A classic Sleeman romantic suspense. I love the way this author creates a cohesive team of captivating characters we get to follow through a whole series. The camaraderie, the banter, the friendships -- all serve to anchor each story as the team supports the current hero and heroine. And you can always count on a buddy for some comic relief when things get tough!

After reading this first Cold Harbor book, I am officially a Blackwell Tactical groupie and I can't wait to hear everyone's stories! An

Cold Terror really kept me guessing! The suspense of who was trying to kill Hannah was very captivating and the attraction between the two main characters was ramped up for me by the past that they needed to overcome.

This was the first book that I have read by this author and I definitely plan to read more. It was also the introduction to a series that I look forward to reading.

This is the first book I've read by Susan Sleeman. I'm so excited to find a "new to me" author, and one who has thirty or more books already published.

The characters were well developed. I loved Hannah and Gage as well as their supporting cast.

I found Hannah's feelings to be very believable in lieu of what she'd been through. I was surprised by how well Gage expressed his apology for the way he'd handled things between them in the past, as well as what his hope for the two of them in the future.

: COLD TERROR is the first book in Ms. Sleeman's Cold Harbor series and it does make this reader anxious to read the rest of the stories about military heroes who are doing what they love in the civilian world.

Hannah is on a working vacation trying to reconstruct a skull when she is brutally attacked. Fleeing for her life she runs into trouble, forcing Gage to rescue her and her son. But the hits keep coming.

This novella will make you want to keep reading to discover who-dun-it (I never guessed)

I will say right up front that I am not a fan of novellas due to the fact that they seem too rushed for the plot to play out well. But however I enjoyed this one. It was well written and the two main characters’ relationship is well done. This book sets the stage well for the next books in the series. I love Hannah and Gage’s story and the town of Cold Harbor.

An enjoyable book to read, had a good story with good characters. Will be fading the rest of this series, it is different from other books of its kind, a bit of religion but not overdone

This was a story that I chose from some no-cost selections. A great pick! Hannah is a forensic artist who does reconstructions. She is a widow with a young son. Suddenly, she is attacked, in the process of escaping she meets Gage, a long lost love. The attacker does not give up and the reader wonders how it will end. It was very exciting and yet it was written with lovely Christian overtones, which made the book even better. I do want to read the rest of the "Cold" books in the series.

When Gage Blackwell sees someone in the water during a storm, his rescue skills immediately kick in, the response ingrained in him. Little does he know the woman in the water is the one he left for adventure. The one he hasn’t forgotten. As Gage vows to protect Hannah, he must also protect his heart.

Susan Sleeman adds some unique elements to this story—an injured ex-Navy SEAL who has created a place for others like him to put their skills to good use, a little girl with a lifelong disability, an

Oh my goodness!
I am loving reading Susan Sleeman books! They are packed with suspense, intrigue, action and some twists and turns along the way!
I was hooked from the very first chapter and scene....WOW! What a way to start a book! It made me jump. I'm glad I didn't read this late at night while being alone!
Susan Sleeman has got a fantastic start to this series. I'm feeling I'm really behind the ball since I know there are a lot more books in this series. I guess I need to get reading to catch up

I finished reading Cold Terror by Susan Sleeman. I was so into the storyline with Hannah, David, Gage, Mia and the whole Tactical Team, I couldn’t believe it was over so quickly. I’m so glad it’s the first in the series so I don’t have to say goodbye for good. This story grabbed me from the first page all the way through to the end. I read a lot of suspense fiction and yet this author always seems to find a way to pull me in and keep me hanging on through the end… always wanting more. The depth ...more

Cold Terror is true to form , even when it’s a novella, Ms Sleeman gives us a powerful story.
Gage and Hannah were sweethearts when they were young but he left her and didn’t look back. Fast forward and they meet again by accident, literally, when he rescues her and her son David . Both are single parents when their spouses suffer tragic accidents.
Now Hannah’s and her son’s lives are in danger and Gage is determined to keep her safe.
It’s a story about loss, intrigue, finding faith and God, love

A riveting romantic suspense novella!

The development of both Hannah and Gage is wonderful. I love all the details that are given slowly throughout the story about the past relationship. It was great to meet all the members of Gage’s security team. I am looking forward to finding out more about each of them as each book in this series comes out.

The action in this book is fantastic. I was kept guessing about the details of the danger right up until the end of the story.

The book starts off with action and never ends which kept me on the edge of my seat. I liked Hannah right away. I loved reading about her job as a forensic sketch artist. It is a very rewarding job that can give closure to families. After losing her husband in a tragic accident, Hannah is trying to pick up the pieces of her life.

Taking a vacation with her son seemed like a great idea until danger enters her cozy little cottage. The struggle she had with the intruder was intense and I held my bre

No! I can’t believe this story is over. It ended way too soon. Cold Terror by Susan Sleeman is the first in her Cold Harbor series. Hannah is on vacation with her five-year-old son when someone attacks her and almost kills her. She flees into the night only to have to be rescued from the angry waves of the lake by a man she thought she’d never see again. When Gage learns that Hannah is in danger he brings in Blackwell Tactical, his team of specialists, to protect her and her son. Will they be ab ...more
I discovered Susan Sleeman's books about 3 months ago and she went into my top 5 favorite authors. Gut-wrenching suspense, page turner, strong characters but knows their own flaws. This is the first in a series and I'm definitely buying the rest of these books as soon as they are released.

Hannah Perry and her son are in Cold Harbor where Hannah, a forensic artist, is helping with a murder case when their cabin is breached and they flee in a boat to the mainland. When their boat capsizes, they are rescued by former Navy SEAL Gage Blackwell, Hannah's former fiance who abandoned her years previously.

Gage vows to protect the recently-widowed Hannah and her son, especially since Hannah's husband had been one of Gage's SEAL team members. He takes her to his compound, Blackwell Tactica

Another exciting series by Susan Sleeman has begun! The COLD HARBOR series begins with Gage and Hannah's story, but we do get to meet the rest of the Blackwell Tactical team in this story as well. I loved meeting the entire team, and I can't wait to read the rest of what promises to be thrilling series. From the very first chapter until the end of the book(which came a little too soon for me), we are drawn into a suspenseful tale that will keep you guessing all through the book. This is book one in the Cold Harbor series and what a great place to start. Susan Sleeman always does such a great job at writing suspenseful, mystery, FBI/police/Spec Ops type of romance books. I have never been disappointed in one of her books. They usually keep you guessing from beginning till end.

This series will focus on a group of people who all work for Blackwell Tactical, this book focuses on the owner, the handsome former SEAL, Gage Blackwell. Gage has had some issues he must deal with

She is doing reconstruction on the skull of a woman who was murdered to help the police discover both her identity and killer. Someone breaks into her home and grab her. She manages to get both her and her son away to her boat on the water, while setting the burglar's boat free, hindering his ability to come after them. Good read

This was a great book. I read a lot of books but it usually takes close to a month some times longer to finish one. I finished Cold Terror in less than a week. Since I don't read every day I think I did good. I was please with the style of writing Sleeman did. This was one of the best books I ever read. The story was believable and moved real smooth. If I had to make a complaint about it it would be that there wasn't enough on the spirituality of the group. Also at the end of the book a

I'm not usually one to choose a novella simply because it's just over too quickly! However, this was a great opening for this new series, and I'm looking forward to reading the rest of the stack of books on my shelf.

Though it's a minor part of the storyline, the fact that Hannah Perry is a forensic sculptor reminded me of some of my favorite books from Iris Johansen, which was just a fun connection. And I love the business Gage Blackwell started to help injured former military and police office
Note: I read this story in the Targeted for Danger multi-author series. Susan Sleeman is a new-to-me author, and I have to say she hit the right notes of intrigue, action, and romance, with a weaving of faith that had me hiding to the bathroom so I could finish this story without interruptions! Yes, that is probably TMI, but the story held my attention and drew me in until I had to know how it ended. I enjoyed Gage's and Hannah's relationship, along with that passionate kiss on the patio, their ...more

Absolutely great! I have been reading lots and lots of sweet, clean romance fictions and decided that I wanted something with a bit more suspense and action, but still clean. :) Susan Sleeman's 'Cold Terror' was a perfect choice. I loved reading about Navy Seals, police investigations, forensic reconstruction, family life including parenting and medical hardships and just the right amount of romance too. Little David and Mia added interest to the story and I look forward to reading more about th ...more

Will cold terror or romance prevail...

Susan Sleeman has quickly become one of my favorite go-to romantic suspense authors. If a book has her name on it I know it will be good and I'll enjoy every minute spent immersed within the pages. Cold Terror was all that and more. Plenty of romance and nail-bitingly tense moments are packed into more of a novella length story. A fairly quick read Cold Terror will have you gasping for breath and itching for more of Susan Sleeman's thrilling suspense. I defi

They had once been in love, but he didn't want to be tied down. He wanted adventure - and so he became a SEAL. Ten years later, on a stormy night they are thrust back into each others lives and end up fighting for their lives against another highly trained military man. They need to find out who he is before he can get to her.

The romance was typical, like you read in so many stories. He's hesitant, she's hesitant because of their history together. Neither one wants to commit, but they can't sta
