I haven't read the first book, but it's not necessary to enjoy this one.

NA novel with a former player Xander who turned sweet trying to make everything perfect for his girl Kylie. He was a little wishy-washy in his feelings as he he moved from man whore to a one woman guy. She's not had an easy life, and it just gets harder as the book goes on. Great little hook-up with their bffs.

This was a DNF. I strived to finished.

I couldn't go on when I hit 60%.

Characters behavior and dialogue way too immature. The actions seemed more middle school as well as progress of the couples relationship.

I loved Xander in the first book, and I could deal with him in this one.He was a little confused about his feelings, because he was always a player, and then he meet Kylie, a virgin and he is not used to those. I loved this story and this series is really heating up. This book was from the beyond. I read it in one sitting.
The story opens with Xander crossing campus with his best friend while freshman newly arrived Kylie and roommate Celeste are unpacking the car. Kylie trips while carrying overpacked box marked bathroom and the she takes a tumble and so does the box, right in front of Xander. Scrambling to pick up her panties and other personal girl items she's beyond embarrassed. Xander finds her cho I loved this story and this series is really heating up. This book was from the beyond. I read it in one sitting.
The story opens with Xander crossing campus with his best friend while freshman newly arrived Kylie and roommate Celeste are unpacking the car. Kylie trips while carrying overpacked box marked bathroom and the she takes a tumble and so does the box, right in front of Xander. Scrambling to pick up her panties and other personal girl items she's beyond embarrassed. Xander finds her choices in undies pretty funny and questions her about them. I loved her comeback quips and she's got a quick and sharp wit. She manages to recover her belongings and her pride and heads toward the building, he offers up his name, she hesitates and gives him her first name only. Celeste is her best friend from back home which is Ohio. Kylie wanted to escape that place she grew up to get away from her absentee alcoholic abusive father. Kylie's grandmother raised her after her mother died when she was young and the father started drinking and the girls decide Florida is the place for college and Kylie's on an Academic scholarship, she's no dummy. Celeste wants to embrace college life( and also get away from her parents), Kylie promises Celeste they will do the college thing together.
When the girls finish unpacking, they head to the dining hall and are sitting down talking when Xander and his best friend Finn walk in. Xander zero's in on Kylie approaching and overhearing Kylie telling Celeste about the "hot guy helping her and being embarrassed about the panties" etc. Xander can't help himself and speaks from behind her, "so you think I'm hot huh?" Kylie quips back, Finn walks up and parks next to Celeste and they spark like two fireflies.
Both guys are in a fraternity, and Xander is on probation because of his poor academic performance last year. Which is enough he has to repeat the classes per his Father's orders but deal with the cocky attitude of the Frat house president. Xander comes from a well off family and Dad made it clear that if Xander doesn't knuckle down and pass these classes he's cutting off his trust fund. Now I know how that sounds, but this guy doesn't act spoiled, rich or any of the things you would associate with a trust fund frat boy. With the exception of his car, he's a regular guy, doesn't flaunt his money because he doesn't want the problems that come with it. He's a player, historically. We don't see that in the book because he's only got eyes for Kylie now. He's decided to take it slow, because he really likes her and doesn't want her to be a one and done.
There's a few twists in the story, one I'm not going to talk about because you have to read it. It's left out of the blurb as well, it's part of the impetus behind his behavior with Kylie at times. These two are great together, I really liked them as a couple. I loved her, take no prisoners and she makes him laugh. He's really taken with her and she with him. When she left Ohio her Gran was in a health care facility and has Alzheimers. The day comes when she gets the dreaded call, her beloved Gran is gone. This happens at a pivotal time with Xander as well, and he's got his mother's birthday coming up, he and his 2 brothers are flying to NY the following weekend for that. Kylie doesn't have a car, doesn't have the money to go and refuses to go to the funeral, she and Celeste have a blow out and there's no way she could get a flight and get there on time for the funeral anyway. Xander offers to drive her, in fact he insists. He contacts all his profs and gets his assignments and off they go to make the 16 hour drive to Ohio. He's decided he's staying in a hotel. To keep away from her. The sexual tension is high between these two and Xander is wary. Reasons? Read the book! Since she doesn't want to be alone in the house her Gran left her before she even went away to school, she asks him to stay there, which he does. They get there in time for a little rest and then it's off to the funeral but not before a run in with her father. One of several. They had planned on leaving after the funeral to drive back to school but the attorney needs to go over the will with her and can't do it until Friday. Meanwhile, Xander is supposed to be flying to NY on Friday for Saturday's birthday party. Conundrum.
I'm leaving you there, because the book is a must read. This is not your average college student love story kind of thing, this is much more. These are two people facing some real life issues, and wow the growth Xander went through at one point I was happy. Great that Lexi put that in there. The writing is great, the interaction between the two is great and even when things weren't going well, the two of them acted like real people would. Not stick figures in a book.
Great story, great writing, just a well thought out plot and story with a full circle to it.... I loved it.
Can't wait for brother #3.

Excellent read! I really enjoyed Kylie and Xander's story. The pace of the story was just a little slow for me but overall I found it very entertaining. The characters were well developed and the writing is good. Overall a great read.

This book was difficult for me to finish. It was a slow moving NA about two emotionally immature but otherwise dull people with random things thrown in to try and give it more of a plot. Kylie trips and the box she dropped had underwear in it and was right near Xander.Kylie is really embarrassed as she picks up her undergarments then Xander questions Kylie on her choice of underwear. And she goes to head for the dorm again and Xander tells her his name and she just tells him her first name- Kylie. Xander was going to stay in a motel but Kylie doesn’t want to stay alone in the house her grandmother had already given to her. Before the funeral Kylie had a run in with her father. Xander and Kylie were going to leave after the funeral but the lawyer told Kylie he had some stuff to go over with her on the will that couldn’t be done until Friday. Xander is suppose to leave friday to fly to N Y for his mother's birthday.
I really enjoyed reading this book it made me laugh at times. I liked the twists in this story. I loved Xander and Kylie together. This had a good plot but it did drag some for me at times but not enough for me to give up on the book. I loved the growth in xander shown throughout this book. I also loved that Xander took Kylie back to Ohio for her grandmother's funeral. I really didn’t like Kylie’s father. He needed to get out of her life and stay out of it. I thought this was a well written book. There was chemistry between Kylie and xander right away and I liked this as they didn’t rush into anything. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.

I had to continually remind myself that the characters in Chasing Xander were still pretty much kids, so as to not let myself get too annoyed. And yet, I still got pretty annoyed because Kylie and Xander were so immature that I really felt like I was reading YA rather than NA.

Kylie is a brand new freshman moving into her dorm when she meets Xander, a junior. Their unfortunate meeting involved her underwear and tampons spilling out onto the ground and Xander um, "helping" her pick them back up. C I had to continually remind myself that the characters in Chasing Xander were still pretty much kids, so as to not let myself get too annoyed. And yet, I still got pretty annoyed because Kylie and Xander were so immature that I really felt like I was reading YA rather than NA.

Kylie is a brand new freshman moving into her dorm when she meets Xander, a junior. Their unfortunate meeting involved her underwear and tampons spilling out onto the ground and Xander um, "helping" her pick them back up. Cue the adorable (not) meet-cute awwws and Kylie getting busted by Xander later that day telling her best friend how hot the guy was who "helped" her pick up her stuff. What follows is Kylie chasing (hence the title) Xander and him denying he had feelings for her. It was like the little girl who chases the little boy around the schoolyard and cries when he hits her in the way little boys do when they like a girl but don't know how to act around her. When they finally do get together, it's very late in the story, and I felt all the back and forth up to that point was unnecessary and them getting together was kind of anticlimactic.

While I don't dislike Xander, I did find that he was a fairly stereotypical college guy - a player clear up until he met Kylie, who fought his feelings, not wanting to acknowledge them. He showed some depth when he opted to drive Kylie to her grandmother's funeral rather than go to class, knowing it would probably result in him getting kicked out of his frat and would further hurt his academic standing. But, generally speaking, he was fairly one note and not that interesting. And then there's Kylie. Oh God. She bugged me. She was definitely a young freshman. Her maturity level felt more like a high schooler, a young high schooler, than a college freshman, though. She was whiny, needy, insecure and very unappealing.

Chasing Xander is a very juvenile, immature NA piece of fiction. It read more YA than NA and I didn't really connect with or like either character all that much. If you don't mind college students acting more like high schoolers, then Chasing Xander may be your thing. I prefer my NA characters to be a little more mature, though, so I just couldn't connect with or like Chasing Xander.

xander wants to make sure he treats kylie with the respect and tenderness he feels she deserves, and this means holding back from just giving into the passion that sparks between them. he wants her beyond measure, but he doesn't want her to regret anything that might happen between them. he's already been with someone like that and it was the worst experience of his life.

though it takes a while for them to communicate openly about their feelings, it's pretty evident from the get-go that kylie and xander are headed for something serious. when kylie experiences the worst kind of loss, xander is there for her in a way that shows how highly he regards her. he'd put his academic career, his fraternity standing, his trust fund at risk for kylie. that's some pretty heavy stuff. and i will say that the one thing i wish we had a glimpse of, was how things turn out for xander. i mean considering it's a romance, it should all end happily, but xander had really backed himself into a pretty tight corner so more resolution would have been reassuring.

OH wow this was such a great book. I LOVED the back and forth between
Xander and Kylie, they are adorable together but what they have to go through
to actually be together just makes this story so so much better.
What Xander gives up to help Kylie when her grandmother passes is so wonderful
even knowing it could mean his trust. It shows how deeply he loved her (even he didnt
realize it at this point)

This is the second book in this series by this author. This book can be read as a stand alone read. This is a fun and sexy read from this author. Very well developed characters, they had fantastic banter between them. The story flowed really well and was very believable. I can't wait to read more from this author and to go back and read the other books in this series.

This is the second book in the Collins' brothers series and I didn't think the hero could get any better than Tanner. I was wrong! I LOVED Xander! He was your typical college frat guy but with a side of major swoon. The storyline, while frustrating at some points (the heroine wasn't my favorite but was likable), flowed very well and was believable. Overall great story. DNF! I couldn’t even get more than a few pages into this book before throwing up my hands in exasperation. The writing is just weird. I can’t tell which style it’s supposed to be written in because first person and third person omniscient happen in the same paragraph. Rather than give myself a headache, I’m just throwing in the towel. This book needs a good editor to help the author improve.

OK, first of all, I'M SO MAD. This had the potential to be a great comedy, like I saw in the first 20% of the book. Then the hot and cold thing arrives. And if that wasn't enough, he starts making a huge deal out of her being a virgin. WTF.

Enjoyable read. Grew to love Xander after he got over his wishy-washy feeling. Found myself rooting for Kylie from page 1. Hopefully Ryder’s story is in the works.
