Dr. Atherton Nathan, Terry, never imagined that the pact he made four decades ago would cost him what he treasured most – his family. Though he survived the slow disintegration of his marriage, he held fast to the hope that he could win back the only woman he ever loved.
His youngest daughter now has a life and love he has always wanted for her and their relationship has healed enough for her to allow him to give her away during her wedding. He hopes the weeks he will spend in Chandler County to ensure her transition from her life and career in Chicago to Chandlerville before the nuptials will be enough to convince his wife…ex-wife of his love for her and hers for him.
Reina Fellows Nathan can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Her youngest daughter’s life is out of danger and Shauna is carving out her own path towards happiness. All Reina has to do is get through the weeks it will take to help her daughter plan her wedding and avoid her ex-husband. He nearly destroyed her once and despite some of the changes he’s recently made she dare not trust her heart to him.
Each day brings new challenges that work against her resolve to remain unaffected by her ex- husband’s attempts to court her again, but secrets, lies and a long-held pact that comes to light may make it impossible for a true reconciliation.

Traci Wooden-Carlisle began writing poetry and short stories as soon as she was able to form words on paper. She used that as a way of creating worlds, as well as, to communicate with God. A native of Los Angeles, California, she grew up attending United Methodist Church under the leadership of a pastor whose heart was for youth. Once she finished college she found herself at a loss. She felt caught in the transition between childhood and adulthood. She surrounded herself with saints and volunteered her services as a graphic artist. Through the early-morning prayer, all night Friday prayer and 3-day shut-ins she started on her journey toward her most desired gift, an intimate relationship with God.
Today, Mrs. Wooden-Carlisle lives in San Diego with her husband, Mr. Carlisle. She teaches fitness classes, runs a jewelry and craft business, and is currently writing the next installment in her Christian-fiction series.

This is an enjoyable, fast paced story, I couldn’t put it down. There is plenty of drama, and suspense that had me wanting to know what going to happen next. I suggest reading Missing Destiny (book one) prior to reading this book. There are events occurring in this book that also take place in book one. It would give more depth and understanding to the story by reading the series in order. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Missing Us can be read as a standalone. However, I would recommend reading Missing Destiny first to get the full story and take on the parents from Shauna's eyes.

This is Dr. Atherton Nathan and Reina's book.

I was a bit annoyed in how this one went down. Terry was able to give a bit of background information without revealing too much to the step-dad, so why couldn't he do the same with his wife twelve years prior when she was leaving him for cheating?
I guess I just don't like the fact that the separation could've been avoided. This illustrious "Organization" that is to blame for a lot of their problems was so easily accepting of his resignation that I'm not sure why he didn't try this before when his marriage was ending.

They say still waters run deep, well I found out that deception, love and forgiveness go even deeper. This is book 2 in the Chandler County series. You really must read the first book to understand where this book picks up.

Terry and Reina had a deep love, and a strong family life. But, Terry came into the marriage with secrets that caused the marriage to end. It's been years since the divorce, but he wants and needs to reunite with Reina. Secrets still exist which have to be overcome before trust and forgiveness can begin.
Intrigue and drama abound in this second book in the series. Though the secrets may be hard to believe, they are possible. (This is fiction.) The characters are strong yet vulnerable. Story is a standalone but is more complete when read together. Loved the continuation of Zach and Shauna's lives.
Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.

Emotional story filled with drama and suspense that keeps you guessing what will happen next. Terry has secrets that he brought into his new marriage which torn it apart. Now he wants a second chance but what is done is done and can’t be undone or can it? Trust is needed before they can rebuild their relationship but with secrets still in the way forgiveness maybe but I don’t see how that is possible.

I did think he could have given her a bone without giving the whole thing away. I understand why he needed to keep quite but I just think this relationship could have been saved before it fell apart. It was a good read with suspense. It held my attention and I truly enjoyed it.

Like the people fine, but the mystery has just gone on too long. How is it that she is married to this man for 25 years and don’t know his true work. Other things made the plot not as plausible. The story doesn’t have enough believability-or the author needs to go ahead and reveal some things. Got to read Book 2, to get the conclusion of the matter.

His tangled web and a decision made because he didn't expect to find love cost this man more than the ever bargained for. Can he redeem anything from the ashes? I did find a few errors, but I can always over look those if I like the plot. I liked it.
