Licking her wounds, singer-song writer Noelle travels home to Elkridge for some homespun comfort and a visit with her mother. Her surprise visit backfires on her when Maggie tells her that due to renovations, she has moved out of her home and is unable to accommodate her. However, she persuades Noelle to stay with Dr Ethan Brennen who rescued her when she got stuck in a snow drift. Lyz Kelley is a gifted storyteller.
Unmistaken wasn’t just a Christmas story, but a revelation of letting go of the past, it’s heartache, and grabbing hold of the present.
Ethan and Noelle’s story truly moved me, excited me, and had me shedding a tear or two along with festive laughter.
Ms. Kelley weaved a gifted message of love, acceptance, and reaching for your goals in this remarkable book. I highly recommend this book for everyone. I’m so glad I took Ethan and Noelle’s journey.

Unmistaken was a slow read. It took me days to finish it, because unfortunately the characters and the plot didn’t capture my attention. They were … bland … and two-dimensional and I couldn’t connect with them. Their actions and thoughts and feelings were not that palpable for me. I would have done a lot of things differently and put more force in my actions. For me it seemed as if everyone was waiting for other people to tell him/her what they shou

2 stars.

Ethan is a doctor and he hates Christmas because it brings him unwanted memories from his past. Noelle is coming home for the holidays to spend time with her mother. The story begins when she doesn’t have a place to stay, so her mother makes her stay at Ethan’s. Of course, Noelle and Ethan fall in love. The synopsis sounded interesting to me, and I kept reading just because of that. But the writing style is bad, too dramatic, with a lot of “motivating” phrases sa

Noelle Conroy, trying to steer on the snow and ice between the mountainside and the river drop-off -- late at night on the deserted road -- was not sure she was going to make it! Even her orange tabby, Cheddar, sat wide-eyed on the passenger seat! She managed to bring the car to a stop on a pile of snow, but then couldn’t get it moving again. The only thing left was to try to dig it out! No one even knew she was driving to her mom’s – it was going to be a surprise.

I've enjoyed every book in the Elkridge Series, and Unmistaken is no exception: it's tender, poignant, and passionate in every detail. Ethan is truly a hero in need of healing, as is the heroine, Noelle; and naturally, in any good romance novel, the process of finding, almost losing, and ultimately healing each other is what readers crave. Unmistaken will satisfy that craving in every way. Although it may easily be read as a standalone, having read the previous books in the series brings importa ...more

This book does stand on its own, but it is best read after the original Elkridge series in order to understand the community dynamics. Now for a warning: keep the tissues handy because you're going to need them. The emotional undertow is deep and strong. This book takes on some really big subjects, including love, loss, life, death, second chances, following dreams, secrets, and truth. And they're all handled with such a deft touch that you really don't realize just how deep the subject matter i ...more

This is the first book I have read by Lyz Kelley and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to reading the other books in this series. This book is about romance, and personal growth. Discovering that maybe you were wrong. Noelle surprises her mother by coming home for Christmas before going on to LA. But her mother surprises her as well by saying she can’t stay with her because she is having work done on the house and isn’t even staying there herself. Doctor Ethan Brennan doesn’t like the holidays ...more

UNMISTAKEN is a great example of a sweet and sensual romance. Ethan has closed his heart off from love after losing his wife and daughter. Throughout his life he has struggled to prove his worth to others, (especially his father), and now believes he is unlovable. He is just going through life in a numb state, living only for his work as a doctor. Life has dealt Noelle several blows to her confidence and psyche. She feels like she is failure in her chosen career and in her love life. Noelle also ...more

This is the first book by Lyz Kelley and I really enjoyed it. This is a second chance story between two heartbroken people. Noelle Conroy has come back home for Christmas to see her mother and earn some money so she can pursue her singing career in LA. Noelle's surprise visit doesn't go as planned. Maggie's having some work done on her home and there's only one person who has room to accommodate Noelle and that's Dr. Ethan Brennen, yes the man who just rescued her when she got stuck in a snow dr ...more

!is Kelley is a very talented author who always creates a quirky cast of supportive characters in each novel.

Ethan is a damaged hero who gives to everyone but himself and Noelle, who wants to fix him, struggles with the wrong information about her past and gives her tunnel vision about going towards her future.

Ms. Kelley takes us on a journey of self-discovery that includes betrayal, loss, secrets (with a hint of a twist), truth, love and second chances. She's a master at portraying two wounded

Nice to meet this author! I’ve had a thoroughly enjoyable day reading this book. The storyline is excellent; the characters are developed and wonderful; and, I loved Trapper and Cheddar. This book has “feeling” and that’s what makes a good book. Doc Tom and Doc Ethan had a lot to learn about women; songwriter and singer Noelle had to learn to trust a man; and Maggie got to watch it all from her café kitchen. This story was so well told. I loved the storyline that let us visit in Elkridge again. I enjoy spending time in this fictional town this amazingly talented author has created for us to explore. The characters in this book are realistic, they embodied traits that take some time to polish away the rough edges to find the true gems that lay within. And when they come together it is with heat, heart, and happiness. This story once again let's you experience the magic that is Elkrid

I haven’t read many of Lyz Kelley’s books before this one, but I have to find and read the others in this serie.
It was a well written story with a flow in it. The surroundings and characters - not just Ethan and Noelle - were so well described that it felt like I knew them.
I laughed, got tears in my eyes and even a stomach ache.
I read a lot, but this book will stay in my mind for a long time.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Love the Elkridge Series and I can't wait to read the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

A Love and loss so great can one recover? A heart so pure, can it stop to realize the unknown? Will Ethan and Noelle be each other's saving grace?  Lyz Kelley has written an amazing story, that has you questioning everything you believe is love. To see these two beautiful souls searching to find what they both want and need is something you cannot deny yourself. A great holiday love story just in time for Christmas.

This is the first book I have read by this author but it won’t be the last. Noelle is trying to make her dream come true and Ethan has lost his dream. The two connect and Noelle tries to help Ethan to open up his heart again to life.

I loved the way the story unfolded. Ethan and Noelle were easy to like but so was Noelle’s mom Maggie and Ethan’s Uncle Tom.

I received an arc of this book and voluntarily chose to review.

UNMISTAKEN was a great read. A doctor dealing with guilt and singer/songwriter dealing with doubt are great foils for each other. The story line is great so well written. I have already started another book in this series and it has started off with a bang!
