This is a cute book for people who are just realizing that they are conservative and didn't know it because of college, media bias, etc... I have my very own card now and am proud member of the vast right wing conspiracy. :)

Mind-blowingly stupid, or stupidly mind-blowing, depending on whether or not you accept the supposed arguments put forward to arrest the "loony" left in their silly ideas of tolerance, complexity and helping the marginalised. Although there were some chapters where I was more aligned with the conservative angle, I am quite firmly of the former position in my summation of this book. It was insultingly dumb, boringly predictable and cringingly unfunny despite its many attempts to be the opposite.

Honestly, I don't even have the time or energy to get into it all. Suffice to reinstate that this book was devastatingly ineffective in its attempts to justify the right-wing rejection of anything that isn't wholly in praise of America, conservative Christianity, and the right for lunatics to get hold of a weapon and murder innocent schoolchildren because Frank next door thinks the Muslims are out to get him, welfare support is communism, and every insanely rich person has accrued their wealth through sheer determination, hard work and sacrifice, thus should not have to see a penny go to taxes.

I like to read about both sides of issues. While I knew what I was getting into based on the title of the book, I have to say that it went a bit too far. Rather than trying to de-bunk liberal arguments, it tried to be far too cutesy. As an example, to counter liberal arguments about universal healthcare or the abolishment of the death penalty based on European examples, the book argues “what do we care what Europe thinks, they eat snails and frogs.”

If that’s the best counter-argument you have...

But actually, there are real arguments against these policies. The book just doesn’t provide any.

What a joke. I read the book because I'm a liberal, and the book talks about how republicans can argue their case against democrats. Sorry excuses for arguements... only someone borderline mentally retarded would accept the answers in this book. It was a good laugh though. FAIL.

This book is great. It's a quick read and it's perfect for the "neo-con." Simply, it was a collection of liberal talking points with the rebuttals from the Conservative perspective. It will make you think and it will make you laugh.

I would recommend this book to someone who doesn't read a lot of political books. It covers just about everything the liberals will throw your way. The writer makes many references to other books I have already read. He does not go into depth or site a lot of sources like Hannity, Morris, Coulter, and Savage do, but it is still an informative read.

And the bonus is that you get a free VRWC card at the end. I keep mine in my wallet!

As a pro-America conservative Canadian, I enjoyed this book so much. Lots of answers to some very confusing questions like Public Health Care, Defense and Foreign Policies, role of the US in the world and many more. If you're a liberal, you should read this to understand more about our point of views.If you're a right winger, you still need this great handbook to defend yourself against the Lunatic Leftists. Highly Recommended!

As relavent today as when it was released. Next time a liberal absolutely ticks you of -- in other words the next time he speaks -- just toss him this book and save your breath. they won't learn anything anyway, but at least you won't waste precious oxygen and the words will still be there the next time they pipe up.

Excellent book... Mark W. Smith takes the most common issues and arguments proposed by the left and deconstructs them, "Barney-Style", in order to explain why they just don't make any sense.

The great thing about this book is you don't have to read it cover-to-cover, you can just bounce back and forth between the different Issue Chapters.

I don't like reading books that tell me what I already know, and this book did quite a bit of that. That said, if you're looking to understand why conservatives/right wingers/republicans think the way they do, this book will give you some insight.

This was an entertaining and light read ... but the fact that it was fairly superficial about some things (involving fairly complex topics) made it not as substantial as it could have been. I'd give it 3.5 stars if I could.
