Clinical Examination: With STUDENT CONSULT Access

Rate this book
The second edition of Clinical Examination provides a clear, practical and above all, superbly illustrated guide to all aspects of patient examination. The innovative use of full-color, clinical photographs and explanatory illustrations helps to explain and clarify the concepts and skills necessary to carry out an examination. The new edition includes a new chapter on pediatric examination. The body system chapters follow a consistent format, including structure and function; signs, symptoms, techniques, abnormalities; and examination.

Spectacular illustration program includes four-color photos and interpretative illustrations that clarify: underlying anatomy and physiology, examination technique, and normal/abnormal body movement and gait. Pedagogic features to help students assimilate and memorize care information include summary boxes, clinical features and common disorders; and summary boxes for examination of each body system. Question boxes stimulate critical thinking and further reading. Succinct coverage of structure and function of each body system, vital to subsequent understanding of disease processes and examination. Consistent coverage within each chapter: structure and function, clinical history taking, signs, symptoms and examination. Superb clinical photos illustrate signs of principle disorders.

lots of visually stimulating content by way of the excellent collection of clinical photographs but otherwise lacking. the one thing i liked about it most was the beginning where the authors detail out problem oriented medical record taking.
