Alexa/Amber and her sister Georgia/Rachel are on the run after Alexa dug up some incriminating evidence for the FBI on Georgia's husband. Their names are changed, they are put into the witness protection program and sent to a backwater Tennessee town but not long after settling in her sister was taken and Amber is forced to run.

Amber tried to do the right thing by helping the FBI take down a drug dealer, Owen. Unfortunately, that drug dealer was also married to her sister, Rachel, and now they're both in Witness Protection. However, Rachel didn't want to go and as her new life doesn't suit her, and she doesn't believe what others are saying about Owen, she leaves with a local man. Amber needs to get her sister back, and ensure neither of their new identities are blown, but it's too late. She needs help,

I DNF this book at 45%.

This book was one of the most confusing i've ever read.
It was just so... bad but it held so much potential.
It had A LOT of potential. It had all the right things but I don't know if it was the writing or what, the execution of it just wasn't for me.

This is the story of Amber Kelly, who helped the FBI by collecting evidence to show her boss and brother-in-law, Owen Fixx, is really an arms and drugs dealer. She was so successful that she’s now in the Witness Protection Program (WPP). However, her sister was married to the man Amber investigated and he is now out to make both Amber and his now ex-wife, Rachel, pay for this with their lives.

Rachel was reluctant to believe Owen had already murdered his previous three wives or is a mobster. She

I really wasn't a fan of this one. I thought the story had real potential but it never seemed to come together. The writing was a bit scattered and lacked a cohesive thread. On top of that I just couldn't seem to connect with these characters.

DNFed at 36%. Lots of action, some heat and lust but moving slow in the romance or relationship aspects. Story is not believable and I don't care about any of the characters.

Like a few of the others reviewers commented I struggled with the main characters in this book. While the scenes were HOT, it seemed they only connected on a physical level. I struggled to feel a connection beyond that especially because of how closed off Gage was about his own life. Don't get me wrong...I liked Gage, a lot. He was completely selfless in his effort to protect Amber and find out who was really after her and how deep it went. Amber was...tough. She protected herself when others ...more

My Review:This book keeps you on your toes, their are a lot of things going on and yes there are stuff that are really out there and you know that there is just no way in hell, however you really do not care because you are still into the story. We meet Alexa who had just uncovered information on her brother in-laws criminal doings and hands it to the FBI, however things do not go as planned and now she is running for her life and trying to save her sisters life. Now let me tell you, you will ...more

It was a nice read but one that didn't thrill me.
The good points ?
The heroin has guts, she can defend herself and isn't just standing there while somebody else fights for her.
The action (because there was *a lot* of action !) took place in places and with people I'm not much used to read about, like communes for instance. Seeing that an ex-cop had been raised in one was surprising in a good way, even if the treatment of this fact was not uncommon.
The bad points ?
The villains were the usual

While this book was a romance, it leaned heavily on the intrigue side and it was way too hard to put down as it is filled with non-stop action! Amber (previously Alexa) is in Witness protection when her sister runs off, leaving Amber’s location known. Fortunately, there is one decent person left that sends Amber help – Gage Morgan.

Throughout the book, you see that Owen Fixx and his boss, James Mockerie, have used their drug money to buy off a few individuals at the FBI, Witness Protection, and

A woman on the run after she and her sister's new identities are no longer a secret. A man tasked with keeping her safe from the mob. While stuck together trying to survive, a romance blooms between the two of them.

The premise of the plot is simple but the execution is far from it. The plot is a like a merry-go-round, escape, evade, take shelter over and over again. I get that it takes awhile for the main characters to figure how their escapes get thwarted but the cycle of what they go through

*I have volunteered to share my review and all the opinions are 100% my own.*

This is the story of two sisters on the run and having to be put into the witness protection program, after finding incriminating evidence for the FBI to send Owen Fixx to prison. Problem is Georgia is married to Owen and doesn’t believe anything that Alexa has found on her husband.
While in WPP Alexa now Amber is working in a restaurant in Tennessee when she tries to call her sister Georgia now Rachel. But it isn’t

Adrenaline rush like never before! The story starts off quick and never stops. Crime lords, ex cops, ex feds, witness protection, who can you trust? If you think this is the typical military guy saves the girl and while on the run they have hot sex all the time, you'd be wrong. There are moments of intimacy, though short and sweet, but the suspense of the chase is far more thrilling. I'm really hoping this is the beginning to a new series, a couple of characters are definitely contenders and the ...more

This was just okay for me, I had hoped for more after reading the blurb about it. I definitely had a hard time with some aspects of the story and there seemed to be things missing for me as well. This was my first Jenna Ryan read and I would probably give the next book a shot because this storyline had so much potential.
One of the things I personally didn't like is that I am not a fan of characters falling into love right away or the insta-love trope. There has to be more build up and more

I would rate this one at 2.5-3 stars. It was a bit of a weird read for me. I certainly didn’t dislike it, and I read until the end because I needed to know how it all works out, but it didn’t grab me, I didn’t find myself unconsciously reaching for it in quiet moments. It wasn’t one thing, but a few minor issues that just added up.

The summary of this book grabbed me straight away. Sisters in witness protection, one is kidnapped, and the other is desperate to save her and assisted by a gorgeous

Her sister married an extremely bad guy, which she refuses to see, but Alexa knows the truth. Uncovered evidence and turned it in to the FBI, in fact. Problem is, some of the guys are on the take and even a new location and a new identity can’t keep them from being found. She’s just been discovered again and her handler

Dark Justice #1

Suspense, thrills, action, betrayal, romance and more abound in this the first book of the Dark Justice Series. I was hooked from the beginning and could not put the book down till I finished the last page.

Amber (once Alexa) was asked by the FBI to find information on Owen Fixx, her criminal boss, and fearing for her sister’s life she does so. At the point when both sisters lives are in danger they end up in the Witness Protection Program – even

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. I really enjoyed this book, but felt like the plot of a 1980's horror film, you know the ones where anything that could go wrong would. Once they think they are safe Bam! creepy monster is in the next room. That was most of the plot, which is what made it a great book, one never knew what they would find around the next corner, at the next hotel etc. Unfortunately it was usually bad guy(s) and multiple bullets flying. I'm a huge fan of books that are filled with intrigue, and this one had it in spades. It was lighter on the romance side, but with the cover to cover action, I could totally see being on the run doesn't make for a lot of time to get it on! See, Amber Kelly has a great job, which only has one drawback, her boss is notorious weapons & drug lord Owen Fixx. And when she agrees to helping out the FBI gathering information, it puts her in his crosshairs, and he tries to kill her. It doesn't help ...more

This was such an odd book and I can't really put my finger on why. I don't know if it was the writing, the characters, or the story. Maybe a bit of all three. It just had a really different flavor.

The book was really action filled. Every couple of pages something was going down. It really kept me invested in the plot and waiting to see what came next. The action and touch of mystery were the best parts to me. I did get a little confused about how Amber and Gage were always found by the bad

I'm rating this one with a wishy-washy 3.5 to 4 stars because I'm sitting on a fence that I can't seem to get down from. I'll start by saying that this is one of the most action-filled, fast-paced books I've read in a long time, and I really enjoyed that aspect of it. The hero, Gage, and heroine, Amber, are both very strong individuals, and I enjoyed their never-a-dull-moment story as they raced to stay one step ahead of the people after Amber. So why am I on the fence? Because of the character ...more

Dark Justice: Morgan is an action packed romantic suspense that more heavily draws on action and less on romance. Alexa/Amber and her sister Georgia/Rachel are on the run from a deadly mobster. They've been placed into Witness Protection and they're just trying to get through life now. But, Rachel is a stupid, selfish, spoiled brat, and quickly gets herself and her sister into more trouble and more danger. This is a new author to me. The blurb for it sounded really good and I thought it wasn't going to be really good. The premise for it sounded really good. I had a really hard time getting into this book. I really liked Gage, he does anything he can to protect Amber, even from herself and her sister. Amber, she had potential for so much more but I really didn't like her that much. There was just something about her that struck me the wrong way with her. There are many things I enjoyed about this read and a few that I didn't. I love how Ms. Ryan gives us a female character that can defend herself and has a back bone. I also enjoyed how we got mulitple points of view but at times it confused me.
