The Shaman Charms The Shifter

Rate this book
Leopard shifter Sasha Weisberg arrives in Nocturne Falls hoping someone in the town of supernaturals might be able to undo the spell an angry ex-friend put on her. Otherwise, she’s doomed to live most of every day as a bird, with only three precious hours each day to enjoy her human form and her snow leopard not at all.

An archangel friend convinces Kianso Kane to travel to Nocturne Falls for a weekend of rest and relaxation. From the onset of the trip, his shaman calling challenged him to return to his Hawaiian roots and acknowledged his shaman birthright. His instincts led him right to Sasha and he knew straightaway she was his true love. But she was caught in a maelstrom of a witches curse. And until she was free, she couldn’t be completely his.

They have one chance on Samhain to undo the curse, or else her next chance won’t be for nineteen years. Can she trust Kianso and his visions?

Adorable! I probably should go back and ready the stories that started it all, but this audio book was on sale when i bought it and i was looking for a quirky romance when i listened to it. Of course, i have many questions, so there better be a sequal, lol. Like does Kianso ever go back to Hawai'i? does he embrace his heritage now that he has a soulmate to heal his heart? And Sasha, i really need t know what her leopard form is like and Kianso's reaction. And does the witch who did the cursing ever learn to controll her anger? Fun and quirky, yes, needs like 50,00 more words, also yes, lol. But i am now a fan of Nocturn Falls and of Larissa Emerald, so i guess this little gem has done it's job.

After getting struck by a witches spell Sasha is now destined to live her life not as the shifter she should be but rather as a parrot with the ability to turn human for only three hours of each day. Kianso is a shaman who has left his heritage behind after an accident takes his family. Drawn to each other and not understanding why Sasha is on a race to revert the spell that holds her ca[tive.

I really enjoyed this story, overall it was well written and a different content to anything we have seen in Nocturne Falls with the inclusion of the Shamanic influence. I will admit at times I was a little confused with some aspects of the story but it ended up tying in nicely.

Wow! I just loved this book. Kianso is now one of my favorite characters. We didn't see much of the archangel Seth but I sure would like another book with him. Poor Sasha is stuck in bird form due to a curse a witch spelled onto her. She can only change into human form like three hours a day with no control in the matter. Kianso is a shaman warrior who has given up that side of him but it hasn't given up on him. He can speak to spirit forms and animals and knows Sasha is his true mate. But can they find a cure to break the spell?

2023 bk 272. Probably my favorite of Emeralds' novellas. There were a few weak spots amid shaman traditions, but the unique problem and resolution were interesting enough to hold my attention.

Lovely book

Witches and shifter what could go wrong? Sasha gets cursed and needs help undoing it. Kianso is a shaman who stopped practicing but in order to help Sasha he must resume. This is a cute paranormal romance and is worth the read.

The Shaman Charms the Shifter by Larissa Emerald

From the kindle world of Nocturne Falls created by Kristen Painter.
Second novella by this author in this Halloween town of paranormals.

The heroine is stuck as a bird for all but 3 hours a day from a vengeful spell. The hero falls in love immediately. A timely romantic Halloween spell may help them solve the problem.
It was sad he walked away from his Shaman life. Perhaps Nocturne Falls will help heal him.

Excerpt:
“One thing he did know without question was that this woman was meant for him. It was more than love at first sight. It was two souls being connected. He understood how it was possible. At least from a shamanic point of view.”

This is a great book; this books was written by Sela Carsen. This book is also part of the Nocturne Falls Kindle World which is written by Kristen Painter. I was so happy that these new books by new authors were asked to write a story in the town. Nocturne Falls is a town that celebrates Halloween every day of the year and also a place that paranormal’s can live and not have to hide what they really are. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader’s copy of this book. The free book held no determination on my personal review.

This is the author's second book in Nocturne Falls Universe, following The Vampire Bounty Hunter's Unexpected Catch. I quite liked her first book, and I had high hopes for this one. The book was pretty good, however it was missing the action featured in the previous book.
The story revolves around leopard shifter Sasha, who is suffering from a curse, and Kianso, a shaman who renounced his gift after a family tragedy. Two of them accidentally meet in Nocturne Falls and are instantly drawn to each other. I wish there was more of a buildup instead, however, the story is warm proper romance which relies on love conquers all. There are no proper villains in this story, but many obstacles.
The author made a great use of the Nocturne Falls world and characters, as well as one of her own characters, Seth, the angel from her Divine Tree Guardians series. The witches from the Nocturne Falls are prominently featured and there are series of interactions between them and the two main characters.
Nocturne Falls universe contains 25 books at the moment. Original Nocturne Falls series contains eight books and four short stories, as well as four books of the Jayne Frost spin off series. All of the series are great entertaining light read and I highly recommend them.

Sasha has a big problem. She was cursed by her former BFF to live as bird 21 hours a day. She has come to Nocturne Falls hoping to find someone who can help her with her problem. Kiansu is visiting Nocturne Falls with a friend. When he sees Sasha, he knows they are meant to be together. I liked both of these characters. Sasha made the best of a bad situation and did not turn bitter (too much). Kiansu is a swoon worthy hero. He plans to stay with Sasha even if the curse is never broken. The ending is almost too easy but that is okay with me. I figured it would be a big melodramatic scene. Kudos to the author for not going that route. There are no sex scenes in the book. The couple does have sex but it is behind closed doors. My only real complaint is I would have loved an epilogue to see how Sasha and Kiansu were doing as a couple and to see if Kiansu embraced his shamanic heritage in the future. I recommend this to anyone who like low heat paranormal romance.

love story was not convincing at all. The solving of her curse was way to easy and quick.
This could have been a good story if it would have made more effort about them falling in love and a more convincing solution to her curse. Plus, if it is forbitten to curse someone in anger, they let that woman get away with it? So she was sorry and that was that? That makes it ok that she cursed her in the first place? Nope that was a no go too.
What really makes me mad is if Authors steal other Authors works. In this story there is an " Archangel" with the name Seth. There is a addition in this book , about Seth The Immortal Guardians. Well guess what? Dianne Duvall has a Series Immortal Guardians and guess who the leader is ? Seth.
This ruined the book for me right from the start. It was irritating. When I reached the end and seen the pages explaining about books with Seth and Immortal Guardians.. yea that was it.
Emerald should have picked a different name. I have 0 tolerance for this. I also do not want to support Authors that use other peoples stuff instead of making up their own.

ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Kianso doesn't know what to expect when he arrives in Nocturne Falls.
Sasha hopes that the witches of Nocturne Falls can reverse her curse.
It doesn't hurt that she gets to meet the hottie Kianso.
Now they have work to do.
I love the storytelling.

This story remind me of that movie "LadyHawke" with Matthew Broderick, Rutger Hauer + Michelle Pfeiffer.
During the day, she was a falcon + during the night, he was a wolf.
Lovers cursed never to be together.
There is only one moment, when the night is turning into the day that they might get a glimpse of each other.
I loved that movie. ( Don't worry! There is a happy ending )

I was a bit skeptical coming into this book as I was not a fan of Larissa's last foray into Nocturne Falls. I was pleasantly surprised when this story took a complete 180 from the last story. The Shaman charms the Shifter was a perfect fit into the Nocturne Falls Universe and had me wanting to read more of the books written by the author. The characters from Kristen's books were perfectly in sync with how Kristen wrote them, and nothing felt forced or out of place. I am so pleased that Larissa wrote another story for Nocturne Falls. I highly recommend this book, and look forward to reading more from this author.

Oh, well, the way the story told was great, and the story itself was solid. No holes in plot, and rightly fit to the Nocturne Falls universe. I actually enjoyed reading it and had a good time while at it. However, there’s something about the book that made me felt not really connected to it. I mean, it was a good book, but not something I will remember in a long term. Probably the whole “I know she’s mine from the first sight” kind of thing that extremely often used in supernatural stories. It got old for me.

I was provided a complementary copy by the author / publisher, but this in no way influenced my thoughts or opinions.

The Nocturne Falls Universe stories are a fun way to take up time while we all wait impatiently for the next Nocturne Falls book to be released. Even though I am not a big shifter fan, as followers of my reviews would know, I really enjoyed this one. It was a little bit difference with the curse element changing the way the shifter has to be. It reminded me a lot of a Charmed episode that I recently re-watched and that definitely made me smile. I think fans of shifter stories will love this little romance and it comes highly recommended from me.

I enjoyed this story about Sasha and Kianso. Sasha is a leopard shifter that had a curse put on her in anger that causes her to be a bird for 21 hours a day. Kianso is a shaman who has turned his back on the shaman way after a terrible accident took his family. I wish there was more background on how he lost his family since it had such a major impact on the main character. I found the story interesting and look forward to more books set in Nocturne Falls.

I love every story from this universe and this one doesn’t disappoint. Sasha has had an unfortunate curse put on her by someone she thought was a friend. Sasha has come to Nocturn Falls to hopefully find someone to help her break the spell. What she finds is a reluctant shaman. Kianso has put aside his shaman training after losing his family. He may have to dust off his abilities to save the love of his life. Great read.

Very fast read, but it was cute and kept me interested the entire time.
As far as NF universe goes, this is the best I've read so far. There were cameos of OG characters and even though the relationship felt rushed (which I knew it would be because the book isn't super long) it was still a solid standalone.

Would definitely re-read if I'm looking for something cute and quick to get me out of a slump.

◇Shaman x Shifter
◇She's under a spell
◇Takes place in NF
◇Pandora and family cameos

Unfortunately this story did not pull me in like some of the other work from Larissa Emerald has. The writing was good, it always is. But, the story itself, the characters, were a bit boring. The love story was not convincing enough, the struggle of the main character was uninteresting to me, and in general i found myself looking forward to finishing this.

Kianso is a lawyer and was a Shaman in Hawaii but since his family died he gave it up. I did not like that it was not explained what happened to make him decide to give it up except that his mother and sister died. Sasha had a spell cast on her by a witch because she was jealous. She turned Sasha into a bird only letting her be human three hours a day. Story was not that interesting.

This book is another installment into the Nocturne Falls Universe. This story has to do with Sasha, who is a leopard shifter and Kianso, a shaman. Sasha is put under a curse by a jealous witch and turned into a bird, except for 3 hours per day. The story centers around undoing the curse and leads to Kianso and Sasha falling in love. Fun short story.

Sasha has a problem and hopes the witches of Noturne Falls can help. At the same time Kianso is trying to live a “normal” life and shut off his powers. But when their lives collide they make a new where forward where they both get what they need. I really like how Kianso promised Sasha is love no matter what the outcome was. This is a short story with lots of heart and humor. #CMCon24

A different take on the shifter as Sasha, the feline shifter in question, has been cursed into parrot form for 21 hours each day. Kianso is a shaman who has turned away from it for several years. How they come together as well as return to their proper paranormal selves is a nicely written story.

This is a solid, well written and likeable addition to the Nocturne Falls Universe series.

A Shaman denying his past and a cat shifter cursed by a witch to be stuck in bird form for 21 hours a day make for an interesting central pairing and original storyline.

There are high enough stakes to create investment in the outcome and the story features a charming and unusual romance between the principals. I appreciate the convincing, true-to-original Nocturne Falls atmosphere that grounds this novella as being a true part of the NF Universe. Well done!

A short paranormal romance.

This was a cute short story. In a way, I wish it had been longer. It would have had more depth, but overall, it had all the necessary ingredients. A magical male, a shapeshifting female, and a curse to be overcome.
