EM TAYLOR brings you an amazing new series of Regency stories based on the fairy tales you loved as a child.

Good!
I've read most of Em Taylors work and she's one of the only regency authors I read. Like all of her other regency stories, Lord Beattie is light hearted, funny in places, and well written. You can tell the author likes writing this genre.
At the beginning, I didn't think I was going to like Lady Emily, but once the story really started I warmed to her. She was quite entertaining.

Charming, feel-good and sexy Regency Romance
If you fancy an entertaining and charming Regency Romance then look no further than Sleeping Lord Beattie, the first book in a new series of books by Em Taylor based on the retelling of well- known fairy tales.
Sleeping Lord Beattie (Sleeping Beauty with a role reversal) is set during the cold winter of 1815-16, which is threatening to cause unrest and upheaval in the country due to the poor harvest. Gideon, Viscount Beattie, suffers a head injury and h ...more

A fun steamy story
Who wouldn’t want to kiss a totally dreamy man while he sleeps?
This is my first book by this author and, I totally had fun with this book. It was a short fun read.
Emily awakens the handsome Lord Beatty with a kiss. She is an absolute innocent character but, she does have her flaws by speaking out of turn and she is a bit clumsy. But she is quite the interesting character. Her being with Gideon was quite fun. She doesn’t have much faith in herself. She can be shy and thinks dow ...more

This is an amazing take on a fairy tale that I absolutely love! I really liked the reversed roles in this and that it wasn't full of fairy tale fluff. From the moment she kissed him I knew it was going to be a fun read. They are not your typical couple and are more real and relatable. I loved how they were learning about each other and that they both spoke their minds. I held my breath when they got to her brother's, but loved the talking to he got from Gideon and how he was afterward. I loved t

Sleeping Lord Beattie was originally published in November of 2017, as book one in a series. I found it quite by accident while surfing Amazon for interesting books. Having never read any of Em Taylor's work before I was intrigued by her premise of a "contrary fairy tale". I'm glad I took a chance as I enjoyed the story and plan to read more of Ms Taylor's stories. I feel I should warn you that this book is intended for adult readers, it's not nasty by any means, but may be too much information

Absolutely charming! What a refreshing book to read, in fact, I'm looking forward to this whole series now that I've read this one. Nicely written, entertaining, light-hearted and different. The author captures the Regency period very well and I really did feel I was back there in 'the year with no summer' - full of rain and gloom and hungry people.

From the beginning of the book I was intrigued as to how the story was going to play out given that there is a slight take on a well known fairy tale. In my opinion it worked perfectly, Emily wakens Gideon with a kiss and this sets them off in a path that neither of them expected they would have to take. Coach travel, highwaymen and brothers threatening to commit murder were only a few of the situations that the couple found themselves in. Brilliant 5 star book and I can't wait to read more of T

A wonderful, lighthearted romantic tale based on the popular fairytale Sleeping Beauty (with a role reversal). I’m a big fan or regency romance, it’s a joy to read how people lived all those years ago and the struggles they had to face. It can also be quite comical reading about the confusion of things we mostly take for granted these days, like what happens on your wedding night.

What an absolutely superb tale!
Another new author to me and I have to say I will definitely be reading more from Ms Taylor as this has me enthralled and smiling from the very beginning.
A wonderful story based on Sleeping beauty but given a simply fabulous new twist. Lord Beattie is a bit of a dish and Emily is quite frankly adorable and I love her. The story is paced well with wonderful moments of loving brilliance and tantalising excitement. All in all a truly superb tale!

This is a retelling of the fairytale, Sleeping Beauty. It is well done and clever and I love all the twists to this story. I enjoyed Emily and Gideon' s story very much! They squabble a lot and I found myself smiling quite a bit throughout the book. Emily seems a bit silly at times but is a very likeable heroine. Gideon is a very charming and memorable hero. The story held my attention pretty much from the beginning, right to the very end. Well worth the read.

I’m not usually a fan of regency romances, but this book was absolutely delightful. Delightful because when it is complete it leaves you with a smile and a warm heart. The book has humor thrown in that helps make these characters more relatable. Gideon and Emily were easily likeable and the tension was built between the two until it leapt off the pages. I highly recommend this book.

It has been quite a while since the author has written a Regency book and with the first book in this new series, she really does not disappoint at all. She has come back with a bang and more! It is like she has never stopped writing Regency at all! This new take on fairy tales makes it even more of a fantastic story as it works so well. I really cannot wait for book 2.

My first book by this author, not my usual read however it was quite enjoyable.
A reverse role sleeping beauty tale, Lady Emily a shy innocent self deprecating character awakens her “prince” - Viscount Gideon Beattie from a long sleep.
Likeable characters embarking on a new relationship. A very easy to read short story.

This story is set back in time and the humour the author uses to highlight the erotic parts is totally hilarious. It tell the story of a female who doesn't Adhere to social norms of the era. A must read.

An enjoyable light hearted period romance, with strong heroine. Similar to Georgette Heyer novels I loved to read years ago, all be it a lot 'racier'!
