Ever since the day I stood in the library spinning the racks and waiting for the books to fall off so I could check them out, I have been grateful to have found the Diva series by Krista Davis. True story I would spin the racks at the library and any book that fell off would come home with me. The first I read in the series was The Diva Haunts The House, and then I could not wait to read the series. Anyone who tells you Libraries don't help sell books is wrong. I bought what I could not get in f

Sophie and Nina had planned a mini vacay to the beach, but an impending hurricane has changed their plans. A pop-up dinner party is just what they need. An event planned by someone else where they can sit back and enjoy the food with their friends. But not everyone is enjoying the event, Hollis Haberman and his young new wife are in attendance as are his ex-wife and their son. Most of the town has shunned the new bride while remaining friendly with the ex.

This story starts buzzing on page one and is a thrilling flight until you touch down on the final page! Event planners, Sophie Winston (down-to-earth), and her rival, Natasha (rather snobbish); are showcased at their best with their different personalities when a neighbor’s death stirs up trouble and a hurricane knocks out everyone’s electricity. Sophie hosts an impromptu backyard party for everyone to use their cold or frozen food before it spoils. I love the laugh-out-loud moments throughout t

This was only the second Diva book that I've read but I absolutely loved it! Krista Davis has an amazing way to weave a really interesting mystery with some history and lots of great characters who could be suspects. Even though I had only read one other book, it didn't take me long to get to know the characters so this could totally be read as a stand alone if anyone wanted to. Although the person who dies would be a bit of a spoiler if you decide to go back and read the other books. I'm still

I have only read a few books in this series, but I had no problem following and enjoying this story. It might have taken me a bit to sort out the characters, but otherwise, it can be read as a stand alone.
In this story, Sophie finds herself investigating the death of one of her neighbors, Hollis. Hollis came to Sophie with fears that he was being poisoned, and it appears that he was right. I have loved every single book in the Domestic Diva mystery series, and this is no different. I was so excited to be able to read an ARC from NetGalley, and it did not disappoint.
In this book, Sophie and her best friend, Nina, are preparing to go on vacation. Sadly, their vacation is cancelled due to bad weather, but it’s a good thing because there is a new murder in town to solve! I've read all the books in this series & have loved them. I must say that I'm disappointed in this one. It is well-written & has richly detailed characters as always, but I don't feel that Sophie & "the gang" were very nice in this book. They shunned Kelsey and then decided that she was guilty of murder just for being Hollis's second wife. They jumped to conclusions, acted mean and spiteful and made her life miserable. I didn't think this behavior was in the characters that I've grown to love ov

I love the Domestic Diva Mystery series! The writing flows and is deliciously descriptive. The characters are well-developed and engaging. The plots are always interesting, absorbing and captivating. I really can’t say enough good things about author Krista Davis! This installment of A Domestic Diva Mystery is no different. Sophie and her best friend Nina secure invitations to a hip gourmet pop-up dinner where death is ultimately on the menu. The book drew me in from page one and kept me guessin

This series just keeps me coming back for more. It's amazing what trouble Sophie can find doing the most everyday things, like attending a dinner party. Once again, Sophie is in the middle of a murder, when she finds her neighbor in the street at night gasping for breath. When he subsequently dies, it seems like everyone wants Sophie's help, including the victim's wife, ex-wife, and son. There is a lot happening in this book to keep the reader engaged. It also is another chance to highlight how

The Diva Cooks Up a Storm by Krista Davis is the eleventh installment in A Domestic Diva Mystery series. Sophie Winston enjoyed dining at an underground restaurant with her friends the night before. She is out walking Daisy when Hollis Haberman staggers from his house and collapses in the street. He is struggling to breeze. The police check on his new wife, Kelsey and she is coughing. Later that day, Wolf Fleischman, Criminal Investigator for Alexandria Police Department, informs her that Hollis

Oh how I have missed Sophie and all her cohorts!! I was so glad when I saw that Krista Davis was going to release another book in this series and I was absolutely not disappointed!!
This book had a great story-line, the banter between the friends was as good as ever and I am so happy that Mars got smart and dumped Natasha; if anything was a negative it was Natasha. I know she is a thorn in everyone's side, but in this round, she is mean. And petty. And way worse than she has been in previous out ...more

The Diva Cooks up a Storm is the eagerly anticipated 11th book in the Domestic Diva Mystery series and it does not disappoint! Sophie and the gang are back at it, doing what they do best...solving mysteries!

Sophie is back with all her friends in book 11 of the Domestic Diva series. Nina and Sophie are attending a new fad dining experience, secret location, secret cook and secret menu. This one has a very upsetting guest list with recently divorced Haberman's both in attendance with a new wife. When he dies the next day Sophie needs to find why her neighbor died since he just asked her about food poisoning. Great cozy with all the gang. You can read this as a stand alone. In this new book Sophie is approached by a friend who thinks he is being poisoned and asks her for help with finding out if it's true or not. She thinks Hollis should take his concerns to the police but that is something that he is not prepared to do just yet. When Hollis ends up dead Sophie worries that she didn't make Hollis talk to the police. Hollis who has recently married a much younger woman instantly becomes the main suspect but so is the ex-wife. A storm has hit Old Town and with it a murder or two or three have popped up. While the town is recovering, Sophie and crew are on the hunt for the murderer or is it murderers! In an entertaining twist the author has created multiple plausible villains so it isn't a quick, aha moment, but r

Sophie, our favorite party planner, finds herself smack in the middle of another murder mystery. This time unsettling. A neighbor and prominent attorney, Hollis has come to Sophie to ask her help in finding out if he is being poisoned. Sophie assumes he means by his new wife, but as another murder is committed and a past murder lurks...her viewpoint changes.

Krista Davis does it again with another fab installment in her Domestic Diva series! I felt so close to the characters that I might have been right there with them, enjoying coffee and goodies in Sophie’s kitchen while they dished about potential suspects. This one had me lying awake at night analyzing the plot and trying to figure out the killer. I hope this series continues to enjoy its well-deserved longevity.

Sophie can do an elaborate event in her sleep but she doesn’t get to enjoy it as a guest so her friend talks her into a pop up dinner where everything is a secret until the dinner happens. The dinner is going well until Hollis comes in with his very young new wife. The next morning Sophie finds Hollis breathing his last and sets out to find out who would want him dead. An enjoyable store with an added part to each chapter of a etiquette question Sophie answers.

Finally caught up with Sophie and her crew! (I hadn't realized I had missed two of the books!!) I loved this tale with the gang. I like how they all work together and just jump right in. It's the small-town life that I would love! :-) Although, I live near Alexandria and can't see this as believable for there (but what do I know!!). Enjoyable book with a wonderful crew!

“Alas, while the name “zombie bee” sounds humorous, the situation is not. A parasitic fly injects eggs into the bee. The baby flies feed off the bee, killing it. If you see a “zombie bee” at night, he’ll probably be lurching around near death.”
