What would you make of it when I say that I finished the book from start to finish in one sitting? Last night, the clock was telling me that it was time to sleep and I ignored it completely. And that was because, Sundari’s latest book, Scorpio Superstar was keeping me engaged and entertained. What I loved about the story was its novel plot. The book is ‘Written in the Stars- Book 1’ and is about the Scorpio-Pisces match. It is a romance between a Kollywood Superstar and his Website and Social Media Consultant. The story moves at a fast pace and has sufficient twists and turns to keep you hooked. And that the chemistry between the lovers is hot and electric is a bonus. Check out Scorpio Superstar if you are looking for a quick read with sizzling romance.

Chandrakanth or Chandru as he is lovingly called is the reigning superstar of Tollywood, a hunk, handsome, good-looking, smart and a man used to having his way. He falls for his social media manager when he meets her for the first time, even though she has been working for him for a while.
Ranjini, awed as she is by the superstar she still manages to keep her head when he woos her hoping to sweep her off her feet. She is beautiful, intelligent, and smart enough to stand her own in front of the superstar and a few of his ardent supporters.

The cover is beautiful.
As usual, Sundari pulls the reader into the story right from the word go. The characters are realistic and their emotions, human. She has described the domestic scenes of both Ranjini’s and CK house, in a way that they could be easily visualised. Some descriptions (I will not spoil your reading) are fantastic. The author has beautifully put in the traits of the zodiac signs in the story.
The maturity of the characters, the way Ranjini adjusts into the new role, and even CK’s independence and his attitude have been beautifully dealt with.
The best part is, there is a little sprinkle from one of her older books in this one too. I will not tell you, read the book and find out.

I’m used to Sundari Venkatraman’s books starting with a "bang" of sorts, sometimes with a surprise, often already with sizzling chemistry and attraction at first sight. But I’ll admit I was surprised at how sure the hero in this new book of hers is. Chandrakanth proposes to Ranjini after they’ve barely spent a few hours together, and I kept wondering how that would work out for both of them. Then again, he sums it up nicely on his own, telling the heroine “I lust you” instead of “I love you”.
And then the couple faces the fire—which comes in the form of his jealous, imperious “Periamma” (like the proverbial ‘monster in law’), envious and scheming actresses, and those who doubt CK has married Ranju of his own free will. I have to say they take all the challenges head-on. I liked it that there weren’t many misunderstandings, and that they are both so different but rather complement each other instead of making matters worse. And clever. Oh yes, both of them are clever, passionate and straight-forward. The few glimpses of the superstar among the more personal episodes and the scorching hot action between the sheets made it an entertaining read with an authentic feel.
Short – almost a bit too short for my liking – and with sizzle, sparks and sparkle; that’s how I would describe this book, which is another winner for the author.

The book follows the story of 29 years old Chandrakanth aka, CK, a Kollywood superstar. He has a super fan following; Tamil Nadu people see him as a Demi-God. (a glimpse of Rajnikanth came into my mind).
Ranjini is an engineer and a social media handler of CK. They both never interacted until CK fell for her at first sight and asked her to marry. He asked, she said Yes! and they both get hitched for life. Wait! Wait! The story does not end here; the story begins from here. Their chemistry and attraction are the basis of their marriage. Is it enough to stay together for life?
“Scorpio Superstar” has everything readers would look into a romance novel- love, drama, conspiracy, and a tinge of humor.
Sundari mam’s writing is as irresistible and straightforward as the chemistry scenes between characters she describes with beautiful plot-driven dialogues.
I love how the author blends Zodiac signs' traits in the story. I love the realistic storyline and excellent character development. CK will melt the readers’ hearts with his loyal and loving persona. Like every book of the Sundari Mam, the female protagonist is strong, independent, confident, and stands for her values.
The author always adds elements and incidents that reflect social norms' conflicts. For instance: Sidelining of Women’s career, complaints about the girls' dusky complexion, etc.
Overall, this is a fast-paced book with the perfect balance of romance, drama, and entertainment. I am eagerly waiting to read the next installment of the series. It is highly recommended to the readers who enjoy reading relaxing and satisfying romance.

The Story:
Ranjini maintains the site for the superstar Chandrakanth, Chandru for short. But she had never met him and when she does, the stars conspire to make him fall in love with her. While the superstar is head over heels in love with the dusky beauty, she is unable to stop being in awe of him.
With the consent of her parents, they marry, much to the disappointment of Chandru's periamma (aunt). Throw in an ex here and the two ladies make every possible effort to make Ranjini's life a living hell.
The story flows through the passion between Ranjini and Chandru as they fight against those whom they had once cared for.
Love at first sight
Most of Ms. Venkatraman's stories make the protags fall in love instantly. Though I missed that slight tug in my heart but the passion that grows between Chandru and Ranjini will start a fire in a reader's heart. With every scene, Chandru grew in Ranjini's heart. It was a slow fire which got started due to Chandru attraction for Ranjini and her being awestruck with his stardom persona and then slowly understanding, love and respect are roped in.
The old school of thought vs the new thoughts
While Periamma represents the old school of thoughts where girls are not allowed to work etc, Ranjini becomes an epitome of why a girl should work. A thought that is very well penned in this book. She didn't need to work, she had everything and yet she felt the need to retain her own identity.
The transition.
It was not easy for Ranjini to accept the life of a superstar's bride. With new makeovers came the jealousy of Chandru's ex. But instead of flying into rages of jealousy herself Ranjini handled them very well. I think it's the positive attitude in this story which made me finish it off in one sitting.

A very light and pleasant read.
What attracted me to the book was the name of the book.
I am a Scorpio. I believe in Zodiac readings and a book based on Zodiac love signs was definitely intriguing.
Loved Chandrakanth and Ranjini.
Sundari is defintely the queen of Indian romance.

No intro required!
With Ms. Venkatraman’s books, you need not give any introduction; you just have to read it. Once you read any one of her books, you’d end up picking all. This romance also promises to attract the readers for a lifetime binge of the author’s books.
A superstar of the south, Chandrakanth aka CK (or Chandru for a very special person) has almost the whole of Tamil Nadu and more than three-fourths of south India going gaga over him. In Tamil Nadu, people see him as a demi-God image. And there is his website handler, a normal girl with her business, living and leading a cozy life with her family.
The journey towards the culmination of their stars begins the moment they meet. The Scorpio and Pisces couple is sure to keep you hooked to their journey towards fulfillment, love, and completeness. And if you are a regular reader of Ms. Venkatraman, you’d know the sure chemistry between the protagonists.
An amazing chemistry and growing relationship is in store for you. Why is it always that her books make me set my relationship goals (of course with my husband ;)) higher? I and my doppelgangers-- the one in white with the halo on her head and one in black with the devilish red horns-- are thinking about that! As a matter of fact, we have concluded that we can easily write a thesis on Sundari Venkatraman and her works.
The nuances she adds, especially in this book, are so perfect and a natural part of the story that it reflects on the society and human nature. One such moment is when one of the characters complains about Ranju’s dusky complexion against Chandru’s fairer one even though, for Chandru, she is a stunning woman with a beautiful heart. Periamma’s insecurities lead her to say things which cause trouble and riles up Ranju. And of course, with a Superstar so huge it is natural for women to try and hook their claws on to him. The tale is weaved smoothly, without making it clichéd.

It is said that zodiac sign says a lot more about an individual than just when they were born. It can hint at what their dating style is, what color they are best associated with, what personality traits they have, and even the ways in which they can move the world.
Since each sign has such different and distinct characteristics, it makes sense as to why certain zodiac signs align better with each other.
‘Scorpio Superstar: Written in the stars’ by Sundari Venkatraman is exactly that and more, where we see just how crucial of a role the zodiac signs play part in bringing together the two protagonists of the story.
Chandrakant, fondly known as CK, the male lead of our story is a mega star, seemingly the reigning Superstar of Tamil Nadu, who is on the crux of his stardom falls head over heels for Ranjini, who handles his websites and social media.
In just a couple of meetings, Chandrakant feels an instant and extreme attraction towards Ranjini, so much so that he decides that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her and proposes to her.
They say that when it comes to love, Scorpio and Pisces are two zodiac signs who can get very intense, very quickly. And that is exactly what happens with these two leads.
One moment, every thing is going all right in Ranjini and Chandrakant's world and in next moment, it seemingly changes when doubt creeps in and the other external factors try to create differences between them, making them wonder if their whirlwind romance was just that, a short attraction that they felt towards each other for a while.

This is a contemporary romance fiction. Being a die hard fan of romance, I love the romantic vibes in the author's work. This is small in length yet very engrossing one. The leads of the plot were the ones who kept me hooked till the end page of this book.
The theme of this book is based on the chemistry of a pair who belongs to two different zodiac signs, who are well known for their good chemistry. The two zodiac signs involving in this particular book are Scorpio and Pisces. These two zodiac signs are considered to be a highly compatible match in real life and the same concept is being reflected in this book, the lead characters fell in love and they get marry instantly.
These two main characters are head to toe in love and go well together in terms of romance. They understand each other and support emotionally, which subsequently leads both longing to have a relationship for a lifetime. Our lead characters of the plot are Chandrakanth, who is a Scorpio man and his love-interest and wife, Ranjini, who is a Pisces female.
The plot begins with the meeting of Chandrakant, who is a superstar with Ranjini, an ordinary engineer who takes of his website. Then eventually as the plot flows, we get to know more about Ranjini's family members. Then it swipes to focus on CK's side and thus the reader gets to know the background and development of the lead characters, bit by bit in the plot. Yet inbetween the different incidents, the relationship of the leads shine brightly and it was well focused from the very beginning till the end of the book. The book is being layered nicely with the romance. The other characters involved in the plot tried to create hindrance in the relationship of the superstar and his wife but those were quite weak as compared to the bond shared by lead. Each and every character had been given sufficient scope to contribute to the plot. The language used is lucid. The narration of the book is kept simple and easy making it a great read for all the readers.
The theme of this book is based on the chemistry of a pair who belongs to two different zodiac signs, who are well known for their good chemistry. The two zodiac signs involving in this particular book are Scorpio and Pisces. These two zodiac signs are considered to be a highly compatible match in real life and the same concept is being reflected in this book, the lead characters fell in love and they get marry instantly.
These two main characters are head to toe in love and go well together in terms of romance. They understand each other and support emotionally, which subsequently leads both longing to have a relationship for a lifetime. Our lead characters of the plot are Chandrakanth, who is a Scorpio man and his love-interest and wife, Ranjini, who is a Pisces female.
The plot begins with the meeting of Chandrakant, who is a superstar with Ranjini, an ordinary engineer who takes of his website. Then eventually as the plot flows, we get to know more about Ranjini's family members. Then it swipes to focus on CK's side and thus the reader gets to know the background and development of the lead characters, bit by bit in the plot. Yet inbetween the different incidents, the relationship of the leads shine brightly and it was well focused from the very beginning till the end of the book. The book is being layered nicely with the romance. The other characters involved in the plot tried to create hindrance in the relationship of the superstar and his wife but those were quite weak as compared to the bond shared by lead. Each and every character had been given sufficient scope to contribute to the plot. The language used is lucid. The narration of the book is kept simple and easy making it a great read for all the readers.

*I am not a movie buff so do not know about concentric details about it ,But… I do watch Gujarati Plays and Short Urban Family Movies with a keen interest in it so might be my review will be biased or not up to one′s expectation .

Scorpio Superstar is well crafted by Sundari Venkatraman. It is an amazing book with lots of emotions. I'm glad to read the book of Ms. Venkatraman, no words can express my feelings. It just wipe my pressure away and relaxed me.
Plot of the story is very gripping and unique. I can't explain more as I feel that I might give some spoilers.
Apart from the two main characters the readers can witness some side characters too and they also played vital role in the story. The readers will enjoy the strong characters for sure.
The story revolves around Chandrakanth and Ranjini. It is a contemporary romantic genre and it was a quick read. Chandrakanth and Ranjini was just awesome, and they live the role. I loved the role of Ranjini. What is in the story? What about their life and how they meet ?Just grab the book and read the mesmerizing book.
I liked the way the author has explained the situations. Although I felt it was overflowing with emotions at some point and felt it unnecessary.
The character of Ranjini sounds too good to be true. The narration is really good the readers could feel themselves engaged with the story.
From the start till end of the book, just because of simple and steady narration it will hook the readers till end. I must say, Author has succeeded in giving that chilled feel with such a beautiful story.

Scorpio Superstar by Sundari Venkatraman is a contemporary romance novel. The story mainly revolves around two protagonists Chandrakanth and Ranjini who get married without much of the world knowing. At one particular phase they suddenly begin to experience strain in their fairytale wedding. While passion reigns on the one hand, there’s trouble in paradise on the other. Although CK is by her side, the Scorpio in him expects her to trust him implicitly. But can the Pisces in Ranjini accept him at his word? Does the tension then get to their relationship?
This book is outstanding. I do not have any issues with anything and I had a great time reading it. It is the kind of book that I would recommend to my fellow readers.
It talks so much more than just about love. It involves a lot of things.

Scorpio Superstar by Sundari Venkatraman is the first book in the Written in the Stars series. I have read quite a lot of Sundari's work in the past year and have started to like them too. The Malhotra bride series would be one of my favorites of hers. After reading one of the books in the Stars series, I was quite intrigued with the idea on which the series is based so I had to pick up another book.
The story revolves around our two main protagonists Kollywood Superstar Chandrakant and Ranjini, a website and social media consultant. It's love at first sight for CK when they meet for the first time. The instant love and marriage trope coupled with their star sign and their personality. Dear god, I was Immensely invested into the book, I just devoured the pages unable to stop myself, just turning page after page, till the very end of the book.
The story revolves around Kollywood Superstar a true Scorpio Chandrakant and his media consultant a true piscean Ranjini.
They are drawn towards each other right from the start, and the two get married but Ck's aunt and his ex are determined to brew trouble between the happy newly weds. Will this new relationship survive the storm?
This book was exquisitely heart-rending, the story completely unpredictable and writing beautiful. I felt instantly connected to CK and Ranjini, they were written with perfectly heartwarming depth.
The direction the plot took completely surprised, needless to say it was filled with angst, passion, drama and intrigue.
I am not a big fan of insta love troupe, but Sundari Venkataraman weaves the prose beautifully. I was so delighted with the attraction brewing between the couple, plus the whole zodiac sign. Scorpio and Pisces compatibility and their quirky nature are being discussed which added to the allure of the book.
I believe the story paints a beautiful picture of young love and passion. I feel this book will be very relatable to young readers. The heartfelt emotion are right there on the surface of each page. The writing is wonderfully evocative, with meticulously crafted storyline, making it a perfect read for me.
This book was Phenomenal!
The ending was truly the best thing ever, I am so elated after reading this book.

Vow......it is by far the best book by the author.....The book is so engrossing that I finished the book in one sitting.....Loved all the characters.....Rangini is independent, successfull, and absoluetly lovable....characeter of Superstar is so beautifully written....He is a true male who loves Rangini for who she is and is not an insecured from her straight forwardness and independence. The book has definitely made me view the world differently!!!!

When a Scorpion meets a Piscean, sparks are sure to fly!
What I liked about the book: There's a lot of research that has gone into various aspects of the writing which gives it quite a lot of depth. The moments between the superstar Chandrakant and his lady love Ragini are adorable. It is good to see the female protagonist have a mind of her own and not being sub-serviant to a super famous movie star. She is neither fazed by his extensive wealth, nor his fan following, and knows how to knock sense into people who are out to ruin her peace. On the other hand, his loyalty to her is endearing too. True to his nature, he expects that she trust him for who he is. So does she trust him? Does their love win against the odds? That is for you to find out when you read the Scorpio Superstar!
What could have been better: The end had me wanting more because there were plenty of unresolved issues, leaving me with some unanswered questions. But perhaps such is life, we solve some issues, we learn to live with some and I'm sure that's how the author meant it to be.
Having read Sundari's other novels, I cannot say this is her best, in terms of ending the story, and is perhaps too tightly woven for comfort. But it is surely a cozy read on a cold winter's night!

It is good to see the female protagonist have a mind of her own and not being sub-serviant to a super famous movie star. She is neither fazed by his extensive wealth, nor his fan following, and knows how to knock sense into people who are out to ruin her peace. On the other hand, his loyalty to her is endearing too. True to his nature, he expects that she trust him for who he is. So does she trust him? Does their love win against the odds? That is for you to find out when you read the Scorpio Superstar!
What could have been better: The end had me wanting more because there were plenty of unresolved issues, leaving me with some unanswered questions. But perhaps such is life, we solve some issues, we learn to live with some and I'm sure that's how the author meant it to be.
Having read Sundari's other novels, I cannot say this is her best, in terms of ending the story, and is perhaps too tightly woven for comfort. But it is surely a cozy read on a cold winter's night!

Yet another lovely story by Sundari. I never fail to be amazed by her books and this one was close to my heart as it was a romance between a. Scorpio (myself) and a Pisces (my husband) - actually the combination works! I thoroughly enjoyed it and read it in one go.
After 7 years I reread this updated version and I enjoyed it even more than the first time around. Reading Sundari's work is always a joy for me.

I've read quite a few books by this author, and I've liked her earlier books better than her more recent ones. And the trend seems to continue with Scorpio Superstar, as it's just not my kind of book.
For one, there is insta-love (or lust, in this case), which is something I always have a hard time to accept in romances, as the thing I love most about the genre is witnessing two people fall in love. So when that is kind of fast-forwarded, I feel cheated. Of-course there are exceptions, when handled well, there have been times I've been okay with the insta-love plots, but this wasn't one of those exceptions.
Moreover, while there was conflict present in the story, it wasn't strong enough, as the path to happily ever after was relatively smooth for CK and Ranjini, with only a few minor bumps in the road. And I know that in real life that sounds kinda ideal (because well, it is ideal), but in books it's pretty dull to read.
Having said that, the concept itself was pretty interesting - which was romantic pairings based on star signs. It reminded me of my college days, when me and my girlfriends used to religiously pore over all those Linda Goodman star-sign analysis, and try to justify the crushes we had. 😀
Also, CK & Ranjini were pretty likable characters, with personality traits very true to their star signs. Ranjini was especially interesting to read, 'cause while she definitely had her failings and vulnerabilities, she was also one tough, confident firecracker.
All in All: I think it's a decent one time read, if you don't mind insta-love, and want some light reading to pass your time.

In my quest to find something familiar by an Indian author I ended up reading this crap of a story. The characters are one dimensional, let's not even talk about story that's going nowhere as the author has no idea what story or character 'development' is about. The writing style is tiresome and uninspiring.
P.S.: If you're wondering how it got five star rating then wonder no more. The five star rating is given by fellow authors that are into flattery than helping the author learn her craft.
