Dakota and Garrett... sigh...

So i couldn't connect with Garrett.. and Dakota was a doormat.. they were engaged then fast forward 4 years later they broke up due to Garrett and a misunderstanding between them.. dumb reason really.. instead of standing her ground when she meets up with him in a lonely empty hotel.. she gives in.. yes he said sorry.. but geez.. i would had him groveling more... another pet peeve.. they both said they still love each other.. but those 4 years apart Dakota mentioned she tried to move on.. and Garrett said he slept with random woman when he was drunk.. sooo yeah no..

A quick read about a dominant billionaire who lost the love of his life and comes to realize his mistakes and tries to redeem himself by investing in a dead town in order to win her back. Dakota is an undercover investigative reporter who messed up when she didn't come clean sooner and lost the love of her life. She tries to move forward but its proving to be difficult. She promises herself that she'll never kneel for a man again and when her editor sends her back to her hometown she realizes that she was lying to herself. This being a novella means there isn't a lot of character development and I did feel there was a few pieces of the puzzles missing but overall it was a pleasant and quick read.

The Delight
This short audio book got me to my destination and back home perfectly. It packs a lot in just a little over 2 hours at 1.5x speed. From a happy time to a bad time, I was transported with the characters and felt the agony and the triumph with them as well.


Review
The story starts off on a Christmas Eve when things are wonderful. Dakota is engaged to the one man who holds her submission and heart. But it all ends in a bang of heartbreak we don't see or hear. We jump instantly four years ahead when Dakota is now chasing a story about the benefactor to her home town....a run down home town. With a new hotel scheduled to open soon, she suspects the man who held her heart and broke it is up to something.

Garrett is a billionaire, estranged from his sister, betrayed by his fiance and now realizing he judges way to fast and bad things happen. When his sister ends up dying, he realizes he can't live without Dakota and goes about making things right the only way he can.

What struck me wrong is I never felt Garrett really believed Dakota about what happened. He was sorry for how he treated her and broke her heart, but not sorry for his feelings. It didn't strike me as a forgiveness that would last. Now he does give grand gestures, but then a billionaire can do that.

Dakota is a strong woman who gave her submission to a man she thought she love and who loved her. Now that they are reunited, I didn't quite feel the same love was in play. Too many hurtful things had been done and this short story didn't have enough time to right the wrongs.

This is a BDSM story and while there is spankings and commands, it is overtly harsh or sadistic. There are vanilla scenes as well, which I like to see even in BDSM stories as we can't always been in one mode or another.

Overall, it was a decent story that kept me entertained as I was driving. The narrators were new to me and did a great job of drawing me into this world and making me feel like I was in the room.

I received Snowbound With The Billionaire as an ARC in exchange for an honest review. Leaving her dismissal small town live behind, Dakota Fleming met wealthy businessman Garrett Lawler at a party in New York. After becoming in a BDSM relationship with him, she finds herself alone and leaves New York for DC. Four years later she returns to her small town roots to investigate who is behind an expensive hotel in the mountains not far from town. She has her suspicions but has no idea why. Garrett hits rock bottom and realizes his life is a mess and on,y one person can help him fix it.

I really liked Dakota’s character. She was always one to protect her emotions due to her past. Then after Garrett broke her heart she vowed to never get that to anyone again.

Garrett felt betrayed by Dakota after an incident that she never intended to happen. His life falls apart and he realizes how wrong it was to treat Dakota the way he did.

I really enjoyed this story and recommend it to those who enjoy reading erotica themed books.

Wow, this hot and sexy, second chance romance is smokin'! Ms Valente is the master at creating seductive characters with fiery passion and explosive sex! Snowbound with the Billionaire is the first novella in the Master Me series. But it is the third written.

Garrett and Dakota have a past, a past that catches up with Dakota as she goes back to the place she was raised with a feeling in her gut. He past catches up with her as the man that broke her heart four years ago is making her town a better place in part of a bid to win her back after realised what an idiot he had been.

Its a fast read book, will have you turning page after page and reading it in one fowl swoop as you will not be able to put it down.

I love her writing and I’m so lucky to be on her ARC team. She creates characters that are so full of life and have personalities and qualities that I look for in my circle of friends.
This series of hers is going to be such a fun one!
All the heat and laughs can be found in this installment.
This story takes you away to a place you long to be and it’s so much fun!
Highly recommend as always!

Snowbound with the Billionaire is the third book in the Master Me series. It actually takes place first in the timeline, so you will see other characters who already have their stories. If you haven't read the Master Me series, you need to! This is Garrett and Dakota's story. Four years ago they were engaged to be married and then it all fell apart leaving Dakota heartbroken and alone. She's back home for the holidays only to run into Garrett again. All the old feelings come rushing back, but she can't risk her heart again. Or can she? Garrett never stopped loving Dakota and he's determined to get her back. Whatever it takes. He just needs her to submit to him and realize they are meant to be. This is a dirty, filthy second chance love story and I loved every second of it. It has all the hotness, sweetness, sexiness, dirtiness and fun that we expect from Lili Valente.

I want to submit to Garrett. Wow what a great book Lili has brought us again. This gives us Dakota and Garrett's story. Garrett is a Billionaire who demands to be in total control and Dakota is a journalist who has never given up her control but with Garrett she is totally submissive to him. Hot doesn't even begin to describe this book. The passion between these two will melt your e-reader. But can that heat last? Unfortunately life happens and things fall apart then fast forward 4 years, can they get past the hurt or heat they shared? So many emotions wrapped up in these characters. I was given a copy of the ARC to voluntarily read and give my honest opinion. I loved this book and highly recommend it.

Snowbound with the Billionaire, by Lili Valente is a 152-page contemporary BDSM (more on the DSM) romance novel and is the first book out of a 3-part series called "Master Me". It is written from a first-person POV, two-sided.

That's right folks, another new author for me. The book is short and sweet--okay, not sweet...there's explicit DSM involved...so...instead of sweet, let's call it short and dirty.

Spoilers Ahead ***

Another book low on the character arc growth...I swear I do read books that have amazing character growth, just not the ones I've been reading lately. And the books I am choosing are relatively random. Just trying new people out and seeing how it goes. I want to branch out and see how others write.

Dakota grew up in a fictional town in Virginia called, Harry. From what you can surmise this place is a dying/dead miner's town and the town sounds like there is a high amount of drug usage among its population. According to Dakota, those that were smart enough got out and never returned. So why did she? She's supposed to be doing an exposé piece on whoever is building a fancy spa in Harry. The book does start off with her doing the deed with the other protagonist and right off the bat you can see who the dominant is.

Garrett is a billionaire (that's right, -illionaire with a 'b') hotel owner who is trying to pump up money into Harry as a means of making up how Dakota and he ended things four years ago. Right from the get-go he's super likeable and you can tell he regrets what happened between him and his love interest.


Overall, the characters were likeable, but damn that pesky character arc is lacking.

Generally, here are my thoughts:
1. I really enjoyed the style of Valente's style, it's actually kind of similar to mine. Straightforward and smart dialogue with just enough exposition for you to get the full picture of the scene or the character
2. Not much expression on character or why they broke up. You can figure it out, but it's nice for the author to do more than just hint at it. It would be great to see the two protagonists face it head on and resolve the issues. It felt like they brushed it under the rug
3. Sex scenes were minimal, but it was less than 160 pages so it would have been funny if there was sex on every page. Classic DSM, nipple clamps, lots of sirs, and "beg me to come", etc, etc

In summary, I give this a 3 out of 5. I'm all for letting readers figure stuff out, but not to the point of never addressing the full issue directly. I get it was a short book, but there was soooo much room to show more of the characters and their emotions that was missed. I'm sure it was intentional, maybe this style of book is meant to be short and dirty. I'm sure there's a demographic out there that appreciates it. I love a good sex scene, but I really do appreciate good character development too.

Snowbound with the Billionaire is a second chance romance that melts your panties while claiming your heart. Dakota is the small town girl that has lived a not so pleasant life before meeting Garrett. Garrett is the sexy, alluring billionaire that has fallen head over heals for the feisty blue eyed brunette. All is perfect in their life, until Garrett discovers Dakota's true intentions, so he thinks. Without a second thought, Garrett's pride and dignity take precedence and Dakota finds herself broken hearted and alone.
Fast forward four years later and Dakota finds herself back in the town she left behind without a thought. The town that was filled with old ghosts and way too many bad memories. As a reporter it's her job to chase a story, and that is what has brought her back to her hometown. I secret beneficiary is fixing a hotel in her drug infested and rundown town and Dakota is determined to find out why. To her surprise, that someone is the last person she thought she would see again. Stranded together in the hotel, Garrett and Dakota reacquaint themselves. Old memories, wishes and hopes blossom but is it enough for either of them to come out of this a second time whole? Can Dakota trust Garrett again and allow her heart to feel for him? Can Garrett prove to Dakota that he was a fool and has learned from his past mistakes? Lili Valente once again has delivered a sexy, sweet, steamy love story that leaves you wanting more.

Another steamy addition to the Master Me series.

Although this is Book #1 since it's the first one in the timeline - you may already be familiar with this series since it's the 3rd book to be released. It was fun to realize that Ten's story was going to take place soon after the end of this one (that was the first book to release). Each one completely stands alone.

This is a novella - so it is a shorter read. Although I did wish that we learned more about Dakota and Garrett's past - it was alluded to, but I wanted the deets.

Garrett and Dakota were engaged, but then he felt betrayed and brutally cut her out of his life. It's now four years later and he's gone to rather extreme means to try and win her back. Will he succeed? You'll have to get the book to find out.

This was a steamy, but quick BDSM affair...just in time for the holidays. ;-)

Snowbound with the Billionaire is part of the Master Me series by Lili Valente. All of these books are standalones and can be read in any order but Ms. Valente suggests reading this one first. 

Garrett and Dakota were made for each other. They understand how the other one ticks but Garrett broke up with Dakota out of nowhere years ago and ever since she has been broken. He will do whatever it takes to get her back but will she listen to him? He knows how to make her listen one orgasm at a time. 

Oh my! This book is HOT!!! It's a quick read full of naughtiness and a story that will leave you wanting more. There's a reason I always read anything Lili Valente writes and this book is a prime example. Yes you get lots of steamy scenes that are well written but it adds to the story and isn't the whole story like some other books I have read. If you like your books steamy and love a happy ending, I would highly recommend this book!

I love Lili Valente's dominant characters. She just has a way of writing strong and dominant men who you just can't help but fall in love with.

Garrett and Dakota have a hot and heavy relationship but it all falls apart when the secrets Dakota has been keeping come to light. Four years later Dakota has tried to move on with her life but she still misses the Dom/sub relationship she shared with Garrett. With no hope of rekindling their past she heads back to her quiet and desolate hometown to investigate a billionaire with promises to rejuvenate the town. And as fate would have it the billionaire in question just happens to be the man from her past.

Could this be Dakota's chance to fix the mistakes of the past and put her ghosts to rest?

Such a dirty book!

Boy howdy does Lili Valente know how to write a dirty book. This is the third novella in the Master Me series, and it is by far the dirtiest of them all. A second chance romance with a controlling alpha man, SIGN me up today!!! Whenever a book like this comes along I feel like Katniss Everdeen in the Hunger Game..... "I volunteer as tribute" because let me tell you, I would let Garrett do just about anything to me. If only he were a real man.
Garrett has seated himself in my top 5 all-time favorite book boyfriends, and while he didn't handle himself all that well with Dakota the first time they were together, he definitely made it up by gaining her attention and her heart the second time around. He knew how to gain her trust and heart. It was super sweet, to say the least.

I love this author’s ability to blend sexy, scorching heat with strong emotion to make a love cocktail like no other! And in the latest Master Me instalment, Dakota and Garrett meet again, brought together by the very thing that drove them apart…

“Maybe I won’t live through Garrett again, but I’m tired of living without him.”

Going home means so many different things to Dakota, and not everything is a good memory. It seems almost fated that Garrett would be there, plotting and planning, hoping to find new ground between them. A walk down memory lane and a reminder that love endures…

This is a quick read but there is nothing missing in this novella that jumps into rekindled love and passion with both feet first. The only thing I could ask for is… more!

Snowbound with the Billionaire is the third novella in the Master Please series and probably my favorite to date in this series. A second chance romance that lit up my kindle and seized my heart, Valente delivered on all fronts and penned a brilliant journey.

Garrett and Dakota were right in every way... with exploding chemistry and page turning heat. The feels were so real and I devoured every moment they gave me.

If you haven't read Lili then you are totally missing out!

Holy hotness Batman! This is a seriously sexy, steamy read!! It is off the charts hot and erotic! The chemistry and dynamic between Garrett and Dakota is just nothing short of WOW! They are incredibly explosive together sexually. It is clear how much they love each other. It appears they have everything, until they don't. Dakota is left ruined

I loved this storyline. It's a little different from what we normally see from Ms. Valente, but oh so wonderful. I really enjoyed the fact that we see the beginning of their love story from when it first began before we find out that they have been separated nearly four years. You really want to pick this one up as soon as you can. Hot and spicy mixed in with misunderstanding, angst and make-up sex (or is it revenge sex???). Only one way to find out—read the book.

I won an ARC of this book in a random draw. This is not my first Lili Valente book. I have enjoyed reading a few of her other books and this novella did NOT disappoint. It is a quick, red-hot read with two enticing and engaging main characters. One of the things I love about Lili's books is how her characters effortlessly grab your attention and make you want to know everything about them. Once you start reading, there's no stopping until you see "The End." I found Snowbound with the Billionaire to be a very satisfying read. Grab it and enjoy!

A HOT holiday read

This novella is perfect for the BDSM lover who wants some holiday cheer built in.

This was my first taste of this author and I know I will be reading more of her books.

This was an extremely HOT and sexy read. Perfect to pass a couple hours with. I was pleasantly surprised with the length of this story the amount of depth the author went into with the characters and storyline. This novella really isn’t missing anything.

I just wish it had a little more Christmas cheer in it.

A nice quick holiday read with a lot of heat! What could be better then being snowed in with a billionaire and the man who once owned your heart. Dakota and Garrett both do a lot of healing in this book. It's beautiful to watch them reconnect, but will the past be too much for them to overcome? If you like your books with a lot of heat and some kink then this one will be perfect for you because it delivers. It's a great second chance romance with the magic of the holiday season.

Garrett made a mistake, he couldn't forgive Dakota and he lost her.

Four years later, she's standing outside his new project, a hotel in the town Dakota used to call home. She's still hurt and angry about the way he dropped her. He's trying to get her back after realizing that he lost the best thing that had ever happened to him.

This is their short love story. It's surprisingly deep for a novella and hot as sin. A perfect Christmas read.

I love the depth of character, and perhaps that's why I hate it that Garret got to hurt Dakota so much and yet he seems to get forgiveness so easily. He should have groveled and suffered more. Maybe he had, but I didn't read about it and it made me extremely unbalanced and angry about the story. But the story was very well-written, I'm sure people who are less vindictive then me will find it very enjoyable.

This story is funny, sexy and all things Lili Valente! She is an incredible story teller and when you her words you feel like you are right in it with the characters.
