I loved this book so much. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book but I absolutely adored Truly Madly Awkward. I devoured it, I stayed up way too late reading it and I embarrassed myself in public by laughing so hard the librarian asked me if I was okay. Don't read a Beth Garrod book in public because you will end up laughing hysterically and people will stare. YES, I SPEAK FROM EXPERIENCE.

Truly Madly Awkward was honestly so fun to read! There's always a worry when reading a contemporary that

I needed something light after having read a whole lot of fantasy and.. this was it.
Did I enjoy it? Not really. Did it help me get out of my fantasy-ignoring funk? Yup!

So that's at least one good thing already.

I just.. I don't even know why I continued reading this book after reading Super Awkward a while back. It's cringe-worthy and full of drama, made-up words and.. well.. 15 year olds being 15 year olds the way I've never been that age? Sure, some things and actions sounded familiar but overa

In the 2nd Bella Fisher book, we see Bella navigate friendship difficulties, her budding romance (or is it?) with Adam, a radio competition that`s piling on the pressure to win a gig from her favourite band for her school and her mum`s new business venture. While I struggled to adapt to the writing style a little at first, once I adjusted I thought the plot was fun and I definitely found myself chuckling constantly throughout! I really liked the radio competition, which was the main plot point o ...more

Bella is back! Along with Tegan and Rach of course as the girls are excited about a competition to win their favourite band The Helicans to come and play a concert at their school. However, there's many stages and other schools to compete against as the radio station prolongs the process over a number of rounds per week.

Fit Adam and Bella go on a date that turns out to be just a friend date, much to Bella's disappointment, naturally.

Meanwhile Tegan is acting strangely with more and more gymnasti

I loved this book so much that I had to give it 5 stars! It’s a perfect teen fiction comedy and I think it would be a great holiday read because although the plot was detailed and lots was going on, it was a light hearted but hilarious read!

In many comedies, the storyline can be boring and not much actually happens, however I was impressed with this book because it had a heart warming story along with the hilarious, witty jokes that were thrown in as well; there really wasn’t a dull moment.

These books follow the story of teenager Bella Fisher who is just trying to get through life, dealing with school, ex boyfriends, her mother, annoying sister and most importantly her best friends. This particular books sees Bella and her friends trying to win a radio competition to get one of the girls favourite bands to play a concert at their school, but with an ex boyfriend out to sabotage her, a mother opening a new business and Bella’s friendship on the line, will Bella be able to pull it o ...more

Bella’s second adventure is brilliant, funny & wonderfully awkward - cracking hilarious moments & jokes more times than you can scream WTAT (WHAT THE ACTUAL WHAT) - at the pages. I loved the characters, & the story - it’s got an incredibly warm message in it this book, that kindness & respect for others is something the author clearly values deeply & ensures the characters are all people you’d want to have round for tea, crumpets & a game of Sushi Go! (except Luke & S ...more

It took me such a long time to read because I started other books inbetween, but I still really enjoyed this book. I was laughing a lot and cringing at other times but I'm so glad that everything turned out alright in the need for bella and her family. You had no idea what was going to happen throughout the entire book and that was exciting, I did enjoy this book better than the first one

This book was a great read with easy to understand text but also with a lot of made up works which also fleshed out the main character a lot with her childish personality. This was a very light hearted novel and was exactly what i needed for a quick simple but enjoyable read as it did make me laugh and is very relatable to the teen or younger generation. i loved this story but it was a cliche and didn't have a special take on the story with a predictable ending which is why i gave it a 4.25 but ...more
