Midnight Confessions

Robyn Carr

MIDNIGHT CONFESSIONS is book 10.5 in the Virgin River series. I started this series years ago and I'm on a mission to finish it up this year.

It sure was nice to visit my old friends in Virgin River. MIDNIGHT CONFESSIONS is a quick story but it sure does pack a punch. Sunny Archer is visiting Virgin River for the holidays. She was left at the alter and is licking her wounds. She really could care less about the holidays and that is the feeling she projects while sit

Listened via Audible Escape to a duet of this book and Under the Christmas Tree. This one was titled Midnight Kiss which I believe is also labeled as Midnight Confession - confusing I know.

Audiobook: Narrator - Therese Plummer
As always an excellent job. I’d listen to her read the phone book!

These were both cute, sweet and fun with just a touch of angst. I definitely liked Under the Christmas Tree more since it felt more rounded and well developed. But both are great listens for the holidays.

Audible Audio Version titled ‘Tis the Season with both Under the Christmas Tree and Midnight Confessions. I am reading the series in order so this review is only about Midnight Confessions.

Too short and Drew deserved more of a story.

A sweet novella that combines previously unmet, but mentioned relatives of prior characters in the series. Same nice writing by Carr with a happy for now ending that promises a bright future for Drew and Sunny. It was also a nice reintroduction to Nate and Annie after meeting them in the previous year's Christmas novella (Under the Christmas Tree.)

Light lovely holiday romance. This was the second in a set of novellas offered by Audible and it was perfect to listen to as I took down the Christmas decorations.
I did have hard time believing he carried her 2 miles on his back in the snow, but what the hey, maybe it’s happened! 😂

Learning to Move On

Moving on when you feel so broken can be one of the hardest things a person can do. We have to learn from our mistakes and accept that we can be better people and move on to a better life. We learn to realize that sometimes things aren’t meant to be. This is the theme throughout Robyn Carr’s novella Midnight Confessions.

Sunny and Drew have both been through pretty rough breakups in the past year. Both intended on spending the rest of their lives with their partners and hav

Last year at the same date, Sunny got left at the altar by the groom. For this New Year's Eve, she doesn't feel like celebrating and she's still sulking about what happened, but her uncle and his girlfriend convince her to go with them to Jack's bar where a charismatic and easygoing man will mess with her plan to stay away from men.

What a pleasant suprise this novella was ! I'm no stranger to the sweet town and its people that is Virgin River, but at the beginning, I thought that the heroine's

4.5 stars. Less than 5 only because it is a novella and I didn't get to know the characters as well as I'd like to. I love the sweetness of these stories. Oh to be adored like the Virgin River men adore their women! ...more

Back to Virgin River!

I was so sad to see the Virgin River series end so what a delight to go back there, if only for a while. Two people who have experienced a broken relationship meet at Jack's bar on New Year's Eve; one who has learned to move on and one who hasn't. Drew, tired of studying, goes to Jack's bar for a holiday drink and sees a beautiful, sad looking woman who's trying to hide in a corner, hoping no one comes to talk to her. Sunny has learned to keep a wall around her and not invit

A quick novella. I likes how this one all occurs on one night but provides flash backs to fill in the gaps. A different format was a nice mix!

Cute story, but I wished for more.

Sunny was left at the altar on New Year's Eve. A year later and she is still bitter, but visiting her uncle Nate and his fiancee Annie. To give them a chance to ring in the new year, she agrees to go to Jack's bar for a party that she is not in the mood for. Drew is taking a break from his medical studies and stops into Jack's where he is immediately entranced by Sunny. She is not as entranced. A very delicate negotiation ensues.

I liked this, but I just felt lik

Book twelve in the series is a cute little romance centering on New Year's resolutions.

Drew Foley and Sunny Archer are each visiting Virgin River for the holidays. Sunny was dumped at the altar the previous New Year's Eve and is in no mood to celebrate. But her uncle

I know that novellas are short, on pages, plot, and character development, but this is ridiculous. New Year's Eve at Jack's has the regulars showing up, along with Sunny Archer, Nate Jensen's niece, who is experiencing her one year anniversary of literally being left at the altar. She's turned bitter and solitary since, but Nate and his fiancee, Annie, persuade Sunny to come to Jack's. While she's there, with her camera, Drew Foley, Marcie and Erin Foley's younger brother, who's come to use Erin ...more

When I opened this book I was surprised it was just a few chapters. So I started to read then had to start again because loving this series I was surprised of the few chapters. Starting again I then enjoyed the story. Again Robyn brings in other members we briefly hear of in previous books, this time Drew the brother of Erin and Marcie. They had their stories told in previous books. This time Drew comes to the cabin to study and take a break from his busy medical residency. Sunny comes to forget ...more

Nice short story with a New Year’s Eve meeting and start to a possible romance between Nate Jensen’s niece, Sunny Archer, and Drew Foley, Erin and Marcie’s brother. Both Sunny and Drew had long-term romances fall apart. Drew’s fiancée decided she liked someone else better; Sunny’s fiancé left her at the altar on their wedding day.

They are wiser now, but are their hearts too battered to take a chance on love?

This was a “half book” in the series so not as well developed in the story line or characters. Generally speaking the writing style was the same though and it was an easy read with the same set up of character relationships to the other books in the series. The set up of a one day romance was kind of silly but that’s the course of this genre.

3.2 Stars: I waited months to get this novella. I thought 86 pages was a little short. Imagine my disappointment when it abruptly ended at page 68! The last 20 pages were an advertisement fir another book. This in my estimation, does not even qualify for a novella! It was more like a short story!

The story was sweet but was to short.

Cute but too short. I guess not many places to go with story though. Looking forward to next book out of order since this Amazon didn't show then in correct order and i had to hunt for this and others. I like to read in order.
A quick enjoyable romantic read. A photographer and a resident meet in Jack's bar. Both have been jilted and slowly recovering. The author addresses the typical issue; will they overcome their angst of a failed relationship to allow a new one to flourish? ...more
