The Labyrinthine Journey The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

With the first of three pieces required to save the Olympian Gods retrieved, Luciana Cavallaro's The Labyrinthine Journey (Mythos Publications 2017) takes readers on a second wild treck around ancient Greece and the surroundings with the continued goal of saving the Olympian Gods from destruction at the hand of the one God of Christianity. With the help of a thankful king who was assisted by the High Priestess (a member of t

The Labyrinthine Journey is the second book in Author Luciana Cavallaro’s Servant of the Gods series which first introduced twenty-first century architect Evan Chronis who stumbled upon time’s doorway and found himself transported back to mythical times. As in book 1, book 2 does not disappoint. This is historical fiction at its best as Ms. Cavallaro provides historical accuracy combined with an enthralling storyline.

Dangerously weakened by humanity's lack of devotion, the gods are losing contro

This is the second book in an epic series which continues Evan’s quest to find the sacred object. The novel is a fascinating fusion of ancient history, mythology and fantasy. The author has combined the mundane details of everyday life in the ancient world with well-remembered references to ancient myths and vivid imaginings from the realms of fantasy. The whole is an unusual and highly readable novel which develops some of the characters from Book 1 and introduces new personalities too. Evan de ...more

[Full disclosure: I received a free ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review.]

After the cliffhanger of the first book, I was very excited to get an email from Luciana asking if I’d like to read and review the second book. Although I was worried that since two years had passed it would be hard to get into the second book without reading the first one again.

However, I didn’t need to worry at all. There’s a nice amount of exposition in the first few chapters that catches the reader up

xcellent continuation from book 1. Easy transition too. Evan continues his search for the artifacts to save the gods, meeting each challenge as it comes. He still does not believe he came from the time he is in. Well written, great plot and characters. Can't wait for book 3!
I received a complimentary copy of this book and freely provide my review.

"The time to restore the true path has come, and my bloodline will become king of the human race."

It is prophesied that the Gods of Olympus will be eclipsed by a man whom the people will call the Messiah. That cannot be allowed to happen.

Evan has been summoned by his father, Zeus, the King of the Gods, to partake in a very time sensitive quest. If he fails, then nothing will ever be the same again. Evan, along with some new friends from Atlanta set out on an epic journey to find the ancient reli

The Labyrinthine Journey is the second book in the Servant of the Gods series by Luciana Cavallaro. It is an epic fantasy filled with adventure, ancient history, mythology, gods, drama, danger, prophecy, ancient relics, and more. Even though this is the second book in the series and continues Evan’s adventure, Ms. Cavallaro does a great job of ‘catching us up’ on the events in book one- so this can be read as a standalone if that’s what you wanted, without feeling lost in the story.

Having read the first book in the Servant of the Gods series, The Golden Serpent, I couldn’t wait to continue following Evan’s story and grabbed book two as soon as it came out. I knew that I was in for a treat when I opened the first page but The Labyrinthine Journey even exceeded my expectations. Not only the concept of an architect from the twenty-first century suddenly being transported to the ancient times is very original and highly riveting, but the set of characters, the descriptions of ...more

In sixth century BCE, the modern day hero and time traveler, Evan, continues his quest to recover three relics of the Mother Goddess, so that the new Christian religion does not obliterate the worship of the Olympian gods. The Labyrinthine Journey, the 2nd book in the Servant of the Gods series by Luciana Cavallaro, has an epic mythological quality similar to Ulysses in Homer's Odyssey.

Evan, also referred as Evandros, embodies Joseph Campbell's archetypal hero found in world mythologies. In Book

This book continues the journey of Evan/Evandros Chronis and his fellow travellers. While Evan still dreams of returning to the 21st century, their search for the relics is disrupted by a certain someone who has different plans for the future.

With The Labyrinthine Journey, Luciana Cavallaro has created another well-crafted historical suspense that continues a modern architect's journey into the past and/or mythology - against his will. It is a very compelling read that draws you close to Evan an

The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2)
By Luciana Cavallaro
5 out of 5 stars

The book The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) by Luciana Cavallaro is an exciting and entertaining read. It is a story that pulled me in from the beginning and didn’t let me go until the final page. It is a book that has action, danger, and Greek gods. I loved reading about the character of Evan. “The Labyrinthine Journey” was an interesting read. The most notable feature of this book, to me, is that it is an intense, high-action book. It is often hard to find a “good stopping point” for the night, due to the constant action (which let’s face it… no one is complaining about that). In the beginning, I was little lost since I did not read the first book in this series prior to this one. However, I will say the author did a good job “filling-in the blanks” as the story progressed. Given thi ...more

This was certainly a great book. I loved the mythology, I loved the history, I loved the idea of someone stuck outside his timeline. In The Labyrinthine Journey (Servant of the Gods Book 2) by Luciana Cavallaro, we follow Evan on a journey that to him seems unreal. All your favorite mythical creatures are here and maybe even some you’ve never heard of, with a lot of the back story on these characters. Gods and historical people alike. I am a huge history fan with a soft spot for mythology. And when this book fell into my hands I couldn’t believe my luck. I jumped into the series with this book (and now will be running to pick up book one) and was immediately transported to ancient mythology. I was fascinated by Evan and his struggle (and what an understandable struggle it is). The quest was epic, which when involving mythology it always should be. I was riveted and very much pulled into this epic adventure. Again I can’t wait ...more

My heart is still racing from the adrenal rush from this story. One of my favorite topics is Mythology. I love the gods, demi-gods, and the history around them. Luciana Cavallaro is a mastermind. The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavallaro is jam packed with so many of my favorite things that I don’t know where to start. The Labyrinthine Journey by Luciana Cavollaro is the second book in the Servants of the gods series. The characters, storyline, and world building were fantastic. This is a very well written book. This take you into ancient Greece and the mythology around it takes you in a journey of stopping destruction. This is Evans second quest and is portayed as a very strong character. You won't want to put this book down once you start reading it. Ripped out of his 21st century life to go on a quest how to get back to his own time will he succeed.
