Didi Oviatts novel, Search For Maylee, is a must-read for suspense and thriller fans. Id seen Didis name all over Goodreads and various blogs, finding myself curious to know more about this novelist. When I looked up her author profiles, I was surprised to see she had a few books already out in the market. I read the descriptions and settled on this one being my introduction to her canon; although I havent read the others yet (spoiler alert I will be reading them) Im confident this

Search For Maylee (2017) by Didi Oviatt is a wonderfully gripping read about a very important issue.

This book follows the protagonist Autumn as she sets about finding her niece Maylee who went missing close to her graduation from high school three years ago. Autumn begins to try to find Craig who she believes is involved in her disappearance and moves to where it is now thought he lives. Along the way she meets a group of young men including a central character called Jeremy who has many

First off I want to thank Didi Oviatt for gifting me an eARC of Search for Maylee. Didi did not ask me for a review. I am reviewing this simply because I want to spread the word on how amazing this book was! I was first intrigued by Didi's work by reading her blog and reading her book The Suspenseful Collection Volume 1 that she collaborated with Kim Knight. I was shocked by Didi's work especially that she is relatively new to the literary world. Thank you so much for gifting me the Search for ...more

Search for Maylee is an excellent read! Its chilling, suspenseful and well-written.

I enjoyed the story from start to finish. My favourite part is probably the motley crew of people Autumn meets when she undergoes the most dangerous search of her life. Its interesting because the driving force behind this story is Maylees disappearance but really the book is about Autumn. Her fierce devotion, bravery, and the extreme life changes she undergoes in order to find her beloved niece.

Quoting the author of Search for Maylee, Its a cold dark world we live in, and Autumn is about to find out just how cruel it can be. Strength and determination are on Autumns side and she will do whatever it takes.
Autumn, no stranger to grief and lost, is inconsolable when Maylee, her much loved niece is abducted a month before her high school graduation. Autumn has not given up hope of finding her - alive. She believes and is frustrated by what she sees as the detective in charge of Maylees

Search for Maylee by Did Oviatt has 225 pages and was published in 2017.

Thank you to Didi Oviatt for providing a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Oviatt does an amazing job of weaving both suspense and romance in her new release, Search for Maylee.  Initially the writing reminds me somewhat of Mary Higgins Clark - the Queen of Suspense- and that is a remarkable testament to the talent of Didi Oviatt as a relative newcomer to the literary world.  The simplicity of her

I love a good suspense and Search for Maylee did not disappoint! I just finished reading the last page and all I can say is WOW! The author kept me on the edge of my seat. I blew through this novel because I could not wait to find out what was going to happening next. The story begins slowly, building tension and background information.

Although the main theme is about finding Maylee, the main character of they story is Autumn. She is devastated that her niece has been abducted and for three

I am a big fan of suspenseful reads and I love me a good thriller. Didi has managed to come up with a new book that has a great plot, characters, and the writing is pretty good as well. I have only read a couple of her books but she keeps getting better each time she writes.
I will say that the relationship between Chance and Autumn seemed to develop strangely (unless I misread lol). After the one really long phone call mentioned they were like a couple, which bugged me for some reason even

I was thrilled to win this book in an online contest. The book I received was under a different title: Finding Maylee. It was changed afterward to Search for Maylee.

The author put her emotions into this story about the kidnapping of a teen a few months short of her high school graduation. There are plenty of twists and turns and surprises as Maylee's Aunt Autumn goes on a hunt to find her after the police and Maylee's mother give up.

Autumn moves to the state where Maylee was last seen and

A girl has disappeared. Three years later, Autumn, tormented by her nieces disappearance, sells her California home and heads to Colorado to follow her only lead on where she may have gone. Autumns search for Maylee begins and before long she becomes embroiled with lowlifes infesting the sick underworld of child abduction and abuse. Helped by various characters and police detectives, Autumn risks her life to find her niece while simultaneously becoming romantically involved.

Two things initially made me want to read this novel firstly, Maylee is in high school so this is a missing teenager, rather than a young child, and secondly, its an aunt searching for her niece, rather than a mother searching for her daughter. These two things made this novel immediately standout in a sea of missing child novels.

And its a good job its an aunt, instead of a mother, because Maylees mother is just awful she could not care less that her daughter is missing, ooo shes one

Search for Maylee is a story that tugs at the heart, makes the tear ducts active and keeps one turning page after page. From the first line, Oviatt builds up the mystery about Maylee and her disappearance, leaving one curious to know more, giving us enough information to keep the appetite wet, though never satisfied.

I liked Jeremy, he was a sweetheart. One with an agenda, but I couldnt help but like him and the propriety, protective way he viewed Autumn.
Autums character is admirable, despite all

"Search for Maylee" is a well-written thriller filled with shocking twists and turns. Autumn's desire to find her missing niece brings out her inner bravery, determination, and often puts her in dangerous and bleek situations. The author did a fantastic job of keeping the reader invested in the story.

Search For Maylee has its obvious faults but its strengths are in creating a decent suspense and developing the main character with some memorable moments giving this novel an edge past the sluggish beginning and redeeming itself by not going down an easy path. Crafting suspense and thrillers are possibly one of the harder genres to create and overall, the author does a pretty solid job.
