Colette Rodriguez hates rules. Just ask her perfect, older, gorgeous, rule-following sister, Jana.

But now that Jana's away at college and Colette's a sophomore in high school, things are going to change. She's gotta find a way to get out from under her sister's shadow.

This is the third book in Jennifer DiGiovanni's witty and hilarious young adult contemporary romance series, School Dayz. It lives up to all of my expectations. Colette, the younger sister of Jana, from MY SENIOR YEAR OF AWESOME, tries to navigate her way through sophomore year. As the younger sibling of popular, high-achieving, beautiful Jana, Collette attempts to pave her own high school path by agreeing to take on the STEM club, mentoring middle school kids. She enlists the help of her best ...more

This was fun, flirty and adorable. Collette has so many rules and is a little insecure. She is so fun and clueless kind of like Will. They seem to come from different worlds but when they get to know one another they see they have more in common than one would think.

So how do these two adorable characters get their meetcute? STEM mentoring and stairs. Collette has always assumed that Will saw those below him as the little people and one that doesn’t care about things. When the STEM mentoring

This is a cute story.

I really liked the importance of STEM in this story. Collette demonstrates how it is important to teach younger kids about this possible career path. She also represents girls who are not necessarily leaders of STEM programs.

The romances and relationships in the story weren't predictable, so I enjoyed the story.

I liked that the story was told by Collette. It gave her perspective of events, and developed her character further.

I haven't read any other books in this series, but

The author really grabbed the concept of a school age romance. As you grow older, you can sometimes forget, all the fun butterflies you felt at small, odd moments. The ups and downs of the story felt like actual school days. As well as, the many problems that come with peer pressure. Grand gestures are always the rave. I would read many more books from this author.

Colette's Rules to Survive Sophomore Year

Rule #1: Always Follow the Rules (or, if they conflict with your personal principles, find a way to slightly bend them)
Rule #2: No Riding in Cars with Boys (but, if a boy offers to drive you home from school, have him drop you off at the end of the street)
Rule #3: Absolutely No Unsupervised Parties (unless you call it a Friday night STEM Club meeting)
Rule #4: Never Ask an Upperclassman for Help (Because it will definitely come back to haunt you)
Rule #5:

Another great young adult romance by Jennifer DiGiovanni! I loved this book!!! I was hooked from the first page and couldn't put it down. The characters are very well developed and believable. I identified with Collette because I too had parents with lots of frustrating rules. It was interesting to see how she dealt with her parents and their rules, being the younger sister, being friends with someone you have a crush on, and the ups and downs of being a teenager. I loved the ending ... I don't ...more

this book had me hooked from the beginning, I finished in just a few hours. i loved the story line between colette and will, however i felt a little annoyed with wills character, i wish he would have just manned up and told her how he felt!!
all in all it was a good heartwarming love story.

Such a fun teen romance! And yes, as usual with this series, I laughed out loud a couple of times. Despite being a strong young lady, Collette has the typical insecurities where boys are concerned -- especially as she deals with Will, who seems not to know what he wants. It's a sweet romance with several swoony moments. Gotta love a boy who's willing to embarrass himself for a girl. Great read!

4.25 - Undeniably Sweet and Adorable!

My Sophomore Year of Rules by Jennifer DiGiovanni is all kinds of fun and cuteness! Such a lovely read that left a huge dorky smile on my face.

This book is incredibly charming, absolutely hilarious and ridiculously adorable! The push and pull is amazing and kept me intrigued. Spine-tingling moments made me feel like a teenager falling in love for the first time and I enjoyed every moment! Oh and the ending…that hilarious romantic gesture – so utterly
