अपनी कोशिशों से शताब्दियों को पार करते हुए इन्सान ने इस दुनिया को न केवल रहने की हर सुविधा से सजाया बल्कि चकाचौंध से भर दिया मगर उसमें एक वर्ग ऐसा भी है जो संघर्षरत है और जिसका जीवन अन्दर-बाहर दोनों स्तर पर नासूर बन चुका है| ऐसे इन्सानों में सूर्यकान्त भी है जो अपने कष्ट को कर्तव्य से दूर करने की लगन में यह बिल्कुल भूल चुका है कि प्रेम की भी जीवन में एक बड़ी भूमिका होती है जिसकी कमी से बीमार पत्नी साधना मौत के अँधेरे में गुम होना चाहती है जबकि उसकी दोनों जवान होती बेटियाँ घुटन से भरे घर के इस नर्क से रौशनी के दायरों को पकड़ने के लिए छटपटाती हैं|
बाज़ार और तकनीक के इस विकसित हो रहे माहौल में छोटी बेटी अपना मार्गदर्शक ‘गूगल’ को समझ लेती है और ग्रैंडपा के जरिए वह बेहतर दुनिया में साँस लेने की तमन्ना पाल लेती है। अपने परिवार को सुखमय जीवन देने की इच्छा में साइबर क्राइम में फँस जाती है। शब्दों के दग़ा देने पर वह अविश्वास के उस मरुस्थल में आन खड़ी होती है जो शब्द पखेरू की तरह अपनी लहरों को पल-पल हवा में गुम कर देते हैं।

What will you do once one of your family member is bedridden and you are tired of taking help from your relatives and friends to run your house ? "रोगी से ज्यादा रोगी के देखभाल करने वाला वाला चुक जाता है।"- from the book
, you need clarity of thoughts that is what you get after reading this book.
Suryakant whose wife is bedridden, and has two college going daughters, learns this lesson when his request for not to transfer him to other city so that he could take care of his ailing wife is rejected and his boss gives him an advice : "भावनाओं से जीवन युद्ध नहीं जीता जा सकता" , which changes a lot of things for him, his daughtes and his ailing wife.
After he leaves for other city for his job, his daughters take care of their mother and start seeing some improvement.- "दुःख एक ऐसा धागा होता है जो अपनों को एक साथ पिरो देता है " .
and finally - "जीवन नीरसता को तोडना, अतीत के कुऍं में दुखों को फेंक कर आगे बढ़ने का नाम ही संघर्ष है। " -
I liked this book the fraud part could have been better.
