The Amazon description doesn’t accurately describe this short story; it’s a second chance romance between two small town high school sweethearts, one who left the other behind with a broken heart 8 years ago and now has unwillingly returned due to a family issue.

I liked Fay’s character and her bff Courtney was a nice contrast. Neil came across poorly for over 90% of the story and I just couldn’t get behind him as the Hero for the last short bit.

It was frustrating to have events or the amount of time that had passed change, like when one event was either the same day or two days after another event depending on who the character was, or for their relationship to suddenly be referred to as a month long when it’s only been about 9 days since they saw each other again. He left after they graduated and they had dated for “most of high school” or since she was 13, depending on the reference. They were both 26 and he had been gone almost 10, nearly 9, or 8 years, depending on the reference. After a year of being engaged, they had “built quite a history” for themselves in his bed, except two pages later when they’d only had sex a few times.

A bit of editing for such inconsistencies would have gone a long way toward making this story much better and less frustrating for the reader.

He doesn't want to stay, she doesn't want to leave. Is it doomed before it begins?

Neil Driscoll and Fay Turner were high school sweethearts.
He couldn't wait to get out of his home town, she never wanted to leave.
So he left and she stayed.
Now, years later, he's at a party and gets a call no-one ever wants to receive...
So now he's back in Asheville,to see to his father's things and attend his funeral. The last person needed to see still working at the diner, is Fay Turner, the one woman he could have stayed for; but didn't.

Now they're both in turmoil. Their attraction to each other hasn't gone away, but the same thing applies, he can't wait to get the hell out.
But can be convince her to go with him? Can she ask him to stay? Or is this a love destined never to be?

Neil left Ashville, Alaska nine years ago and broke Fay Turner's heart because he wanted things more than Ashville can give him. Only for him to realized that whatever he was looking for, he already found a long time ago.

Although it didn't really say much on what he was doing or where he was when he left Ashville, I thought that their story is something out of a fairytale book. Where the princess was left pining for her prince charming that one day will marry her and they will live happily ever after. It took Neil sometime to realizd that home is where your heart leads you to.

I so really enjoyed this book.
When in the middle of the book had picked up I was torn because I wanted more of his story when he left but I really didn't see much when he came back. I would have really enjoyed to find out what he was doing when he was away but hence that didn't happen the story just had fast forwarded to the HEA.

Another story where the H was obnoxious for the majority. This second chance romance was very slow, I found myself skimming over chunks.

Neil just graduated law school and looking forward to the life in Boston. He can’t wait to start new life but he gets his phone call telling him that his father has passed away. Now he back in Asheville, Alaska where he never wanted to go back to. He was only planning to be there for a week or two at the most and fly back to Alaska. But when he comes back to Asheville, he goes to see his first love Fay at the diner...
Fay has been living in Ashville all her life and she doesn’t plan to live anywhere else other than here. She is happy where she was as long as she has her romance books with her. But when she sees Neil walks into her diner, her real first love. But she ducks from the counter and tries to avoid him but her smart mouth Courtney won’t let her hide from him. They greet each other and they decided to have a dinner to catch up.
Fay and Neil have been apart after high school but both feels they were right back to where they were except Fay knows he will be living shortly yet she is drawn back to him even though last time they never had closure.
They are catching back and feeling comfortable enough that they are closer than ever but biggest problem for both is that he will be leaving no matter what and she won’t leave. Neil is falling for her but is it enough for him to keep him there or leave like he did before.

I am not sure it was more of billionaire story. Neil does inherit something from his dad but not really described other than owning a private jet. Plus cover really doesn’t describe the Neil well. It reminds me of Neil’s friend Eli. Some of the plots needs more work towards the end and Fay doesn’t seems so strong towards the end. It was short but lacking some story lines. I think I would like to read about Eli and Courtney.

Fay is all about her home town life. She lives in the house she grew up in. She has worked at the same diner since high school. She has had the same best friend for as long as she can remember. She loves her romance novels. The only thing that changed, her high school boyfriend left her behind when he ditched their small town for bigger and better things and she refused to go with him.

Neil couldn't get out of that small Alaskan town fast enough. He left when he was 18, right after high school. He has just finished law school, and is on his way to make a name for himself. Then his father passes away suddenly, and he is forced to go back home to settle his affairs. He didn't count on seeing Fay again, and still feeling all of those old feelings from all of those years ago.

Has too much time passed? Has the hurt lessened or been forgotten? Can they possibly move on?

This is a sweet and romantic second chance story that will completely captivate you from beginning to end.

The story is well written with good, sound characters you can't help but love.

I am voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book. This is my honest opinion.

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. I quite enjoyed this second chance novel. we meet Neil, Harvard law student who just leans his father died. unbeknownst to him he has to head back to Alaska...to his small town home that was too small for him plus the only girl he ever loved. Fay is working at the diner with her bff when she learns of Neil's dad's passing. she relives the days when they were young and in love...so she thought. but one day she's at work and boom
..neil walks in gorgeous as ever and is shocked. a quick conversation leads to him running outta there making fay sad. but what she doesn't know is that Neil was beside himself seeing her again after 10 yrs. Neil can't believe how beautiful she is and he wants to know her again. Neil invites her out for dinner then cooks for her at his house..a huge undertaking since he doesnt do this for chicks but fay is different yet the same fay he knew many yrs ago. needless to say their passion once again ignite...but at what cost? fays heart, her virginity, and her love? Neil must decide between fay and his law degree.

This is the kind of novel that you like to read with a glass of wine or a hot chocolate while cuddling in your sofa. Lovely just lovely! This will make you believe in true love again.

Fay is a good girl, that loves to read and still a virgin. She had lived all her life in little town Ashville, Alaska. Eight years ago the love of her life left their little town and she had not known a thing from him since.

Neil left home at 18 and had not look back since. He have lived his life, had plenty of woman and now that his done with law school, he is starting his career far away from home and the family business. Thats until the call that change his life, his father is dead...

She cannot belive it he is back and she cannot stop thinking of him. A random encounter with him and a date is all she needed to know she is still in love with him. He was the one she was waiting to give up her V-card.

But has he change his views of their little town? Can he keep her heart intact? Or will he break her heart again?

It's the story of Courtney (the friend), Fay and Neil - ultimately it's the story of Fay and Neil but as the story begins, it's a bit more difficult to understand who are the main characters. Everyone is from a small town in Alaska and while in high school Neil and Fay were in a relationship (from opposite sides of the track, so-to-speak) and once school was over, Neil left and never looked back. Years later, Neil has graduated from college and learns that his wealthy father has unexpectedly passed away. Ultimately his death requires Neil to return back to this small town in Alaska where he ends up running into Fay. Slowly, their relationship is rekindled and as Neil has always stated he would never stay in this town, those choices tear them apart and breaks Fay's heart. It's a good story - not a lot of character development - but it takes you through the ups and downs of this on-again, off-again relationship and lets you follow along to see if they can overcome their differences and desires and truly find happiness.

Does he deserve a second chance....

Falling for Her is the love story of Fay and Neil. They were high school sweethearts but Neil left town for college as soon as he was able to without every looking back, leaving Fay there without a word. But now he has come back to town after the death of his father. He sees have again and something deep within him starts to burn. Quickly Neil decides that Fay is the woman for him. She is still in love with him even after all these years. But that does not mean they will have an easy journey in this angsty story with a number of unexpected twists. Neil learns that sometimes what you really need is exactly where you left it so long ago.
This book is a republication from a few years ago but it is still a great read. The story-line is a true romance with lots of twists and emotions and the characters are both very likeable, along with the supporting characters. This was a really nice read.

I received a copy of this book and am leaving my honest review. My opinions are all my own.

This book grabs you and holds on to you till the very end. Neil had left Fay and Asheville, Alaska as soon as he could and hadn’t been back in years. He father died and he inherited his oil business only to find a mess he had to straighten out. He had to go back to Asheville. The story really begins to take off from here.
The story contains a forgiveness, lust, sexy scenes, memories from the past, interference, fear, and love. Will Faye get her fairytale ending or wind up with her heart broken again? Will Neil stay in Asheville or leave again? Grab the book and a soft chair and find out for yourself. You will be so glad you did.
The combined talents of Mia and Bella made this book into a world where you are involved in the lives of their characters. I felt like I was living Fay’s life. Such talented writers. I hope to see future books written with them together. I received an ARC and I am leaving a voluntary review.

Falling for Her is a second chance romance by Mia Ford. This a great short story to be able to just sit back for a couple of hours to read.
It's filled with chemistry, romance, and forgiveness.

Neil Driscoll left is girlfriend Fay Turner in
the small town of Ashville, Alaska, when he was eighteen years old and has never looked back. Almost ten years later, he returns to get his father's affairs in order after his passing. He never planned on running into Fay, who is sexy, smart and still a virgin. When the start spending time together will Neil change is mind about living in Ashville or will these two lovers split up again? Read the story to find out. Eli and Courtney [Neil and Fay's friends] are great supporting characters and I hope to see them get their own story.

This was a sweet and gentle second chance romance, since our heroine (Fay) had retained her innocence (a true achievement at 26) this was reflected in the tone of the book, which gave it a more wholesome feel, despite their being lust and longing from both our sweet heroine and the stubborn and somewhat misguided hero (Neil) or he just needed Fay's help to really see what was important in life!

I liked that it wasn't an instant change of personality and priorities and that Neil has to work hard to find his new place in the world... one hopefully with his true love by his side!

The book is a joint work from the talents of Mia and Bella, which seems to be a great partnership and gave us a wonderful story, with interesting characters and a depth that made you feel part of the story. I was giving this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Who knew that a love could last for almost ten years apart from one another. That is what happened to Fay and Neil. Fay always knew that Neil was the one. Why else hold on to her virginity for so long. Neil thought that their crappy small town was a waste land and he would not be happy there. Coming back was hard on him but Fay helped him get through it all. I loved how his character was written and how torn up he was. He couldn't figure out what was going on with him. I laughed when it hit him all of the sudden. This was a good story but I wished that there was a little more detail about what happened when they were apart after Neil left Alaska. And what made him come back to get Fay. But other then that this was a fantastic book.

OMG I just got thru reading this and I must say, I want the fairytale like Fay and Neil got. They had a hard road with time in between but they found each other a second and third time. They say third is the charm and believe you me it was. I have to give it to Eli and Charlotte those were two die heart friends. Charlotte there to pick Fay up not once but twice and willing to give Neil the beatdown that he deserve. Eli the sounding board of reason. Not giving bad advice even when he knew the truth. Fay has a heart of gold because if it was me and he left the first time, that would’ve been it. She didn’t get mad, she didn’t get even, she didn’t ask questions. She just let the love that she carry blossom into her present, making way for her future.

This book brings us Fay Turner and Neil Driscoll. Fay has lived in Asheville, Alaska her whole life and is very content. Neil and his rich family, used to live there, but he didn't want to stay, so he left very quickly. Neil and Fay had dated and when he left, there was really no reason as to why he broke up with her. Several years later, Neil's father passes away, (his mother had previously died), and he must come home to take care of the family home and business. At this time, Neil was almost read to take the bar exam. When Neil arrives in town, he is shocked to see Fay still working at the diner. She was also shocked at seeing him. I loved her friend Celeste. She was a no nonsense, tell it like it is friend. I really had a hard time liking Neil and I thought Fay gave into him to easily. However, the storyline was good. I did receive an arc for an honest review.

A very sweet second chance romance.
Fay has been in love with Neil since they were kids. They dated in high school then he left for college and stopped calling in writing. But when Neil comes back to take care of things after his father dies, she doesn't hold it against him. She is confused by wanting to see him but not wanting to because he isn't going to stay in their small Alaskan hometown.
I loved Fay...I love that she is sweet, sentimental, and willing to forgive. She is best friends with Courtney who is the complete opposite and they balance each other out. This book has some funny parts. Mia Ford had another great job with this book.

This is a second chance, short story romance of two high school sweethearts. Neil left Fay to go to college but mostly he just couldn't wait to leave his town and not look back. He was gone for 10-9 years and put Fay out of his mind but a tragedy brings him back to town where he sees Fay again, who seems to have been in that town just waiting for Neil to return on day. I'm not I like Neil if I'm being honest in fact for most of the book I thought he was a bit of a dick! Fay is an innocent beauty and loves her romance books and her BFF Courtney is a crack io their friendship make the book! This story had lots of potential and has a Happy ending! A well written story. The characters are well described but it took a few chapters to get caught in the story.
Neil and Fay was high school sweethearts but Neil just left town without reason. Now he wants her back but will she let him take her?
The characters develop through the story and I like them. I am not that into Fays friend. She annoys me sometimes.
Both main characters has their past and family issues to work with. They have feelings but do they dare to take the next step? Give it a second chance?
Hot scenes - a few - and nice plot that could have been more worked out towards the end. Nice story but the timeline was very confusing at times.
I can only recommend it if you are into romance books.

Falling for Her. This book starts out slow and simple. Then near the end everything is rushed and we have to assume what happens. Fay and Neil grow up together and begin a relationship through high school. The relationship ends when Neil leaves the small town to go to college. Leaving Fay heartbroken. Neil returns after his father dies. Fay let's him back in her life only for him to walk out again leaving her because he thinks he will find happiness in the big city. But he was wrong when he realized he was happy with Fay more than he was without her.  I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. *** I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. Faye and Neil have a history they used to be high school sweethearts. That is until he decided to leave town when he was able to and she just wanted to stay. Now years later they run into each other when he is back in town to settle his father's affairs. Faye was heartbroken when he left and doesn't want to be around him. Neil realises that what he has been looking for and wanting has been her in his hometowm all along. Will Faye give him a second chance? Can they have a future together?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

This is a great second chance romance read. After ditching his small town, and more importantly his longtime girlfriend, Neil is back to settle his fathers estate. Fay is still there, working the same job, still a virgin and waiting for that right man to come along.  These two have crazy chemistry but will it be enough for Neil to get over his hatred of the town?  Great read!  I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This isn't a super sweet and romantic story. Fay has her nose in a book and romantic thoughts, but when the love of her life leaves her, it crushes her. Now he's back and things are so good between them...for a while at least. Neil has feelings for Fay that never went away in the years they've been apart, but they still scare him to death. Instead of facing those fears, he runs again. Question is, will he figure out what he's lost? And will Fay forgive him for a second time if he does? Definitely a must read if your looking for something sweet, sexy and romantic. I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

A quick second chance romance. Fay is sweet woman and Neil is cold and concentrated on his career. When he get to know that his father passed away he have to come back to his hometown in Alaska. He don't expect to meet his high school sweetheart there, whom he broke up years ago without any notice. Fay is shocked to meet her ex t diner, where she work.

She is such a good and shy character that sometimes I thought she is just childlish. But I enjoyed reding the book. It was short and steamy.
Liked sex scenes and characters(maybe Fay is better :)).

Childhood sweethearts...that's what Fay and Neil WERE, then he left. Oh Fay, we know what that feels like at some point in our lives. Just as well you have a good friend in Courtney. Now Neil is back after his fathers funeral. Don't know who is more surprised at seeing each other Neil or Fay. I think Neil has some big decisions to make...does he or doesn't he want to be with Fay. The chemistry is very good but Fay being the romantic she is, she wants more. Can she trust Neil to man up and decide what is important in his life. A brilliant story and would love to hear more about Courtney and Eli possibly.

Small town second chance.

Neil left their small town in Alaska to make a name for himself. He left his high school sweetheart Fay behind, breaking her heart and her trust in the process. When he comes back to town he once again wants to make her his even though he's not really offering her much (at first).

These two have some serious chemistry. Neil is a pretty big jerk though, his ego gets in the way and he treats people like they don't matter. He redemes himself but I spent a good portion of the story wishing Fay could find happiness elsewhere.
