Ivy Gaines has loved one man in her lifetime. After fifteen years of marriage and three kids, reality hasn’t changed that—but sometimes love isn’t enough.
West “Camo” Gaines has never wanted anyone the way he wants his wife, but the Notorious Devils’ club life has opened his eyes and awakened a desire he knows he can’t explore with the mother of his children.
Lies, misunderstanding, betrayal and silence are the bitter pills they swallow daily as the marriage they thought would last forever begins to unravel. It isn’t until club rivalries threaten to shatter their entire world that they realize how much they have to fight for.
When things get rough and real, they’re forced to remember just how deep their love goes.

Hayley Faiman was born and raised in the Central Valley of California. She and her husband met when they were still in High School. They were married a few years later. They lived in Oregon while her husband was in the US Coast Guard. After living in Hill Country, Texas, for eight years and three years in East Texas, they now call North Carolina home and spend their time with their two teenage sons at all their events, screaming from the stands as they swim their hearts out!
Shave that beard and find a job, That's what my grandpa would say. This is my suggestion to the hero. The book was a mess, the writer made a mess of it. The hero and the heroine have been married for 15 years, they are in their 40s and he's having a middle age crisis. But it's all so badly dealt with. The hero is- would be- so in love with his wife and so happy with his family of wife and 3 children but you know, for years he's been having this fantasy, to have sex with his wife in front of other people and maybe share her with another man. That is, ok , nothing wrong with having sexual fantasies, who hasn't had any in their life? It's not a sin, it's quite the norm. The hero though, since he's member of the usual MC where sex and money are easy (we don't really know what they do to earn all this money, but whatever, it's surely something that leaves the hero with so much time at his disposal) has been watching other people have sex with multiple partner in his clubhouse. Since his job leaves him so much time free he's been watching every single day these live porn, and dreaming of doing with his wife. Feeling guilty because he doesn't tell her what he wants, and feeling frustrated because he knows he would debase his wife if he asked her to comply with this kind of desires. Now there's this thought in my mind that maybe- maybe- if he worked a lil bit harder and longer hours during his day, he would go home, have a shower, and not think too much about those desires of his. Maybe he would also talk to his wife about it and listen to what she has to say about it. But no. Since he's nothing to do all day long, he watches non stop live porn until his eyes pop out of his head. Really dude, it's time you found a job, a serious one, please. You've got family. The wife. Oh this woman. She hears him telling one of his friends that women get fat after you marry them, and she thinks he's referring to her since she's got some pounds after her third child, so she's hurt and thinks he doesn't like her anymore and yes, she does the right thing, she goes to the gym and loses her extra pounds and feels better. Then she finds out his "lil vice" and she thinks he's also doing some ow, since in his club there's plenty of whores, yes, whores, that is something I find disgusting and sexist. Because they are used by members of MC. Like object. Disgusting and sexist. Whatever. The hero is not cheating on her but is idiot enough to think he has to leave his wife and break his family because of this desire of his. I mean, how shallow is a man like that? And he tells his wife just that. That he doesn't know if he can stay with her because of this sexual whim. So, sex for him is more important that love, respect, family, everything? Do I want a man like this in my life? No! Absolutely no! The wife, instead of trying to reason with him, acts like a complete doormat and tells him she will accept anything he wants, included the sex in front of op. Ok, so now I'm the wife and I tell him that since I love hurting my man during sex, either I can cane his balls during sex, or I want a divorce and go find a man who wants to be caned in his balls. Is this for real??? What was the writer thinking? No way it's believable that he loves his wife if he only just think about leaving her for a sexual fantasy! No way! What if she were sick and couldn't have sex for some time??? How much important is a sexual fantasy for this man, no, the question is not correct! How little does he care for his wife and family? Because if a man is ready to leave and has been neglecting not only his wife but also his children for years because he doesn't have a sexual variation it means he doesn't care for them AT ALL. And if I were his wife I would ask for a divorce and that's it. The writer tries to save the book making up a man who lusts after the heroine (and the heroine eventually gives in), some MC stuff as kidnapping, rival things, attempted murders and gory details, ew, ok, and eventually those two kiss and make up and agree to some kinky stuff, and the hero realizes she's anyway more important than his sexual perversions. Jeez, thank god. Nope, this one really doesn't work for me. -inconsistency 1. The hero says he loves the heroine so much but he had already made up his mind to leave her - just for the sake of some sexual fantasy. No way. -inconsistency 2. The heroine changes her looks, has new friends, finds a job (at least one in the family that works!) but when the hero is concerned she's a complete doormat and she doesn't have any self respect! No way, again. And she cheats on him. Ok, just saying... I'm not a fan of this kind of MC books, I don't love the sexism, the use of women (called "whores") because it's not "free" sex, is more a harem where women are never respected. And the bullying methods used with their wives is disgusting and unacceptable in real life, even in lowlife like those people obviously are. Sorry if I'm bitchy but this is really too much for me.
Ugh, you know you've got a problem Zero Hero when his fellow biker bros tell him to go home, talk to your wife, wave at your kids....something! Unfortunately, poor woe is me hero would rather stay and watch the live porno show at the club than take care of his family. Even with the possibility of danger hitting the families he gets a prospect to watch over them which ends up being a BIG mistake.
The heroine basically changes herself for her loser husband. Loses about 20 lbs and becomes obsessed with working out because she overhears him calling her fat and ends up doing menage crap because, bottom line, he's not coming home without it.
So this is one of my early cheating tropes, and I'm trying to update ratings so it doesn't discourage other authors from writing. In the interest of honesty, I've never liked anything from this author, lol.
The blurb doesn't misrepresent the book, but the writing was flat IMO. It was kinda cardboardy (not a word, I know, but that's the best way I can describe my feelings.) I never really FELT any angst but was TOLD a lot about it. Probably just me though because it's got a lot of glowing reviews.
LOVED LOVED this one!!! I have to be honest and say I was nervous where this one was going to go. With a nervous stomach I started it. Let me just say that Hayley knocks it out of the park with this one! She knows how to end a series on a high note and leave you smiling at the end.
West and Ivy have been together for years and have a beautiful family. Let's just say that West has some issues that he needs to work through. He will have you screaming and wanting to throw your kindle. Ivy, I just really love her. She is dedicated to her family but she can only take so much.
Hayley weaves a story that will take your emotions on a ride. This is a fantastic end to a great series!
I am really going to miss this series...... This was one hot read from cover to cover and we loved it and it had a superb ending to a great series! We are hoping this author has another MC series in store for us in the near future.
This story had everything a MC romance needs to make it exciting and enticing and super hot along with having a amazing cast of characters present and past. This was such a touching romance story that you could not help but feel emotional about its characters and their marriageable problems.I am sure a lot of married couples like myself have gone where Ivy and West have gone so I was really able to relate to them.I loved how Ivy took charge of her life and decided to make changes to her benefit and hers alone. West aka Camo on the other hand I just wanted to smack up side of the head for the mistakes he continued to make regarding his treatment of Ivy and that of his kids.
I always pick a favorite character as my top favorite and mine is going to be Ivy.I loved everything about Ivy and her character for the onset of the story.I found Ivy to be strong and independent, intelligent, kind, caring,I loved how she loved so fiercely both her kids and husband.I loved how she was determined to make a happy life with or without West.I loved no matter what trouble she and West were experiencing and even his blatant disregard for her she never stop loving him.My heart just broke for Ivy and how she was treated and how she must have felt defeated and depressed knowing sometimes love just isn't enough.
West aka Camo really pissed me off.I have to stay I was all the way team Ivy.West could have avoided so such much pain and suffering that he had caused Ivy if he had just trusted her enough to talk to her about how he was feeling regarding his heart along with how he needed something more from their current sex life. What really ticked me off about West is how he constantly did everything to make Ivy feel like shit yet kept having sex with her and constantly reminding her she belonged to him all the while he planned on leaving her.How messed up is he? I have to say that I liked West as a character up to this point but, this current story my feelings toward him were not ones of like and I want to say as the story progressed he did not redeem himself in my eyes.
This story was engrossing from the onset of the story and had you get emotionally attached to its characters.I loved being on Ivy and West's journey and it just proves to you what the say is true sometimes love is not enough and their story could have ended way differently then it did.Ivy and West's problems were not easy ones to overcome its just that Ivy was willing to at least explore sexually that gave their marriage a chance at all.I have to say that my heart went out to Ivy more than once in this story and I wanted to be right along side of her sheeding tears for her and with her.
Regardless of the trouble this couple were experiencing they were hot is hell together in and out of the bedroom and the sparks and chemistry was always there and the love they shared with one another quite evident .This is something a couple hopes to achieve or maintain after so many years together and yet feeling the way West did for his wife he was willing to through what that had away in a heartbeat yet, others only dream of what he already had!!
I have to make a special mention of Soar throughout this story as we saw just how much Soar has grown over this series as he was in a similar situation with his marriage and was offering marital advice was just to funny.Unlike West Soar redeemed himself in my eyes. Although his advice was genuine kind and based on his past experience trying to get West to listen to him was impossible.
Soar the ex drug addict man whore who cheated on his wife their entire marriage is now a reformed man giving marriage advice.I loved it!Priceless.....
I love when you can connect with the characters that you read about and I was able to do that with this cast of characters as we love them and even those we love to hate. For me when that happens I know I am going to love the story I am reading and I did just that.A page turner for sure. The author created a special and a emotional story for us to read and created and amazing ending to a series that we have grown to love and we are really are going to miss the characters that this author had created for us.One thing that is great about owning books is that you can bring them out and re-read them anytime you want to revisit your favorite characters over and over again.
A recommend read to all! Each and every story I have read by this author we have loved and we hope that whatever this author decides to create is another series for us to fall in love with all over again. One of the things I love about this author is the way she interacts with her fans and the way she takes an interest in them as much as she can.We love that about her and we hope she continues to Wow us with the stories she creates.
Just not my thing. I really don't understand all the high ratings. The hero in this book? Well, I could not get into him. He wanted what he wanted and that was it. And why is it that the vagina can't be penetrated, but anal is okay? Is it because one could get pregnant? Also, who wants to kiss someone after you've watched them perform oral on another person? Again, just not my cup of tea.
I wonder if it's going to be okay for this couple when their daughter's husband wants her to participate in the "free for all" room.

You can call it whatever you want but when it came right down to it, West was unfaithful to Ivy. Sitting around watching other women have sex for HOURS in the "free for all" room every day behind her back was a betrayal of their marriage. And when she caught him, and ran, all he did was shrug and think that it might be for the best. He was a weak, unfeeling dick to treat his wife that way after 15 years of marriage and 3 kids. He put his desire for kink before his wife and family and I didn't want to read a book where a man like that is considered to the the "romantic hero". There is NOTHING romantic about this book. If I could give it negative stars, I would.

Ivy has been married to West 'Camo' Gaines for 15 years, and has only ever loved him, but after life with 3 kids, maybe that love isn't enough anymore. She overhears him telling another brother not to get an old lady, as they let themselves go after having kids, and it hurts her, so she decides to change for herself. And while she's making changes to make herself feel better, West, is spending more time, exploring a kinky side at his club that he can't with the mother of his kids, and not coming home more & more. Now all of a sudden, their marriage is crumbling, and Ivy doesn't know how to save it when West isn't home to participate, then she starts to get to a place where she doesn't know if she wants to anymore as lies & silence is all she's getting, which leads to betrayals. But it's when their family is put in danger, will they remember how much they have to fight for? Hayley Faiman is one of my all time favorite authors, and I absolutely LOVE this series, so I was very sad to realize that this is the last book. But what an ending it was! Rough and Real was a seriously angst filled story that kept my emotions in my throat the whole time I was reading. I was so mad at West for his decisions, (and still kind of mad at him still) as he really just left them to fend for themselves when it got tough for him. So while Ivy made mistakes, she was basically abandoned, so I wasn't mad at her for them. My opinion came out of cause & effect, especially when even West's brothers at the Club were telling him he was messing up. Anyway, I feel like I'm taking sides with my friends going through divorce so I'll move on. The colorful cast of secondaries added depth & humor, especially the girls at the gym, which had me laughing a ton. Ms. Faiman was brilliant as usual with a story that held me hostage cover to cover, never moving until every word was devoured. Her twists were plentiful and around every corner, leaving me to sing colorful metaphors like a canary about a naval ship, and as an extra bonus, she had some extra content of the kids as adults which made my day! I wish there were more books in this series, but I know that she will come up with some brilliant new series that I'll love as much, but in the meantime, I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND ROUGH AND REAL TO ALL!
The premise of this book was based on the main characters facing a common problem after being married for 15 years. The relationship suffers because of lack of communication and falling into the rut of day to day parenting and losing sight of maintaining the relationship between husband and wife. He checks out as a parent and leaves it all to Ivy. He's seldom home and spending most of his time at the club. Ivy wakes up and decides to do the usual things a neglected wife usually does. She signs up for the gym and goes from an overweight wife to a woman who has a good body and feels good about herself. Both Ivy and Camo continuously go back and forth about leaving or staying to fight for the relationship. Of course, there's a multitude of things that threaten their family related to the club. Actually so many things it became almost unbelievable. I didn't like Camo at all. He was selfish and weak IMO. I thought Ivy was weak. She was too weak to leave and was willing to take whatever Camo dished out because she loved him. The book was very long and the attacks from different sources became unbelievable and was OTT IMO.
Camo becomes obsessed with his sexual attraction to what goes on in the "free for all" room at the clubhouse. However he's afraid to ask Ivy to participate. He doesn't go as far as having actual sex with another woman but spends a lot of time just watching and dreaming about watching other men pleasure Ivy. He thinks he can't ask her to do that for him because she's his wife and the mother of his kids. He's willing to leave his wife/children behind because of his obsession with the sharing. Finally, after numerous attacks on his family, he shares his desire with her. She agrees to go with him to the free for all room and "watch." Prior to that she has actual sex with the prospect assigned to guard her because Camo prefers to stay at the club instead of coming home. So they both end up going to the "free for all" room twice a month. They choose a different man each time. The man can do anything to Ivy, while Camo watches, except put his penis in her vagina. Everything else is wide open. They then become a close, loving couple and Camo resumes being a good Dad. Ivy, of course, suffers guilt for actually screwing the prospect.
Camo was so selfish at the beginning, he only thought of his WANTS instead of his family. Ivy kept begging him to talk but he would just love and go back to the clubhouse.
The come through the other side though. Through trial and error they learn what they can handle.
I did seriously feel bad about Derek. I understand he slept with Ivy but why the he'll was Camo really so mad? Derek didn't deserve what he got.
No! God No! I really don't even want to write a review for this because it was that bad and wish I could erase it from my memory. Horrible way to end the series. Camo in my opinion was the worst Hero in this series. Mind you I haven't read book 2-4, so my opinion could change. But seriously? This man wants to end his marriage because he thinks his wife won't bend to his kink of open sex and sharing her? Why is everything based on sex in this series with everyone's marriage? Where is the respect for his wife? He was a man child, and of course we have the h Ivy agreeing in the end to be shared in the orgie room once a month to please her husband because all of a sudden she's an exhibitionist. There's zero transition with these unrealistic plots. He's a cheater in my eyes. Don't care what anyone says. He's been in the orgie room with live porn getting off for months not coming home, giving himself away emotionally. That's cheating. Then Ivy physically cheats with the prospect who's guarding her because asshat refuses to come home. I honestly felt sorry for Derek getting involved with these two. Even if he pursued Ivy knowing she's married. Camo ends up sharing her with him in the orgie room then the next day beats him so bad that he loses an eye. Then he turns bat shit crazy because of them. But I was expecting the author to pull that one of course. 🥴 This book was just gross. I honestly thought it would be better.
Hayley has OUT DONE herself. I loved this story and it’s twist and turns. Things I never saw coming. And the little book at the end OMG squee!!! I want so much more of Rosie and Bailey. They are so young and sweet. I have no words. I hate that this series is over.
Okay, this is a marriage in trouble story but from the 12% I’ve read so far the MMC has been feeding his fantasies more than he has been feeding his marriage. So just like book 6, which is the only other book I’ve read by this author and from this series, the MMC is selfish. Oh joy…
The fact that the author is pushing that he hasn’t cheated is ludicrous. He HAS been cheating. Emotionally, and neglectfully. The MMC has made a decision for the FMC without actually having spoken to her about it, not even once. Personally, if you are in love with someone to the extent that the MMC is for the FMC then you would feel comfortable bringing up this kink he has when it started. But instead he has been floating in his marriage for ten years while he watches other people behind his wife’s back. He’s been cheating from book six which was fifteen years before.
So far the FMC is stronger then book six’s FMC was but other than trying to move on this female has bbs too. Not a good start for me. We’ll see how this plays out.
25% UPDATE
This author writes such childish MMC’s. This MMC doesn’t even care for the safety of his children. What a disgusting excuse for a man. I will NEVER read this author’s products again!
40% UPDATE
The MMC finds out that the FMC, who btw he has been telling in every way possible that he doesn’t want her over his desire for his kink anymore, has cheated decides to lock her in his room at the club during a lockdown. While their daughter has been kidnapped AND keeps her other two children away from her, and when his ten year old son confronts him about all his f#€k ups, the MMC goes to slap him! Yeah.
Oh but wait, there’s more, when the MMC was feeling “betrayed” by the FMC’s cheating, he was also thinking that it was hot that she had slept with someone else and he thought maybe she was more open to his desires than he originally thought.
This guy is worse than the abusive junkie MMC of the book before this one. He behaves like a child lashing out and avoiding things that he doesn’t like. Honestly his pecker should be cut off as “punishment”, and then he can spend the rest of his life ONLY watching like the piece of sh!t that he is!
41% UPDATE
I WILL NEVER READ FROM THIS AUTHOR AGAIN! The author wrote the FMC wanting her kids AND her husband while she has been locked up for HOURS. The kids I expect her wanting but that piece of slugslime who locked her away from her other children during a crisis!! This author has ZERO emotional intelligence! Or respect for women! She writes pathetic, weak, desperate for d!€k, trash for women! This is NOT a proud mother. This is not a strong FMC. This is straight garbage!
You keep me from my kids in a crisis situation like this I don’t want you!! I would gut you like the sack of d!ckless sh!t that you are! The MMC is NO BETTER THAN THE KIDNAPPERS as far as I’m concerned!!
I am going try my damnest to get Amazon to refund my money!!
FINAL UPDATE
I was FINALLY able to force myself to finish this book and somewhere after the 50% the main couple start being a couple. There was some random events that forced the MMC to fully commit to the FMC but I honestly felt that if it wasn’t because the FMC cheated they would have ended up back where the book started for them. The MMC is extremely emotionally immature. He has no communication skills and I don’t think he has a helpful thought in his head. This book wasn’t worth my time or money. I didn’t like the main couple by the end AND I actually felt sorry for what happened to the OM. I felt that aside from him pursuing a married woman the main couple screwed him over because they have an unhealthy relationship. And I want to clarify that the OM tried to abduct the FMC and her daughter while having placed an explos!ve in the club house that the whole club was lockdown in. So yeah, I liked HIM more than the main characters.
Anyway, there is a bonus book at the end of this one that I can’t figure out if it was a short story or if it was a sneak peak. Still, I had ZERO desire to read about Riley as she got her sister and a friend kidnapped in this book all because she had feelings for an older man in the club. Riley also got her sister r@p€d and other than some nonexistent guilt didn’t seem to feel any responsibility for her actions! So basically another selfish childish character which this author doesn’t seem to write any other type. I did want to see more of Bailey and Rosalie because I want to see how they end up but I’m POSITIVE this author would ruin their characters if she does write more about them.
Good luck with this author and the narcissistic book characters she writes.
This is Ivy and Camos story in the MC series. I havent read the other books in the series. Camouflage neglects his wife and family by spending time in the club house watching others have sex with the club bunnies. His wife is his high school sweetheart. Shes a stay at home mom. She overheard him say something about how wives fet fat so she starts seeing a trainer and loses 20 pounds with a personal trainer. Plus sje does her hair more blonde. He's not cheating but he's distant and never home.
Does he notice? Not at first until she tries to go out by herself one evening.
Does the new recruit who is assigned to guard their house notice? Yes right away.
I thought this book was entertaining and well written. I liked how Cano doesxredeem himself to his wife.
This book was just what the title promises.. Rough and REAL. Hayley touches on a theme that many romance writers do not, emotions and events that happen after thirteen years of marriage. I found that of all the amazing heroines in this series, and there are so many, I identified with Ivy the most. I felt her frustration, her commitment to family, when she was torn, I was torn, when she was angry with West, I hated him right along with her. I was cheering her along the whole way to stay true to herself and to find herself a a woman and not only a mom and West’s old lady. West, let me tell you, he brought out some real emotions from me as well. Even when I hated him, and I really did there for a while, I felt his internal struggle. I wanted to grab him and yell at him to just tell Ivy, tell her how you feel and what you want. Hayley turned up the heat factor to scorching in Real.
I will admit, I felt a bit of trepidation going into this book, knowing it was an end to my favorite motorcycle club bad boys. In this final installment of the Notorious Devils series, Hayley wraps things up so perfectly. We see a new era of the club starting, one that leads us to know our favorite Devils are living lives that make them happy. I was afraid there would be more sadness at saying goodbye to this series, but Hayley left me with a huge smile on my face, rather than huge tears in my eyes. Plus the little extra surprise at the end was the ultimate! It made my heart happy!
Rough & Real by Hayley Faiman is the last installment of the Notorious Devils MC series and it just breaks my heart that I won't get to read more of this amazing series.
The title Rough and Real couldn't be anymore spot on. The story of West and Ivy is rough and definitely takes on the real issues a couple face when they fall into a rut. Life gets in the way of this couple. Kids, work, and personal wants combine to tear down the years West and Ivy have put into their marriage.
I was so furious with West while reading. He didn't trust Ivy to deal with his needs. He didn't communicate that something had changed and when he gets stupid talking to another member of the MC about life with Ivy, I truly knew the meaning of seeing red!
I loved the character growth that Ivy showed. She had her mess ups just like West but she felt she needed a change and went out to make herself happy. She found her back bone! It took a tragic event and forgiveness for this couple to find their way.
But no matter the drama, angst and stupidity of this couple the chemistry was hot when they got between the sheets or any surface they could find. I always say Hayley Faiman knows how to write a scorching hot sex scene.
The Notorious Devils have been a wild ride and I was so glad I was there from beginning to end!
Well, Hayley Faiman went out with her sexual guns a blazin' on the final book in the Notorious Devils Series! This last installment has more sex than all of the others combined it seemed and then some. Whew! Who knew Camo was such a hottie?!?
The title of this review pretty much is how I felt about Camo and Ivy's story. Not my cup of tea what so ever, but I did enjoy reading about them and thier marital struggles. Especially when Camo thinks he knows what he wants and Ivy steps up to the plate, instantly backing the big guy down. Probably my favorite part.
While this is Camo and Ivy's story, we get all other members of the club and wives involved, as well as the usual club threats to throw things off balance a little bit. In the last book it was obvious that Camo and Ivy were having problems in thier marriage. Years go by, things get stale and with the whores at the club house, Camo is tempted daily.
We go along with Camo and Ivy as they try and work things out, all the while the kids are moving to the forefront of the story. I was excited, even more so when I got to the end of the book and the kid's stories were expanded upon. Hayley Faiman definitely has a fan in me and if the kids get a series, I am all in.
The book is well written and sexual as all get out. Like I said, all past club members and Old Ladies are accounted for and we are caught up to speed on them. Questions get answered and more. The way I see it, there is new Notorious Devil stories to be told. I'll miss the OG's, but am ready for the young blood!
OMG yes! Ivy and Camo...she saved the best for last! I loved this final Devils book so much but man oh man did it ever make me cry. The first half was just way too close to home for me...and any woman who has had kids, let herself "go" and felt like she was losing her man will understand what I mean when you read it. This one had it all...romance, cheating, sexual exploration, family drama, kids on the edge of young adulthood, club fighting...just a whole bag of all the things that make up a good MC series. The bonus novella was perfect and just what I wanted to read because I was about to scream that I want to know what happens later with some of the other key players. My favorite book in the series.
***** 5 ***** "Ivy and Camo always keep it real" stars
This felt like a book on why not to stay in a relationship with someone addicted to voyeurism, porn or hotwifing. The pea brained Hero became a Zero in this book and the heroine would have been so much better off without him. Blech.
Talk about a roller coaster ride. I was going to take a day to decompress and gather my sanity but I though …. NAH! So this should be fun, I can break this down into 3 points. That’s all I got in my brain at the moment. First: Way to go HAYLEY! It’s safe to say I was impatiently waiting for this bad boy since the clip added at the end of Rough & Rich. The wait was so worth it! The way my emotions and sanity was so beautifully played with, was DA BOMB.(Do people still say da bomb? I’m not that old) Anywho, the writing was beautiful. I really could relate to what was happening. I was in the moment with Ivy & West, I was in the moment with their kids too. Second: Can we have a round of applause for Ivy Please?! I mean that woman *le sigh* complete girl crush. She never let the shambles of her marriage and life effect being a mother. She is relatable. I understood her actions and reactions. Talk about holding down the fort and throwing down what needed to be thrown down! Thank you Jesus! Third: West. Oh Lord West. I loved you, I hated you, I questioned your sanity and masculinity. Majority of the book I wasn’t sure if I could still be friends with you. I wasn’t 100% if you could come back from all your horse caca. Well way to nail it West. Thank you for redeeming yourself. I was concerned there for a moment. So over all, I pretty much loved it and totes recommend it. I mean I fan girled super hard over this one. I came out of my reviewing sabbatical and it was worth it!
Wow! This was freaking amazing. Brutally honest look at how two people married for over 15 years can almost lose it all. Betrayals, new desires, danger. This one had it all and I absolutely loved it.
Camo and Ivy have been together 15 years, married 8, with three kids. Camo has been increasingly assholey to his wife. Staying out later, not coming home on weekends, becoming short with her enough that she's started to suspect he's cheating.
She also overhears him talking to another MC member in which he says don't get married or make women your old lady because once they do they all get fat and dumpy like his wife who didn't lose the last 30 pounds from the last kid.
It cuts Ivy to the core. She's not 21 anymore and yes, she's had three kids. She wears comfortable clothes and is basically a single parent. She's also in her mind, 20 pounds over the weight she was when she was 21 not 30 pounds.
Uhhh I'm sorry, but NO ONE is usually the size they are at 21 then they are at 36, especially after 3 kids. Who cares if your wife gained 30 pounds? 75? Sure but 30?
This woman cooks, cleans, has dinner on the table, goes to ALL the kids sports/activities and still FUCKS HER HUSBAND EVERY NIGHT THAT HE ASKS FOR IT. SHE'S NEVER ONCE TURNED HIM DOWN.
In his internal monologue he appreciates that but sex has also gotten boring. He's bored.
Camo has over the years, dropped in on the club's playroom, basically where MC members fuck groupies or club sluts. It's a sex room. He likes watching and likes imagining having a threesome with his wife. But recently, it's become ALL the time. Instead of coming home to his wife or his children, he watches other people fuck for hours. I mean entire weekends. There's something wrong in this guys head.
Let me be clear, there's nothing wrong with fantasies, but he's cheating. Instead of being a husband and a father, he'd rather watch live porn multiple days a week, for hours on end.
Even his own MC members, his mother, his friends tell him to go home to his wife, put in some effort on growing together and he just brushes them off like whatever.
He's SO apathetic towards his wife too. Like I guess I love her. I don't hate or dislike her. The first half of the book is him thinking every day that this is the day he's going to leave her.
Ivy starts going to a gym and working out with a gay couple, one is her personal trainer. For months. She's finally lost the extra weight and is feeling good about herself.
Camo comes home one night and screams at her about the money she's spending at the gym, basically tells her he makes the money and she's a useless little house mouse than accuses her of having affairs. When she cries and tells him how she feels about him insulting her then not coming home, he fucks her then immediately climbs off her and tells her their marriage isn't working anymore. WOOOOOW.
He even admits he's been checked out of the marriage since their youngest was born almost nine fucking years ago . He goes home to tell her he's leaving her but sees her dressed up to go out for the first time in a long time and decides against it so he can fuck her again later. He then accuses her, again, of getting skinny, in preparation to leave him.
To reiterate, he hasn't bothered to notice his wife's body in three months of her working out or eating clean but when he does notice, on the same night he was planning to leave her, he accuses her of trying to leave him and except for the time above he hasn't been having sex with her.
The next time they have sex, he internalizes that he's lying to his wife by saying he loves her and has to picture something else when they have sex. (The free for all room).
Ivy gets a job. She goes to tell Camo and can't find him. She leaves but gets threatened by a younger man. She goes to find Camo again and of course all his MC members try to distract her.
Instead she walks into the free for all room where a full out orgy is happening. Camo doesn't even notice her, he's too busy watching the club whores get banged. It all clicks for Ivy when another MC member looks at her with pity. She realizes Camo's been doing this a lot. She also assumes he's been cheating by his behavior. She leaves.
When the "show" is over, Camo goes to refresh his beer and hopes that his kids have nothing going on because he's not interested in going home. Only back to the free for all room.
I maintain this behavior is more along the lines of a sex addict than a fantasy. Watching live porn then going to jerk off is one thing, but watching for hours upon hours? When the MC member tells him his wife caught him and he should go home, he literally shrugs it off thinking it's for the best anyway and goes right back to the sex room. That's no longer a fantasy. It's an addiction.
When the club tells all the men that there's been a weird guy hanging around threatening the women, Camo doesn't even go home. He could care less. He sends a prospect over instead and doesn't come home. He cares so little for his family being in danger he sends a prospect to watch them instead
Camo/Ivy have another fight the next day and he throws a glass bottle at her head and misses her by inches. Then he backs her up against the wall until she steps on broken glass. When she cries and tells him she wants her kids father back and her husband back, he says he'll work on his relationship with the kids but he isn't coming home at night anymore.
This motherfluffer right here needs a good junk punch.
So yay! He's abusive too! Even his eldest, their daughter, tells him he's being a shit husband and father and he just dismisses her like she's not even relevant.
Ivy isn't necessarily a doormat but she's close. She's trying to feel happy about herself, she's making new friends, she got a job so she can pay for her own gym membership, she's changed her style and her hair but at the end of the day, no matter how badly Camo treats her she can't help but love him and want him.
She also fucks him the entire book, even after he's essentially cheating on her. Major BBS in this book. Like he puts her down, they have sex. They argue and he tells her she's not enough for him, they have sex. He yells at her and doesn't come home at night? They have sex.
Another time Ivy comes home from work (She's getting majorly "close" to the prospect Derek who treats her like a queen) and Camo is making dinner for the kids. He kisses the kids and ignores Ivy. Just walks right by her. She chases him and asks him why he's being cruel. She then begs him to stop doing this to her. She tells him she'll do anything he wants, even sexually. She'll let another guy fuck her in front of him as long as he doesn't leave her. He just scoffs and brushes her off and walks away. This goes on for MONTHS.
Ivy cheats. Yay! Super unusual to have the woman cheat. She fucks the prospect Derek whose been the one protecting her family for weeks. She feels immediate guilt and shame. Calls herself a whore all night. (Thanks author for setting women back!)
Ivy and Camo's daughter goes missing. Camo realizes Ivy fucked Derek and locks her in his room. When his middle son protests this and wants his mom, he goes to hit him! Ivy is locked up for 24 hours. Rosalie is rescued but her friend was raped. (She's only 14 so major trigger warning!)
All of a sudden, Camo doesn't care Ivy cheated. In fact, he's turned on by it. Maybe he CAN have his wife and his fantasies! Rolling my eyes for the dumbest man of the year.
Skimmed the rest of the book because honestly I didn't care about the characters anymore. Camo brings Ivy to the free for all room. They watch other people fuck. Then Camo fingers her while Derek eats her out. Camo has her get naked and they both tease her until Derek wants to fuck Ivy. Then Camo freaks out and gets jealous and takes her to their room so they can fuck privately.
After, Camo beats Derek bloody for fucking his wife without permission. Derek loses an eye. Not for the group scene but for the cheating night.
Every other weekend, Ivy and Camo fuck or "play" in the free for all room. Only rule is no one is allowed to fuck Ivy's pussy, that's ONLY Camo's pussy.
Everything else in front of everyone else is a free for all. Camo even makes out with Ivy after she gives another man a blow job. That same time, the other man announces he wants her ass and even though she's never done anal before some how she's screaming for it. Rolling my eyes again.
I'm sorry but it's nasty. Not judging anyone for their kinks. I'm judging these fictional characters.
But I hate that IVY had to be something in order for Camo to love her and not leave her. There's a difference between wanting threesomes and having hard core exhibitionist sex with everyone in the club watching you treat your wife like a cum dumpster after FIFTEEN years of being together. It felt disingenuous.
If Ivy wouldn't have been into it or didn't like it after the first attempt, Camo would have 100% left her.
And only AFTER he gets what he wants is he suddenly a good husband and wife again. Fucking puhleeeze.
There's more club drama that happens but blah blah blah.
Epilogue is them five years later still married and happily "playing" twice a month.
I didn't even read the novella at the back because again, it just didn't hold my interest.

While Not my favorite of the series so far, Rough and Real with Camo and Ivy's story opened up some very REAL emotions for me. It shows the dynamic way that lives wants and needs can change and grow in a relationship-- both pushing you apart and in other ways pulling you closer together. I love the angst, and twists and turns and while I found myself having a hard time with some of the misunderstandings that go on, one thing holds true through it all..... Ms Faiman's work is artistry in its finest. With writing that will pull you in and completely make you fall in love and truly feel as if you are a part of the story, seeing it through her character's eyes as if they were your own. The reliability is not only intense but the main reason that I keep coming back to ms Faiman's work and very specifically this series. I have been left breathless and in tears and I cannot wait to see what more is instore.
Gross MMC and the FMC thinks he's cheating, which he is mentally but not physically, and yet she lets him f**k her without a condom? oh hell no. she also keeps caving to him over and over no matter how big an ahole he is. I wanted to see her become a strong woman without his lying a**.
I also hated how the FMC tried to say that him in the kink room was not cheating. yes it was girl. get a clue. it is not the same as watching a stripper which she tried to compare it to
And what the hell with the FMC letting her husband get away with saying stuff like she hasn't earned a dime so he has every right to get mad that she's spending HIS money. She even she gets a job to pay for her gym membership so she doesn't spend HIS money. Look, I'm not a wife or a mom but I know that raising a family as a stay at home mom is hard work and doesn't deserve to get looked down upon by anyone let alone her husband.
This is the seventh book in this phenomenal series, and what an emotional and heartbreaking rollercoaster journey it is. Ivy and Camo has been married for years, and something is lacking from their marriage. They have both made wrong choices along the way, but sometimes love is just not enough to save a marriage. I was not to keen on Camo to start with, especially what was going through his head, but my mind changed along the way. I loved how all of the brothers could see what was going on, and did not hesitate to interfere and offer advice. This author has written an amazing story, and I was hooked and captivated throughout. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all lovers of MC’s, and I cannot wait to read more of her work. Amazing Hayley!!
