Rate this book
The king of beautiful pub food has collected all of his best ideas into this proper cookbook, ready to warm the world on a grey day and restore the nation's good mood. Tom Kerridge's idea of food heaven isn't fussy gastronomy; it's proper 'man food' with Michelin star magic, including breakfasts that keep you smiling for the whole day, indulgent long lunches, teatime temptations, seasonal snacks and heart-warming suppers. In this cookbook Tom proves that everyone can make proper pub food, and the only place he wants to see a foam is on the head of a pint of beer! Over 100 recipes reveal his secrets for making real food truly amazing, including perfected dishes from his childhood and special treats he serves at his own one-of-a-kind pub. These recipes are simply the best version you'll ever have of the dishes everyone loves the most. This fantastic feel-good cookbook is the official accompaniment to Tom Kerridge's Proper Pub Food TV show, featuring all the recipes from the six episodes and many, many more. With excellent photography from Cristian Barnett.

Lots of reviews say they approve of the photos/recipes but it was too complex, they wouldn't make them at home. I've got a list to try (ILL book, must return pronto, may need to purchase?) that seem fab. Sure, some are out there but isn't every cookbook like that?
Looking forward to some weekend pub cookery.

Disappointed

Expect pub grub with a twist. These recipes were to complex for pub food. Not worth what I paid for it

This book does what it says on the can - say no more. Proper pub food, easy to follow recipes and well laid out. Looking forward to the 2023 book!

Hard to rate this one. As a collection of somewhat high-end British recipes, it’s great. Proper pub food? I was hoping for steak and ale or chicken and leek pie, fish and chips, burgers, deep fried carbs. If that’s what you’re after I suggest his “Pub Kitchen” cookbook.

I have given this cook book a 3 star rating as it's a lovely book.
The photo's are good the recipes clear However i feel that although i would eat most of the recipes in it if i was at a pub on a Sunday I would not cook a lot of them at home.

It is a great collection of all the food I miss here in Germany. Not only can I find the classics, but also a lot of soup recipes I'd like to try but also a lot for breakfast and desserts.
