Although I started this book without expecting much from it, it turned out to be quite a gripping, delightful read.
The writing is solid and strong, and it flows really well. There was hardly any parts that I found off, drag or rushed, it was surprisingly evocative. The characters’ emotional turmoil and oscillations are well depicted and engaging, it kept me hooked from beginning to finish.

Among everything, what I really liked about this book is the main two characters - Ryan and Claire’s emotio

Make Me Yours by Rebecca Brooks is a reunited lovers story with a bit of a twist.

Meeting up and coming rock star, Ryan Thomas, was a heady experience for good girl, Claire Collins, and he turned her world on its axis in more ways than one.

Almost six years after Claire left Ryan, her world is thrown into a tailspin when he shows up in the small town she has chosen to raise her daughter and he finds out that she’s been keeping a secret from him. They both made mistakes, but once they are

Received an ARC for my voluntary review for netgalley. This is the fourth in series of Gold mountain. This was Claire's book, with her ex- Ryan. Claire was pregnant with Maya, when she left Ryan because he could not get his act together. Ryan was so drunk that he could not remember that she told him that she was pregnant, so five years later he was shocked. Ryan is now sober, and he wants to meet his child, at least one time and then go back to his life of being a rock star. Claire does not want ...more

A second chance lovers dream, Make Me Yours was incredible. A chance second meeting brings former lovers Ryan and Claire back to each other.

Raw emotion makes up most of their journey. The storyline can get tough at points, and these characters manage to keep going with their heads held high.

I loved the character development, Claire’s strength and Ryan’s remorse. I felt a few things went left unanswered, which dropped my rating a tad.

Make Me Yours reads perfectly as a standalone and is recomme

Ryan would rather show than tell, “it’s not little right now, baby,”he said and brought her hand to feel the bulge that all her thinking and worry was doing nothing to lessen." I liked this book, Claire was such a good mom and Ryan he was a good guy and the man tried his best. ...more

Once upon a time, Claire Collins fell fast and hard for bad boy Ryan Thomas. But Ryan was an up-and-coming musician whose alcoholism was making him spiral out of control. When Claire found out she was pregnant and Ryan was too drunk to even talk to her about it, she did what was best for her child and left him. It’s been more than five years since they last spoke, but when Ryan comes to Gold Mountain on his comeback tour to find not only Cl

AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

After not caring for the last book in this series, I was hesitant to pick this one up but I'm so glad I did! Wow...this book is just amazing!!!

First I love how the author portrayed the realistic life of a musician and how easily they call fall into alcohol and drugs as part of crazy lifestyle. I thought her portrayal of what Ryan and Claire went through as a young couple trying to start a life together was incredibly accurate. The financial struggles and relationship stress was

This book was the best second-chance romance I've ever read, hands down. There were real reasons for Claire and Ryan to be apart, for Claire to not believe that Ryan was ready to be a father, and that time apart made them stronger and better for each other. This book was so good. It didn't leave me aching (highest praise for me in a romance), BUT I'm giving it five stars anyway, because I loved it, and it hit super close to home.*

Rebecca Brooks has been on my reading wishlist for awhile now. Make Me Yours marks my first time reading her. This is the fourth book in the Men of Gold Mountain series and is easily a standalone read.

Make Me Yours is a second chance love story mixed with a secret baby storyline. I’ve been on a secret baby kick with my last couple of reads so I was excited to read this book. Unfortunately, the story and I didn’t always see eye to eye. For starters, I would have preferred to have had a prologue d

This one I did not enjoy. Too coincidental, and the child just seems like a prop rather than a person in her own right. When they want to jaunt off for a weekend, the child is conveniently not there, yet when there is Plot Business to advance, she is There Causing Trouble. That is something that I personally do not enjoy.

I enjoyed reading this.

This time we get to meet Claire and Ryan, two people with a loooog story behind them. I felt for both these characters, they were both hurting in their own way after their break-up. However, they were able to create a life for themselves apart from the other, a life that had them… content.

I was really curious to see how they would handle this new meeting, since there were a lot of misunderstandings from their past. They both made a lot of assumptions about the ot

Claire is a single mother. She will do anything for her daughter Maya. Maya's father Ryan was the love of Claire's life, but things didn't work out between them. Ryan is a musician and their life together wasn't easy. Claire hasn't seen him since the terrible night she left him many years ago. Her friends are encouraging her to go out more and when she's finally ready to go to a concert the first man she sees is Ryan.

Ryan never stopped looking for Claire. She's the one for him, but he messed up.

Claire Collins has finally made a life for herself. She had left college and moved to New York with her aspiring rock-star boyfriend, Ryan. But chasing the dream, finding some success, and wild partying took its toll. Claire was left alone a lot and Ryan became an alcoholic. When he was around, she was cleaning up his messes and finally she left – for good. Now that she’s got a business, and a home in a town she loves, she

Claire Collins loved Ryan Thomas so much, but she never expected to see him ever again, not after the way she left. She did the right thing for her unborn baby at the time, especially since she was never able to deny Ryan anything. However, as they get to know each other again, Claire has to decide whether she's ready to let Ryan back in after working so hard to move on. Will Ryan be able to convince Claire that he's changed and is ready for love, family and happiness, or will the unthi

Finally, finally, a heroine in the Men of Gold Mountain series that I ended up liking and connecting to! I've liked the preceding 3 stories in this series (Make Me Stay, Make Me Beg, and Make Me Want), but they've all featured heroines that, for whatever reason, I didn't like or connect to. But finally, here in Make Me Yours, Claire is a heroine I ended up really liking and connecting to.

Claire has been raising her daughter on her own for the past 5 years in the small town of Gold Mountain. Her

I have been following the Men of Gold Mountain series since the very beginning, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that I'm addicted. Like so addicted that I want to move to my very own Gold Mountain. It seems impossible, but each new story in this series is better than the previous, and Make Me Yours is no exception! Claire Collins has always been a good girl with one noticeable flaw, she cannot resist bad boys. So when she met Ryan Thomas, the tattooed musician, it was game over. But as ...more

This is the fourth story in the Men of Gold Mountain series and it is my favorite! It is an emotional, roller coaster ride of a second chance romance! You will smile, laugh and cry! I would give this more than 5 stars if I could!

Ryan and Claire have a complicated history. Years ago, Claire gave up her aspirations for college to follow Ryan to New York, supporting him working as a waitress while he pursued a career as a musician. Unfortunately, he spiraled downward into a life of alcohol. Claire

A fun read, I hadn't read the earlier novels but each are stand alone and I don't think it would have made a great deal of difference, i was certainly able to get to grips with the story easily.

I liked Claire, loved little Maya, and really felt for her. she had been stupid when it came to Ryan, but when you're young and in love we do act in stupid ways. when the chips were down though she p

**Was given an ARC by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**

Needs proofreading and the way the book is formatted, with sentences cut off mid page only to finish on the next line, I give this book 3.5 stars.

Claire Collins is a good girl. She has responsibilities to do, a mortgage to pay for, a business to run, and a child to care for. She refuses to let anyone help her out. She stopped trusting anyone 5 years ago when her heart was crushed by her ex boyfriend.

Claire has always been the "good girl", except when she wasn't. She dropped out of college, followed her rock star boyfriend across the country, and got pregnant. When she tells Ryan she's pregnant, he goes out and gets drunk or more drunk than he already was. Tired with Ryan's drinking and lack of devotion, Claire packs and leaves. Everything she's done since then, has been for Maya. Until Ryan walks back into her life....

Ryan, not knowing where Claire went, is broken. He can't understand why s

It's not at all unusual for Rebecca Brooks to bring us a steamy read with the sassy characters from her Men of Gold Mountain series, but with this latest book in the series, she touches our hearts even more. Circumstances tore them apart but neither has ever forgotten or loved another the same way they did each other. He was at a destructive point in his life, she was willing to turn the other cheek for way too long ... but when a dawning brought a vision of the future to come into her mind, she ...more

Holy hell, what a fantastic book! This is my favorite of the series thus far! I ate this book! I didn't put it down and definitely kept my mind off post hurricane Irma woes. This is an absolute must read.

This book we meet Claire and Ryan. The depth of these two characters was so amazing and Rebecca's writing was so vivid you can clearly see the place in Washington that Claire lived. The last place Ryan would think to see her. The last place she'd imagine Ryan to show up. The place where her life

What a book – now this is it when it comes to second-chance romance i tell you.

The last book from the author didn't do it for me but this one made me a fan. While reading I was either blushing or crying like a baby. It was breaking my heart to see how much effort Ryan put to change who he was, how much love he had for Claire and above all how much he loved his daughter.

Ryan was hit hard when he found out that they had a child and that he couldn't remember that Claire had told him.

This is my first time reading from this author and the description at first glance called out to me because second-chance romance is my book jam! You have Claire who has made a new life for herself in a new town after leaving behind the love of her life five years prior. The idea was clever. They were a couple for a while, he is drinking and they split. She is pregnant and she ends up bringing up the child alone for 5 years.
I don't want to give away the plot too much to explain how they both excuse the lost time between father and child but it is a good original reason.
The issue I have is the meet up, by accident so agree to have a chat and they sleep together. After everything she has been through I wanted her to have more backbone, at the same time she hasn't
