OH MY GOD!!
I finally started reading it and I think I should have been prepared for this emotional trainwreck.
The new characters are okay, but I like Urie the most.
Ishida how dare you play with our feelings again? Arghhhh

How I miss him!!! *fangirling*
Okay, so we have a new series, Haise Sasaki being a protagonist ( a.k.a. Kaneki - come on! Everyone knows he is alive. ) The first 2-3 chapters were such a bore. But the story progressed and now we have really interesting new characters as well as the old ones.
Haise Sasaki is...basically Kaneki. LOL He is nice, clever, kind and hard-working guy. He has forgotten about his old life, he thinks Arima is his father ( I still hate him!!!) and Akira is his mother (she is ...more

Reading this certainly made me relieved. I wouldn't know what to do if Kaneki had actually died. But it makes me sad that he doesn't remember anything about being "Kaneki" or anybody at Anteiku... Toukyou Kushu is definitely a heartbreaking story; a very good one too. However, one thing I am relieved about is that even though Sasaki is kind and cares for his teammates, he can also be pushy if needed; this is part of Kaneki I loved. One thing I am intrigued about, is the fact that he calls Kishou

Review till Volume 7
Ken Kaneki has been a character very close to my heart. For me he goes to the same school of epic and endearing fictitious people as, say, Harry Potter or Frodo. A lot of people find goody-two shoes characters boring and one-dimensional and I am no exception, most of the times. A lot of people will also say that Kaneki's bouts of self-pity are pathetic and that they are a sign of weakness and cowardice. Not to me, though. Kaneki has always been endearing to me. I liked this kinda more than Tokyo Ghoul . Probably because it had a concrete ending . The plot is a bit complex and there is gore , as always . The Tokyo Ghoul series is nice for a one time read.
This is the first Tokyo Ghoul volume I didn't like all that much.
So things have changed. Out Ken is not who he once was. Now joining up with the doves he has his own team of people wiping out Ghouls. However, deep inside his brain he still has the demon we all know and love. ON top of that we're introduced to almost all new characters, a new squad sent out to take out ghouls while being part ghoul. Interesting idea but...

This was a pretty explosive start to what I hope is going to be a phenomenal second series.
I had quite a few questions at the end of TG and can’t wait to find out the answers to them (one of them being how Kaneki lost his memory...I really hope that wasn’t explained in vol. 14 of TG) as it has been a little while since I finished the first series.
In this opening volume, Kaneki is now known as Haise Sasaki, a Rank 1 Investigator who is currently responsible for Mado Squad (named after Akira Mado ...more

I think this series isn't for me right now. This first volume felt like a sketched out summary of a plot that assumed you know lots of details of the world already (and I was lost even despite reading the first volume of the main series this spun off of). There's also an attempt at major revelations and office politics that mostly seemed like flat bluster. The art is dark and atmospheric, but the action scenes are pretty incomprehensible. On the whole I feel a bit let down.

4.25 A pretty fresh start to a new series. Totally loved the art and the battles. Really excited to get started on the second volume.

I like the new cast of characters introduced and I'm happy to see some old characters too. I think Urie is going to be an interesting character, although I don't really like him right now. Also looking forward to Haise's struggles with his identity and what the heck is happening with that.
I think I really like Tokyo Ghoul! Season 2 of the anime was kind of a disaster, but I like reading it. I really wish they could've kept it true to the manga. Why must they always change it? Anyway so far the ...more

HE IS ALIVE!!!!
The ending last time with no eyes :( I though we lost him forever ...
So the sequel, starts after really some time from the last Raid ... the world has moved on ... we are now with CCG from the other side of the story with a new semi-ghoul squad... so I was O.K with it a new story from the other side...
but then when Sasaki showed his other side at the end of this volume I flipped... He is a live, kindda of at least but he is still there...
So, I was confused is this really him, or ...more

4 stars, some weak points but amazing
I finished all the volumes~
Second part of a masterpiece
I have to say I truly loved this one. It felt like a very important continuation of the original Tokyo Ghoul story. It gave a lot of insight on how the education of ghoul investigators work and gave a ton of background story on characters I got to know and love in the first part. The audience will also get introduced to an overwhelming amount of new characters. (in my opinion at least) It took a long whil ...more

This is a review of the entire series.
Tokyo Ghoul begins with a streak of incredibly bad luck disguised as good luck. Reports of strange murders involving cannibalism and monster attacks have been haunting the city of Tokyo. What started as rumors quickly becomes reality as more and more victims show up dead. The creatures behind the attacks are believed to be ghouls. They don’t quite fit the normal definition of ghouls, they’re not hideous, rotting, undead monstrosities. They look like humans, ...more

I need to rant after reading the manga. So. Many. Feels.
.
First of all, damn you White Doves!
How dare you mess with Kaneki... Messing with my feelings! (Be strong, my poor heart 😭) You and your bloody experiments, blurring the line between humans and ghouls... Well, who's the monster now???
.
Secondly, I'm still mad towards Mado after what he did to Hinami's parents. So, seeing Akira (his daughter) makes me want to kiss her--with a bludgeon 😈 And what's with her acting sad being left by Kotaro Amon ...more
