Okay, so we have a new series, Haise Sasaki being a protagonist ( a.k.a. Kaneki - come on! Everyone knows he is alive. ) The first 2-3 chapters were such a bore. But the story progressed and now we have really interesting new characters as well as the old ones.

Reading this certainly made me relieved. I wouldn't know what to do if Kaneki had actually died. But it makes me sad that he doesn't remember anything about being "Kaneki" or anybody at Anteiku... Toukyou Kushu is definitely a heartbreaking story; a very good one too. However, one thing I am relieved about is that even though Sasaki is kind and cares for his teammates, he can also be pushy if needed; this is part of Kaneki I loved. Ken Kaneki has been a character very close to my heart. For me he goes to the same school of epic and endearing fictitious people as, say, Harry Potter or Frodo. A lot of people find goody-two shoes characters boring and one-dimensional and I am no exception, most of the times. I liked this kinda more than Tokyo Ghoul . Probably because it had a concrete ending . The plot is a bit complex and there is gore , as always . The Tokyo Ghoul series is nice for a one time read.

Well, first of all, the art is simply GORGEOUS. What an improvement since the beginning of the series! Second, I’m loving these new characters, new personalities 🌚 and am so HAPPY that the old faves are there as well! Overall, beyond promising 👏🏼👀

So things have changed. Out Ken is not who he once was. Now joining up with the doves he has his own team of people wiping out Ghouls. However, deep inside his brain he still has the demon we all know and love. I think this series isn't for me right now. This first volume felt like a sketched out summary of a plot that assumed you know lots of details of the world already (and I was lost even despite reading the first volume of the main series this spun off of). There's also an attempt at major revelations and office politics that mostly seemed like flat bluster. The art is dark and atmospheric, but the action scenes are pretty incomprehensible. On the whole I feel a bit let down.

The second half of the original series was up and down for me, but this was pretty fun and enjoyable.
4.25 A pretty fresh start to a new series. Totally loved the art and the battles. Really excited to get started on the second volume.

I like the new cast of characters introduced and I'm happy to see some old characters too. I think Urie is going to be an interesting character, although I don't really like him right now. Also looking forward to Haise's struggles with his identity and what the heck is happening with that.

The ending last time with no eyes :( I though we lost him forever ...
So the sequel, starts after really some time from the last Raid ... the world has moved on ... we are now with CCG from the other side of the story with a new semi-ghoul squad... so I was O.K with it a new story from the other side...
but then when Sasaki showed his other side at the end of this volume I flipped... He is a live, kindda of at least but he is still there...
