This one is not for me at all. When I was offered this book for review, I thought it sounded like something I might like so I gave it a try. I do not care for Melissa Moran's narration at all. She sounds very monotonous during most of the reading although she sounds a lot more natural during dialogue so I guess the robotic voice is a stylistic choice. I just know that the narration made it very hard to stay focused on the book.
The story wasn't really working for me either. There is a wh ...more
In a world of many colors, Skye looks at the world through rose colored glasses. She sees the good in life, despite the many heartbreaks heaped upon her family. That optimism can prove to be both a blessing and a curse. The higher the aim, the more emotional the disappointment is when it comes. Luckily she has friends to watch her back and lift her spirits when the clouds become too much. When fate places her in the path of a stranger with a gift for music that calls to her heart, s ...more
The author’s expressive writing style shines in Nights at Seaside. I could feel the connection between Sawyer and the audience at the Governor Bradford Inn as he began to sing on open mic night. I sensed that the intensity of Sawyer’s persona and the words in his ballad ...more
I enjoy Sky's character. She's very caring, creative, and down to earth. She's the type of person I'd love to hang out with. Her interactions with the Seaside Sisters are my favorite.

I haven't read them all. And, I have read them out of order but
there isn't a real need to read in order.
Each one I've read is just better it seems than the last. Perhaps because we get to 'know' a different one of the characters better.
Nights at Seaside was a great read. The characters are real.

Sawyer could be such a contradiction, but it works so well for him. He is someone that I would love to know in real life.
Sky is so sweet and caring, and in some ways a little too sheltered. I love the outlook that she has on life.
