A beat-up old car, a few dollars in the pocket and a sense of adventure. In 1972 that’s all Tony and Maureen Wheeler needed for the trip of a lifetime – across Europe and Asia overland to Australia. It was mostly basic information. I wanted it to have more specific places to visit. It was an ok read.

This isn't a bad book, but it tries to encompass too much, and so its not able to devote enough time to any one area, giving each area a very cursory overview.

I prefer the regional guides. This tries to cover so much ground, it’s not very detailed. Still useful, but it’s not a one-stop shop.
