Beautifully written and engaging from the first line.

Suspense, mystery, and well-defined characters make Hogan's Winter Queen a page turner! I can't wait to read book2. Well done!!

This book was just SO good!! Each of the Sundragon sisters had a distinct personality and a unique role to play in the quest to take the throne back from the usurper who killed their father, and I loved how their stories started to weave together towards the end. Hogan's intricate world-building added so much complexity and interest, and her beautiful writing style kept me engaged throughout. Despite the pervading darkness and impossible decisions faced by the characters, an underlying sense of ...more

I was sucked in from the first chapter. Sisters bound by magical forces. Brother pitted against brother. And a kingdom ruled by an evil king hangs in the balance. The story is brought to life with elegant descriptions and neverending twists and turns. You'll be sucked in too.

I enjoyed this mix between a fairy tale and fantasy novel. Too bad it ended on a cliffhanger, but I guess I will just have to wait for the next one! I gave this book a second look and I really deeply enjoyed the storyline, the prophecies, and the magic linking the sisters. It truly was a feminist fantasy that ended in the first tragedy foretold by the prophecies. Very good! I am adding this book to my favorites shelf!
