I'm really not sure what I was expecting from this book, nor in fact how to describe it now that I have read it. A Rock'n'Roll Lovestyle is not your typical Christmas romance, nor is it your typical anything and for that I applaud it.

It works so well as it is a bit different to other books that I have read in the genres, there is some absolutely fabulous banter between Sukie and Pete which was always amusing to read, there are some completely vivid descriptions of Austria and Salzburg in

I loved that this was not your typical Christmas book, it was so much better! It was funny and really well written, I particularly liked the main characters and Sukie was just fantastic, it must be great to write about a character that you can have so much fun with!

The book had me laughing and it was a joy to read, very easy to follow and well planned out to give a great ending -4 stars from me - I really enjoyed it! And fantastic to read a different

Sukie McClaren is over the moon when her boss asks her to attend a business meeting in Salzburg just before Christmas. The reason for her excitement is that this is the setting for her all-time favourite film, The Sound of Music. She plans to take a few days of well earned holiday and extend her work trip for a few days so that she can take in some sights as well as the Christmas markets.

While Sukie is busy planning her trip and fizzing with excitement, Pete Wallace, the world's Number One, best

The snow globe was the thing that caught my eye first then the guitar but as you study the cover you see more and more. I’m not sure what I was expecting from A Rock’n’Roll Lovestyle but suffice to say it surprised me on many levels.

Yes it has a Christmas feel but don’t let that deter you if you are already ‘overloaded’ on festivities because this story has a lot more depth than that. It started fairly sedately and kept a steady pace all the while managing to creep under your skin and tweak the

Take a cat loving, wise cracking woman, the wrong side of thirty with a disastrous love life and no filter, and throw in a jaded rock star with a dysfunctional past and trust issues, and what do you get? A bitter sweet romance with more twists than a Viennese whirl, that's what.

Set mainly in Austria with some intricate sub plots, I loved the authors descriptive writing, believable characters, and that every chapter threw up another surprise, so you never knew where the story was taking you. I'd

I would like to thank Rachel Gilbey for offering me the chance to take part in this fabulous Blog Blitz. Which of course I jumped at the opportunity after reading such good things things about this book.
First of all I have to say this is the only Christmas book that you will see me blog about this year. Those of you that follow me will know I am bah humbug and really not a fan of Christmas.
But in all honesty this book isn't your normal Christmas chick lit it is more than that. With a story

A Rock 'n' Roll Lovestyle by Kiltie Jackson was a huge surprise, I didn't really read the blurb properly before starting. I fell in love quickly with the writing style and of course with the main characters.

Sukie McClaren is heading to Salzberg, Austria as part of a work trip just before Christmas where she is hoping to have a few days sightseeing around the sights that appeared in the Sound of Music. What she didn't expect was to meet Pete Wallace, a huge rock star that her best friend Elsa is

A fabulous debut novel full of fun and frolics!
Kiltie Jackson is definitely an author to watch. I enjoyed this brilliant and well-rounded novel immensely. Believable characters, plenty of drama and comedy and romance with an irresistible sprinkling of music and travel - now I REALLY want to visit Saltzburg... and that hotel.. All my favourite things in one book. Looking forward to the next...

Kiltie Jackson's debut novel A Rock 'n' Roll Lovestyle is a thoroughly enjoyable rollercoaster of a book from the beginning to the very end.

It's not the kind of book I would usually go for but something about it piqued my interest and I'm eternally grateful that it did.

From the first page I was immediately drawn into the life of the main characters Sukie and Pete and whizzed through the book at record speed, in fact I was a little disappointed when it ended as I wanted more.

I loved the main

I received an advanced copy of this book a month ago for review purposes.

This is a warm, funny book with a hint of suspense running through it. The author clearly didn't want to write a saccharin sweet Christmas novel which can be prevalent as we move towards the festive period.

The main characters - Sukie and Pete - are immediately likeable. Sukie is feisty, speaks her mind and loves all things Sound of Music related. Pete is a world famous, number one selling, solo male artist who would prefer

Well, what a combination!

A thirty-something cat lover who has given up on men, and has a strange obsession with the Sound of Music, and a famous Rock n Roll star trying to make his name as a serious musician, who has people (especially women) eating out of the palm of his hand!

Actually, it is the different personalities which make this such a riveting read.

Suki has a heart of gold but a feisty character and she isn’t afraid to say what she thinks. So when she meets famous musician Pete at a

Wow! I don't usually go for these kinds of books as it is outside of my usual reading genre. I'm so glad I did and felt like I was in good hands for my first Chick-Lit book! This debut novel is a page turner that I didn't want to put down. I found myself smiling and giggling at parts. But, I also found myself scowling at parts when certain characters were doing their crazy things. This is definitely not one of the typical Christmas novels that I could usually predict, had me guessing

Truly enjoyable!

Loved the storyline and the characters were so much fun and likeable. I enjoy the way the main characters banter back and forth as they slowly and unknowingly fall in love. There were sub stories written in the story and revenge was the main course! My only complaint was that it sometimes got much too wordy when describing such things as a room or entire home.

Altogether a good story well written!

I really enjoyed this book and although it's a romantic story, it was refreshing that it wasn't too soppy and the inclusion of the other story made it interesting and I was curious to see how it would end. I have now downloaded the next book in the series.

This was a refreshing, festive read with depth and soul not seen in many Christmas romances I have read recently. Sukie is a strong, independent character who has a successful career and 2 men she can rely on, Tony and Adam - her cats. Her feisty, down to earth and fun personality carries the book forward to make it a pleasure to read with a few chuckles along the way. She jumps at the chance to go to Austria, her dream destination, not knowing it will be a trip that will change her life when ...more

3.5 Stars. This was an enjoyable read from a first time author. I always enjoy when the rock and roller gets with the straight and narrow girl, add in the holiday element, and you have the makings for a good afternoon romantic comedy.
On a business trip to Salzburg, sharp-tongued Sukie meets uber-famous musician Pete and they establish an easy friendship. Their adventures through the city together and then holiday during Christmas proves to one another that they are more than just friends. There

Absolutely loved this book!
Christmas travel rock music it has all the elements that I enjoy reading about! Add to the package some brilliant characters and some hilarious run ins between them and you have an entertaining and enjoyable book that had me enthralled throughout.
Kiltie writes such fabulous strong characters, Sukie is so down to earth and feisty, you can’t help liking her! Pete isn’t what you expect him to be, he may be portrayed as the spoilt rock star, but you soon find out that

What a cute, well-rounded romance. I don't read romance very often, but I think this was a great one. I'm usually pretty critical of self-published books because they tend to skimp on utilizing editors, and while there are still a few issues I noticed, it didn't have typos or other amateur-hour problems that I've seen other self-published works have, which means it was reviewed with a fine-toothed comb at least a few times and I appreciate that.

Hi, so this book is VERY different to my usual reads but its difference was part of its charm when I read about it and I have to confess the authors name, Kiltie, which I loved the sound of also got me to decide to read it!!!!
Anyway.....Sukie has a great job, loves the Sound Of Music and cats ( and hot chocolate)
Pete Wallace is a reclusive rock star, trusting no one
They both are in Salzburg for different reasons and their paths shouldnt cross......but they do.......
Need I say more!
Its a fun

Sehr Gut!

Can I keep you?

I certainly will keep this book in my mind for a very long time and in my heart probably forever. What helped this book to take my heart would have to be the main character Sukie, independent, strong woman with amazing sense of humour and no filter to her mouth. But not only that, she was also good hearted, understanding and with clever head on her shoulders.

Opening this book, I thought I knew what I’m in for, romantic comedy set in winter/Christmas time. Your typical

Girl meets rock star/movie star/celebrity in unlikely circumstances. Been done before, right? Well, cast aside your preconceptions because this book takes a familiar storyline and gives it an almighty shake (a bit like the snow globe in the story).
From the start I adored the feisty and fiercely funny Sukie. A career woman in her thirties, she stands for no nonsense. When she meets reluctant and prickly rock star, Pete, in Austria they initially circle each other warily, not helped by the fact

found the first few chapters hard to get through but after that I really enjoyed it. It is a fun romance and the perfect read for the time of year. At the start I felt there was too much info drop. There was a whole chapter dedicated to Jodie's background which bored me and the chapter that randomly switched to Beth summed mum, was also boring and unnecessary. There where a few other parts like this that I ended up skimming over that would have been better spread over the book, or later on when ...more

What a wonderful read!! Firstly I hate snow but Sukie's love of Austria and its wintry weather actually made me wish it was snowing outside my window as I read!! Secondly I need to visit a schloss like Pete's and sit in a beautiful turret room looking at snow capped mountains! Then of course I need to go and watch The sound of music again as Sukie's obsession with the film is a big part of the story. Kiltie writes with such warmth which draws you in to the story..the wit between Sukie and Pete ...more

Sukie is a feisty woman who stands for no nonsense. Pete is a famous rock star used to getting his own way. When the two meet up by chance, it's an interesting encounter, to say the least. There are a lot of secondary characters in this book, but each one fits in very well and there is some great interaction between them.
This is a fun, cozy romance that will take you away from the real world for a while and lose yourself on the streets of Salzburg, with a backdrop of mountains and the Sound of

First off, "Chick Lit" is my least read genre. For some reason it's just not me, but I gave this one a try because it was recommended to me by two separate people. I LOVED IT! The two main characters, Sukie and Pete are so loveable even in their most human moments. Suki is such a beautiful, strong, and fun woman, a real joy to read. Watching the character's relationship build, continued to bring a smile to my face. The writing is fast paced and cohesive, hard to believe this was a debut novel ...more

I really enjoyed this book. It's a warm hearted, feel good romance with a hint of suspense running through it.
I'm also a big Sound of Music fan just like the main character Sukie and the author's descriptions of Austria, where much of the book is set, makes me want to visit and experience the same joy that Sukie felt.
I will certainly be recommending this book to others and will definitely read future books by Kiltie Jackson.
