I'm usually brutally honest. I don't like to sugar coat shit or beat around the bush. But this time, I couldn't want to run further from my own destructive truth. I'd been sold. Sold. Like some kind of dog to a man born of cruelty and carnage. A man who rules a criminal organization on a global scale, and now... rules my body but, most importantly... my freedom. I drea

4 It Can Always Be Worse Stars

Dark and disturbing subject matter! Not a romance!

This book starts up right where book 1 ended. Spoilers below if you haven't read book 1.

25 year old Jaden Wilder has been sold to 'The Owner' (view spoiler), and things don't get much better for her once she arrives at his home. Jaden is still fighting so much, but I think I accepted it more in this book because her strength was something else!

I HATE HIM. What a total coldhearted evil muthafucka he is!
But this book left me on the edge of my seat. I couldn't put it down.
I am hoping J. Marie will somehow pull off a miracle and redeem him some how, some way.
Looking forward to book #3.

Read book one Stolen before you read this book as it’s a continuation of the story. As soon as I finished Stolen I had to jump into this read. That ending... crikey.

I was delighted to find out the owners name. I know I’m easily pleased lol
Jaden is a fantastic character. She’s so strong and feisty. She reminded me of that song Tubthumping (I get knocked down) No matter how much he knocked her down she always came up fighting.

Although I thought this started out a tad slow the pace certainly spe

Literally up all night reading this book....the "part 2" of this amazing Stronger Series!!! I hated Darrin and I loved him....hated him....then wanted him.....sick, I know.....but wow....the situation seems absolutely impossible and totally believable. This book had you just about everywhere on the Richter Scale. I hope the next book comes out soon....I just don't know how much more I can take! 10 STARS.

Survival picks up where Stolen left off with Jaden realizing that she was purchased by the Owner (Darren) at the slave auction. She's terrified knowing he's the one she'll have to try and escape from, but she vows never to give up and lose faith.

Darren is determined to make Jaden submit completely and plans on keeping her with him forever. The more she fights, the more he wants her and the more he enjoys the challenge. He can tell Jaden is horrified by the fact that her body responds to his tou

Look out Wonder Woman! Look out Black Widow! There's a new Sheriff in town and her name is Jaden! Listen to her ROAAAARRRRRRRR!!!!

Hopefully by now you have read the first book (Stolen) in this incredible series! If you haven't, STOP NOW! DO NOT PASS GO OR COLLECT $200!

Super J has proven countless times she is no ordinary acquisition. Hence D's obsession with her. In this installment, things escalate to anxiety levels! Who will win in this game of wills? Initially, I was a bit concerned about Sup

Jayden and's a fighter and one's a breaker.. Man this is a different type of kidnapping, there is no love story here, Jayden does not fall in love with him and I don't think Darren is really in love with her, he's obsessed with her strength and how she can hold her own when he's fighting her, there were times I was telling Jayden..please shut-up, just keep your mouth shut, but she never listened...I would see Darren's soft side, picnic's at the beach, bathing her, holding her when sh ...more

J Marie's Survival is the second book in a series that is dark, really dark. Jaden is bought by the owner of a trafficking ring, the ruthless Darren. She's small, but strong, only he's much stronger and he'll never let her go. Not one to give up,Jaden fights for her freedom and the lives of the ones she loves. This battle between them....damn,it had my heart rate through the roof! It will be so hard to survive until Sparks, the next installment,arrives.....For readers of dark erotica,i ...more

Another great edition to this dark, violent, and oh so amazing and at times funny series which continues Jaden's path with human trafficking. We finally learn the owner's name, Darren and I like him even though he's an evil sexy bastard who is obsessed with our feisty Jaden . Once more Jaden isn't afraid to challenge Darren at every turn and I love it. I can't wait for the next book to see what happens with Jaden and Darren.

Book #2 in the STOLEN series was just as dark as it's predecessor. However, it was a lot slower. In between the exciting depravity, there was an excessive amount of non-relevant, monotonous filler. There was so much of this that I often skimmed through or even skipped several sentences in a given paragraph. To make matters worse, this book ended with a cliffhanger! GRRRRR! Had this been my first book by Ms. Marie, I may not have considered reading any others.
3.5 stars. Wow this series has me gripped. I want to give it more stars because it is good. But some of the contents hit really strongly with my triggers. I'm still rooting for a hea though! Not sure how it's ever going to happen but still hoping! Love how strong the heroine is! And how bad ass Darren is. Maybe a bit to bad in some aspects but I can't help rooting for him anyway!

Wow I’m speechless!!!!
This book was hard to read for the amount of violence that Jaden has to endure.

But the book is addictive, you just want to know more and all the time you are really cheering and expecting for something to go on Jaden’s way and is so hard how always Darren snuff her.

I love how she can keep her spirit in the middle of the situation she is in. I would have crumbled or worse.

I really hate Darren. I know he is the “hero o protagonist” in this serie. But I really don’t know how h
Wow. Just when you thought Jaden would at least gain some freedom, Darren manages to take it all away and then some. I have a very small soft spot for Darren, even though he is very deranged. I am moving onto book 3.

This is the type of book that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The series is so addictive that I put off sleeping just to finish this book because it grips your soul. It seeps into your mind and into your heart, lingering long after you put it down. Be prepared because it is a dark read but for those who love dark, it's worth every second.

It's almost hard to formulate this review into words. Every time Jaden fights back, I wanted to applaud but then I wanted to cringe wondering if it is truly

In the second installment we have Jaden now living with the owner and all the horrors that can come with that. I really can't decide if the first book is better then the second or not. Jaden is still trying to kick as and Darren is still horrible, BUT I can now see some more honest qualities about Darren that I didn't before. NO don't get me wrong, he is still evil incarnate. But I see something there maybe softening. I could be wrong. Can't wait for the next.

Horrifying and disturbing, but good

Disclaimer: I do not consider this a romance, not even a dark romance, so if that is what you are looking for you might want to skip this one. (EDIT: the author describes this series as a "dark erotic thriller," and is very clear that it is not a dark romance.)
That said, I have to say this book is really good. And by "really good" I mean the story moves right along without lulls, the dialogue is good, I don't recall any grammatical errors, and the author does a

This is going to be a bit difficult to review without giving away any clues and as I still have book 3 to go yet, I would rather wait and reflect on the whole series before putting up a decent review in the mean time
The book's title says it all, Jaden has been sold but what a surprise that her owner is ??? Jaden has to draw on her deepest strength to get through each day. We find out early on that the Owner's name is Darren Davis so the author attempts to humanize him (in my eyes, at least), rat

Holy wow! I didn't think Jay Marie's writing could pull me in anymore but oh man did it!! This book is addicting and soooo dark.

Survival picks up just where Stronger left off. Jaden comes to the harsh realization that she was just purchased by the sick, twisted, completely demented and sadistic "Owner."

She soon learns just how much worse things could get when Darren (The Owner) shows his true colors and really releases the monster within himself. She is still the feisty, head strong bad*ss who

This picks up right where we left off in book one and as I finished the final scene - which ends with a bit of a cliffhanger -
I can't help but fear how this will end - Jaden is still in there - just barely hanging on - but I fear the damage may already be done
Darren's skewed sense of reality, lack of empathy and fundamental beliefs make him extremely dangerous- though I do question if his psychopathic tendencies are a result of nature or nurture?
The psychological twists are quite engaging as w

This book and these characters are extremely intense and the adrenaline rush you get is beyond impressive. It is raw and emotional and so many truths there are parts that you even have to question as to why this happens because every page sends a blow of pain. It's almost like watching a disaster but unable to look away. I am sure there all kind of psychological definitions for Jaden's emotional and physical responses to Darren. I get it I really do. Anyone can be tortured enough to crave any hint of safety and security even from a monster like Darren. Jaden has an indomitable spirit which I hope can keep her from accepting this alternate reality Darren is planning on forcing her to live in forever. I for one envision an ending to this series where Da ...more

I am 100% totally addicted to this series. This is a deep, down totally and completely dark series. In fact, so dark that I can't believe how much I like it. Some scenes really make you cringe, yet I continue to be impressed with Jayden and her courage. She literally gets beat down and yet she gets up again and again. What happened to her at the end of the book was horrific, yet when we left her she was still silently plotting and scheming against miniscule odds for success. I almost hate to adm ...more

Survival picks up right where Stolen leaves off. I have to say that I saw that development coming all through the first book but it didn't make reading it any less awesome. Jay Marie delivers again with this second installment of the Stronger series. I was a bit concerned about the transition from the warehouse to Darren's house but I needn't have worried. Jaden is still kicking butt and Darren is, well, Darren. I think it's important to mention here that, according to Jay Marie, this is not a d ...more

Hold the front door!

What in the unholy, sexy, crazy sadistic hell did I just read!? From the first book Stolen to this book you will not put it down. Jaden is every woman's heroine, who every woman would want to be. You'll root for her the ENTIRE time, and other times you will pay that she would just stop before it got worse...but it's just not her nature. And Darren is beyond words the most over the top alpha male of all alpha males that I have ever read! You'll love him, you'll like him, you'l

Jaden is relentless. She refuses to break and her strength and tenacity is inspirational. Darren’s cruelty never waivers. He does soften and rewards her with good behaviour but his brutality is ever present.

Jaden’s resolve to destroy him and escape is always on the forefront. She plays the game and bides her time but sometimes her quick temper gets her into trouble and she pays for her defiance. No matter the torture Darren inflicts, Jaden is resilient. She bounces back even stronger and with a

This book is something else! Here I thought the first book was hard to digest, the second one definitely beats it. Darren is just such a tool ...... what a piece of shit he is...... there is Obsession and then there is OBSESSION!!!! The whirlpool of abuse both mental and physical is disturbing but at the same time the book sucks you in so much you cannot put it down and you truly do begin feeling everything that Jaden feels and dream her dreams.

“Still keeping a tight grip on my neck, Darren dragged me back into the woods, and I knew instantly he was taking me past the perimeter. I fought and kicked against him, but I had already tired myself out from the chase. Once I felt the sharp tick at the back of my head, I could tell Darren had felt it, too, and then he threw me as hard as he could into the woods, and I stumbled and rolled on the ground. I knew I only had about five seconds, and Darren wasn’t going to let me back into the safe zone. I stayed low on the ground, knowing once the volts hit me I was going to crash. Better to already be low than to fall from standing up. And then I felt it. The sharp current cut through my veins like shards of glass, and I screamed in total agony as it felt like my body was being ripped apart. I writhed in pain, thinking that my head was going to split open as my muscles and limbs convulsed under the current. It was, without a doubt, the most painful thing I had ever experienced, and my body quickly shut down, needing only a few seconds to welcome the numb blackness that claimed me.” 2 likes
