Annie Seaton’s second instalment, Her Outback Surprise in the charming Australian rural romance series, Prickle Creek, is a charming second chance love story. It takes the reader from the heart of London, through to the outback, with two attractive lead characters, vet Angie Edmonds and journalist come farm manager, Liam Smythe.

The hooking prologue of Her Outback Surprise begins with the sad demise of a two year relationship between an Australian couple that
Every once in a while, you just need that perfectly sweet romance with amazing characters and heartfelt emotions. Her Outback Surpries gave that and so much more.

Angie and Liam were in love when Angie’s work visa ran out sending her back to Australia and Liam didn’t offer to follow. Liam was fighting for his career and decided to remain behind.

Liam is called back to the family ranch to help his grandparents and cousins. When he runs across a wounded puppy he takes it to the local vet for care on
This is a delightful second chance romance featuring a couple who lived together in London for almost two years before her lack of a work visa necessitated her returning to Australia whilst he remained in London and let her go. Neither fought for their relationship and neither thought to tell the other that they loved them. Liam has returned to run the farm of his grandparents and is enjoying the change of pace. When he takes an injured dog in to the vet, he never expected the vet to be his ex, ...more

I really enjoyed Her Outback Surprise and the community of Spring Downs. This is book2 in the Prickle Creek series about four cousins whose Grandparents own prickle Creek farm in outback New South Wales. They are called back to help on the farm whilst their Grandparents have a well earned holiday.

Liam and Angie’s story is a second chance romance trope. They had previously had a relationship in London breaking up when Angie had to return to Australia. Neither knew the other was in Sprin

What a sweet second chance romance!

Liam and Angie were together for several years and broke up when she left London and headed back to Australia. She wanted Liam to come with her, but he stayed working. Their breakup broke both their hearts.

There was LOTS of intentional miscommunication and just plain them not saying what they were thinking and feeling. Also, it felt like they rehashed everything in their heads a lot. If some of that had been cut out I'd have been a little happier ;) But overal

Raise your hand high and proud if you love a good second chance romance! Okay, well if your hand is raised, you're simply going to adore Annie Seaton's Her Outback Surprise, a second chance romance featuring an drool-worthy Australian outback setting, an adorable puppy, and two main characters you can't help but like!

Her Outback Surprise features the alternating POVs of Angie Edmonds and Liam Smythe. Angie and Liam used to be in love, but then an expiring work visa had Angie sent back to

First thing that comes to mind is CUTE. This book made me cry and to be honest I don't know why I was crying in the first place.
This is a second chance story full of misunderstanding, lack of faith, mixed signal or not seeing what is right in front of you.

Angie and Liam spent almost two years together in London before she had to return to Australia. What I find it sad that in that two years neither of them had said (the dreaded) 3 little word – I LOVE YOU and they gathered the courage to do th

Liam and Angie used to live together when they were both working in England. However, when Angie had to go back to Australia Liam decided his career was more important and didn't join her. He still regrets that decision. He's back in Australia now, running his grandparents' farm. Liam loves living in the country, but he doesn't intend to stay forever. He wants to return to the city to work as a journalist again. When Angie's back in his life he's desperate to have another chance, but is it fair ...more

ARC kindly received in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book, but at the same time parts of the storyline seemed to drag on. Angie and Liam keep circling around each other but it takes them so long to get down to the truth of how they both feel.

I liked Lucy as a secondary character and the town fair and the way it all worked was very typical of Aussie outback/rural places and character.

I just felt like it took a bit too long to get to the heart of things between Liam and

It's an interesting contemporary romance novel. I enjoyed reading it. All the characters are good too. Although the ending was kind of anti-climatic but overall it's a good read. Anyone who enjoys a good second chance contemporary romance will surely like this book.

Liam and Angie met in London. They were together for sometimes but then Angie's visa expired and she had to move back to Australia. Liam never tried to stop her or offered to move back with her. He also didn't try very hard t

Her Outback Surprise by Annie Seaton
A Prickle Creek Novel #2

Liam Smythe has been working his grandparents’ farm for ten months when he takes an abandoned puppy to the veterinarian’s office only to find out that Angie Edwards is the person in charge. The two cohabited in England for two years before she had to return to Australia when her visa expired. Liam let her go because he wanted to make a name for himself in journalism. His assumption is that she has moved on and is with another man and sh

Her Outback Surprise is a sweet, second-chance romance set in--you guessed, it--the Australian Outback. It's second in its series, but if you haven't read the first book yet ( Her Outback Cowboy ) no worries; the bits you absolutely need to know about it are explained here too (why Liam and his cousins come back to the family farm, and what their plans for the future are, more or less) though the fact that this is the second book does make for a somewhat awkward start to this one with a bit of j ...more

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.

I am tired of books where the entire conflict is based on assumptions and could be solved by the two main characters having a ten minute conversation. I found most things about this book under developed but it was a fast read and I weirdly enjoy reading books set in Australia.

A terrific read! A wonderful, second chance-love affirming story. Liam Smythe and Angie Edmonds were lovers until Angie's work visa expired and she had to go home. Leaving Liam in London was heartbreaking for Angie. A year later, Liam is living and working on his grandparents farm. He brings an injured puppy to the local vet, and is surprised to see Angie again. Even a white lie will not stop Liam from winning her love. Ms. Seaton writes a richly rewarding story! I enjoyed and highly recommend.

Just over a year and a half ago, Liam Smythe, let the woman he loved return home to Australia. Now though, he's home from London and helping to run the family farm, but never did he imagine he'd run into Angie again. Still, he's not about to let his second chance with her slip away, even if he is planning to return to the city to chase his next big story as a reporter. Will Liam be able to win Angie back, so they can have a second chance at forever after; or is her fear of Liam leaving her again

Recently I read and really enjoyed Annie Seaton’s Porter Sisters trilogy so I jumped at the chance to read this one when it was offered to me. I didn’t realise at the time but it’s actually the second of a quartet revolving around four cousins who are “called home” by their grandparents to help take care of the family farm. In the first book, which I haven’t read, the cousins come to an agreement that Liam will stay on and take care of the farm whilst their grandparents enjoy a well deserved hol ...more

I received an advanced reader’s edition of this book from Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review.

Ah, back on Prickle Creek Farm! Her Outback Surprise is the second Prickle Creek novel, following Her Outback Cowboy (you can see my review of that here). These novels are set in the outback of Australia, where cattle ranches and small towns are all that's found.

Her Outback Surprise picks up a little bit after the first book ends, but Liam Smythe is the subject of this novel. (The seri

This is such a lovely second chance romance story with a fabulous setting and awesome characters, the second in a series about four cousins who are asked to help their grandparents who bought them up with the family cattle and wheat farm in the Pilliga Scrub region of New South Wales and now we have Liam’s story which starts in London and ends up in the outback beautifully.

Liam gave up his journalist job in London to return home to the farm and has settled in well and is thoroughly enjoying this

This book starts out with the heartbreak of Angie and Liam's relationship ending when she must head back to Australia and he stays in London. Well over a year later we catch up with this two who are now- unbeknownst to both of them- living in the same town. Angie is the local vet and Liam is rescuing a pup and needs help- well shocked is the least you could say about this encounter.

While Angie is still stewing in her hurt and anger that she wasn't enough for Liam to either love or make the bold

This book was a fun read about two people who loved each other but had never admitted it. Liam let Angie walk away from them when her visa expired and she had to return to Australia. He felt his career was more important and stayed in London.

Fast forward a year and they are both in Australia but don't know that they are living so close to each other. There is a bunch of misunderstandings and neither one wants to tell the other their feelings. I was kind of annoyed with Angie that she let Liam ke

This is my first Annie Seaton book, and I really enjoyed it. I don't find many romance stories that don't have a good dose of hot steamy sex that keep my interest, so I was pleasantly surprised when I got to the end of Her Outback Surprise. Loved Liam and Ange as a couple, the chemistry was definitely there, they just had to come clean with it. Willow was adorable. I think the book could have had less of the continual repeating of what went on between them in London, that definitely got old, but ...more

Her Outback Surprise is Ms West’s second book in this series, and is all about second chances.
For the lack of three little words Angie Edmonds returns home to Australia leaving fellow ‘Aussie,’ Liam Smythe, behind in London. After all, his job was more important to him than her, wasn’t it?
Two years later when Liam wises up the fun really begins.
Her Outback Surprise is packed full of emotion, misunderstanding and characters that have *real* flaws. And, oh my goodness, were those flaws frustrating

This is book 2 in the Pickle Creek series and it features Liam and Angie. This second chance romance takes us back to Gran and Pop's cattle and wheat farm. Liam lets her go once but will he really let it happen a second time? Liam is a selfish man. Angie couldn't be any less selfish. I think it's the old saying, "you don't know what you have until it's gone." The story line was great but a tiny bit more romance between these two would have been even better. I felt the intense attraction

Angie Edmonds and Liam Smythe had a wonderful life together. Well at least Angie thought so. Yet when her visa ran out and she had to leave London and return to Australia Liam chose his job over her. A year later he unexpectedly shows up in her vet clinic looking as good in his farm cloths as he did in his business suits. Liam quickly realized what a mistake he made letting Angie walk away from him but when he tried to track her down he found out she had already moved on with someone else. So wh ...more

I must say this was another wonderful escape into romance by this author. Having read the first one I needed to get into this one. It has a irresistible element in it- puppies. We also get to know real well Angie and Liam whom will take us on their journey. This is also a second chance one of my favorite forms of contemporary to read. You are along with them as the relationship unfolds with things as they seem but we see what is real. Emotions will also have a large part in this with us getting ...more
