5 - "You're everything I never wanted and can't forget..." Stars!

I always say the same thing to myself at the finish of a book by this author, and it’s to question why I don’t read more from her. Shock Heir for the Crown Prince, is probably one of the best titles I have read from this imprint in the Mills & Boon stable for a while. I think when you pick up a book from this publisher there is a certain level of ‘knowing what you are going to get’, and although the tropes Kelly used in this bo

Author to avoid for sure. Hero and heroine not celibate during separation plus the writing was juvenile.

I picked this up on a whim because a friend semi-liked it and it looked so very cheesy and I was in the right mood. And it mostly didn't disappoint. I mean, it's flat-out wish-fulfillment, so you don't have the oppressed masses the useless monarchy rests their boots upon and I'm still trying to figure out where a country would be that's a five-hour flight from Geneva by private jet and yet mostly European in flavor (that'd be either Russian or Muslim lands so that doesn't really work). So yeah, ...more

hock Heir for the Crown Prince by Kelly Hunter is an excellent modern day romance with an old time feel set in a fictional European country. It’s the first of a quartet of stories about four royal rulers and the women who become their princesses – in name and in love.

Prince Casimir of Byzenmaach spent one idyllic week with language student Anastasia Douglas seven years ago, a week where a chance meeting in a bar led to days and nights of passion without cares and worries. But it couldn’t last, a

I hadn’t read a Kelly Hunter Presents before, but her debut Modern Heat (Tempted?)/Presents Extra is on my keeper shelf.

The opening prologue’s sexy tone was a bit off-putting, possibly because I hadn’t bonded with the hero yet? Because it promises Modern Heat/Tempted/Presents Extra-sexy rather than Presents? I see why the writer did it. There’s no hero-heroine interaction, a lot of backstory/set-up and it’s a way of creating tension.

The first meet builds on the story foundations, but lacks fun

I really enjoyed this one. Usually I don't love the books that spend too much time on the politics and external issues. This one had a good balance of love story, politics, and setting. There was not a lot of angst/conflict with H/h...pretty straight forward. He wants to marry her, she's reluctant and the story is essentially the king convincing her to marry him and stay in his country.

I LOVED the twist at the end. Did NOT see that one coming. At all. Well-done!

Overall, this is a low-angst story

Others have written spoiler reviews, so I'll just say that this was an OK story, part of a series about neighboring fictional kingdoms and the issues each ruler faces in finding an appropriate bride.

This was good! I was very curious to see what a Kelly Hunter version of a fake kingdom/secret baby/quasi-abduction book would look like and it still looked like the things I like best about her books. I think I'm going to like the second one in this series more, though, because I did get sad for the heroine's career and life, even though the point was well made that being a queen also probably lets you put UN translator/diplomacy skills to use.

WOW I savoured every word in this story, it is sensual (so very), it is moving, emotional, there is humour and the dialogue is awesome, MS Hunter has penned a story that is a must read in my opinion, I thoroughly enjoyed it from page one and fell head over heels in love with the hero Prince Casimir of Byzenmaach as he worked to win over the woman he had never forgotten Anastasia Douglas and their daughter Sophia.

Casimir has a lot on his mind at the moment, his father is dying he is about to beco

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review via Netgalley.

To be knowledge, I had never read a Kelly Hunter book before this one, and I loved it!

To be honest, the basic storyline of a reunion and a secret baby has been done many times before, but I like it, and this one grabbed me straight away by Casimir’s frankness when recalling his brief affair with Anastasia years before and his continued sexual response to it. This tied in well with his frustration over the way his father

Kelly's writing is just... Wow.

From the moment I started the book, to the last few paragraphs, I was enchanted by a world that only someone as talented as Kelly could've constructed. Her characters are strong, independent, opinionated. Her sceneries and narrations something to be envious about.

I would say, out of all the books I've read this past couple of years, this one is for the books. And one that I will sure remember for many books to come. The kind that you compare all others to, and fi

For a brief moment in time, Prince Casimir of Byzenmaach had a woman that saw just him. To her, he was Cas. They shared meals, made love, and he listened to her read to him in a variety of languages. Now, as he must soon marry and take over as King, he wishes to see Ana again. To say goodbye to the past and move on for good.

Anastasia Douglas loved Cas. The brief life they shared before he disappeared left her alone, but also with a child. Finding out he was a prince did not change that. Being dr

This was a new author to me and I think I would purchase her books again. I liked the storyline of a prince who goes "off book" for one week, only to meet the woman he can't forget. She conceives his child but, since she didn't know his real name until almost time to deliver, she can't contact him. When she learns who he is, she still doesn't feel she can let him know. What happens when, days from proposing to the princess he's expected to marry, he decides to look up the woman who haunts his ni ...more

This was a well written book. That said, unfortunately I didn't feel a connection with the H/h. They met again after 7 years and it was as if they hadn't been apart. I thought there was not really much character development and the romance seemed too convenient and easy. Sorry, I liked it enough to finish, I just didn't love it that much. I will still be reading books from this author, as some I've read I've given 5 stars. 7/10 rating for this one.

Shock Heir for the Crown Prince

This was about second chance. But that comes with a price. He is Crown Prince of his country and she has no royal blood. But what she does have is his heir. A daughter he knew nothing about, who is now seven years old. And he has a fiancee for over twenty years. What is he to do? What will she do. She also has a choice. But will he be satisfied with her?

As a category romance this ticks all the boxes. Secret baby, crown prince about to become king, a strong, intelligent heroine. But the delights that Kelly Hunter brings to her books are also strong. Even though the situation is dire she provides humour and passion, truth and tears. Bravo, Kelly. One of the best category romances I’ve read in a long time.

Yet again Kelly Hunter has caused me to miss appointments because I couldn't put her book down. This story of love reunited (my favourite them) is beautifully told. A wonderful sassy heroine and an irresistible hero whose lives are intertwined, and let's not forget that secret baby! I just loved it.

Wont read again.

I found this book humorous but lacking in any kind of will they or won't they. She was strong, independent and spoke her mind but gave in way to easily. He loved h but refused to acknowledge at lame attempt to draw out story

Really nice read actually.

I sort of guessed the twist. It wasn't a difficult or surprising twist to find.

I loved their chemistry and loved the fact she was shown as an intelligent woman. I thought it may have been nice to have more of the little girl but still was a nice read.
