ARC provided by Netgalley for a fair review.

Prince Lincoln not only is a skilled demon hunter, but also will do whatever it takes as his role as prince that his duty calls. That includes marrying someone he has hardly even spoken to to form an alliance, though he has always known that he will not marry for love. In the midst of his own political scheme that risks his own life, but could potentially save many other demon hunters, he finds himself distracted by a half human half demon warrior girl

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for allowing me to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have enjoyed reading all of the Angelbound series and this was interesting being from Lincoln's point of view rather than Myla`s. It was very short so the reader had less time to become totally involved but having read the other books in the series made it more accessible. I would happily recommend it to in particular to fans of Lincoln and Myla.

Duty Bound, by Christina Bauer, is the prequel to her Angelbound Originals series. This prequel features 18-year old Lincoln Vidar Osric Aquilus, High Prince of the Thrax and a Demon Hunter of some renown. This story takes place in the months before Angelbound where readers will meet Myla Lewis. Thrax normally live underground, but in this story, Lincoln's family is living in Purgatory. While Myla makes brief appe

Finally I have the opportunity to read Duty Bound the prequel to Angelbound. In some ways we all feel we know and love Lincoln. The one thing that stood out for me was the pressure he is under and how alone he feels. As we know in the later books, the trouble the house of Acca cause for our feisty heroine in future books in the Angelbound Series.
Also after reading this book, it explained his absolute devotion the Myla as she was made for him. The book

Christina Bauer had blessed us, people! I know that she isn't one of the authors that believe in "just leave it at that", looking at how she repeatedly gifted us with more and more prequels, sequels, and stories of our beloved baby Lincoln our savage queen Myla.

One thing (if I remembered right, I've mentioned before) I loved the most about Bauer's books is the tone. Bauer had this distinct attitude when it comes to writing her narrations, which include

This was an excellent prequel from Lincoln's POV! The best part about this novella is that it's a story unto itself. It's got some good cameos and it gives great insight to what Lincoln is up to during the beginning of Angelbound.

Lincoln's POV!!! I've been waiting for this and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! The only thing that could have made it better was the ENTIRE story from his POV. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!!

I am completely new to Christina Bauer's book, so I wanted to pick one of her November Paperback releases that was the start to a new series. So even though, a bunch of the series look awesome, I chose Duty Bound because it was a prequel novella, where some of the other books were later novels in the series. I really enjoyed Duty Bound. It is the prequel novel in the Angelbound origins series, and best of all it is t

Intriguing new paranormal romance, this demon world feels a bit like Buffy the Vampire slayer vibe which I enjoy. The reader is quickly thrown into a world where there are slayers of demons. With a bit of political intrigue, Lincoln is the heir apparent who will be committing to a royal wedding of convenience.

This tale is promising as the reader learns about an aristocratic world where Thrax are demon fighters. And it is a kingdom with issues that Lincoln does not fully understand. There is some

Even though it's been a while since I read the first book in this series and I forgot the minor details of what was happening on Myla's side of things. This was still a really enjoyable read. I want to re-read the series again. Partly because when I first read the series, Acca and Thrax weren't out and Armageddon was the third book. So there's been changes made to the series, some gaps that I had previously thought needed to be fille

A very quick and easy read that drove me back to the angelbound world.
My only negative is that it could be longer.

Can wait to dive back into the series!!!

So as many of you know I love the Angelbound series by Christina Bauer. Both the Origins and Offspring books. I adore this world that has been created and I love the characters in them and how fast they read. So when I found out there was going to be a prequel novella from Lincoln’s POV I was on board. I received this eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Lincoln, High Prince, is having a rough go at things lately. He has to leave his homeland to stay in Purgatory, because an angel requires them to. Then he has to be around demons daily, which he usually kills them - so his self restraint is being tested. He has to deal with Aldred's incompetence of leading his army, because eventually he will have all of his soldiers killed with his terrible calls. Lincoln has a plan to fix tha

All his life Lincoln knows it has been his duty to fight demons and he lives for the times he gets to go to Earth to fight demons. Lincoln and his family have been spending time in Purgatory. Where he has a few disputes with his future father-in-law the Earl of Acca. The Earl of Acca is a very conniving and sneaky man.

It is also Lincoln’s duty to marry the Earl of Acca’s daughter something which Lincoln has never concerned himself with before until he sees a mysterious girl, a lady Thrax warrior

I loved this look through Lincoln's eyes. It is a short novella but so great. He is duty bound to do what is right for the thrax. He is also compelled to because he is a good guy. He is kind and loving to his mother. He respects his father, though he is unhappy with how he handles some things. Then there is the intrigue when he sees the 'demon girl'.

I have grown to love these characters through the series and seeing them in a new way just makes it better. I still dislike Aldred and maybe more n

Dutybound is a prequel Novella to the Angelbound series, which I haven't had a chance to read yet.

So despite the fact that I knew nothing about this story, the Novella proved to be an absolutely entertaining read.

My favorite thing is that none of it was confusing in the slightest. At times, when I read a prequel to a book, it has some references to the original book one which makes it confusing for the people who haven't read the book yet.

Thankfully, that didn't happen here.

I liked Lincoln, but

Duty Bound is a SciFi kind of book - not really sure hoe it fits in with the Christian genre other than he fights demons and falls in love with a half human and half demon. He was raised to kill demons and their in in lies the conundrum, but basically that is about it. In a nutshell - and he is a Prince bequeathed to be married to someone he will never love who he can never let know what he does which make it somewhat a pickle - since he is in love with the demon girl.....phew wow poor guy. Usually I would prefer the heroine's pov or a mix pov between the h and H, but this is Angelbound Origins we're talking about. And we all know how obsessed I am with Myla and Lincoln. We all heard Myla's pov so why not peek into Lincoln's right?

Nope. I was so prepared for all the paranormal goodness but unfortunately all I got is a repetition of Angelbound's prologue. With a tiny bit of extra thoughts on his arranged marriage and.... family or Thrax stuff... Despite it being told in Lincoln's po

An enjoyable read!

For the first time in his life, the prince wonders if he’ll follow his duty…
Or heed the demands of his heart...

Loved reading from his point of view. Seeing his reaction of how he first met his love before she even laid eyes on him.

Loved this bit of background from his world. Loved seeing his parents through his eyes and seeing his duty to his people from his perspective.

Full of Thrax, demons, battle, plans, duty and attraction.

Perfect for readers of dark fantasy romance.

This book is like Lincoln's version of event before he actually meets Mila and is still trying to figure out who she is.
His parents have this stupid rule that he can't be in love and that can totally go out the window.
We can see his interaction with Aldred already not going well and Conor behaving like a crazy person as soon as Acca is in the picture. It's like a sort of relationship summary of the rest of the series.
It's entertaining but it doesn't make the story progress much. The good thing

This prequel novella is a quick introduction to this storyline and world from the perspective of Lincoln. We get a quick immersion into court life from his POV as it exists in Purgatory, the breakdown of creatures and the chain of command there, as well as a peek into how he first sees Mera.

This is either a great place to start this series, a great refresher for fans, or a good way to get into Lincoln's POV before the release of Lincoln, which is Angelbound from his perspective.

After just recently reading Angelbound, hearing that there is a prequel novella setting up events from Prince Lincoln's POV had me hooked before I even started reading. As far as novellas go this one was great. It has all the elements that made Angelbound amazing to read. Its funny, has a great plot and, being a novella, is a quick read

This was a great quick read. It just gives more context to the clash between the Earl Aldred and Lincoln.
And also it gives more of a back story of Lincoln which I sort of love because in the other books I always felt we needed to know more about Lincoln and his life as a prince.

Looking for ward to reading all the other new books.

A short read that is a really enjoyable introduction to the series.
It gives a good background into the characters and builds the world wonderfully.
If you love this series as much as me then this is a must read. This is a small taste written from Lincon's POV, i really enjoyed this and seeing what he's thinking, This is all new and not a repeat of any part of book 1.

Christina Bauer thinks that fantasy books are like bacon: they just make life better. All of which is why she writes romance novels that feature demons, dragons, wizards, witches, elves, elementals, and a bunch of random stuff that she brainstorms while riding the Boston T. Oh, and she includes lots of humor and kick-ass chicks, too. Christina lives in Newton, MA with her husband, son, and semi-in ...more
