot read. 4 stars
