1975 reprint of a 1909 work. I have not really read the whole 420pp- just skimmed and looked at the pictures. Text includes excerpts from period inventories and other documents relating to dress. Illus are B&W photos of actual objects, paintings, etc plus sketches from period sources. Of most use would be the chapters on military costume, ecclesiastical & monastic, academic & legal as well as ceremonial robes & orders of chivalry which are not often covered in other books.
